As first skyscrapers built in this town and in Montenegro, with a series of functional, design and technical-technological innovations, they hold a special place in the urban morphology and typology of collective housing in Podgorica, as well as in Fabris’s architectural body of work.

This research aims to identify the role of reference points in terms of the subject’s movement and orientation in the process of understanding both the unknown and the known surroundings. It is reflected as a principle of orientation through identification of reference points which we use for movement. One of the most important functions of the image of our surroundings is to enable orientation and guidance of movement towards a certain goal. Urban structures that are reflected through disposition and appearance of streets, through a specific landscape arrangement, and ultimately through specific dimensioning and shaping of architecture, can often help to create a place that is easy to read. The increase in vividness of a space enables easier visual identification as well as orientation in space. That type of visual stimulation is expressed through orientation reaction, which stimulates easier adjustment of the subject to a certain space. Perception is defined as the level of sensitivity to visual stimuli in space, which are often connected to the level of interest of the subject. Readability of a city image represents an ability through which a city could be seen as a whole which is made of several independent units and parts, indicating a physical clarity of the image [1]. Also, the entire landscape could be visually perceived as a complex composition of recognized symbols, which are used to identify certain parts of the city.

neglected when the possibilities potentially obtainable by perceiving and memorizing
architectural forms and space are considered . The contemporary architects, or a part of
them are well aware of these possibilities while designing their buildings, and it is of great
interest to ascertain how professionals and ordinary people perceived and memorized
buildings and sites through history.
The paper presents certain psychological methods that could be very helpful in this research.
One of those methods have The Gestalt principle is the initial method of one such method,
because the memorizing process strongly relies on the concept of "crystallization" of a
perceived event with the passage of time. Some examples, well known through building
history have been analyzed and compared in order to demonstrate how the interaction

In understanding architectural composition and the way it influences our perception and memory, the knowledge regarding the field of psychology of perception and the analysis of principles of its use in architecture proved to be highly important. Instinctive understanding of perceptual processes and of laws according which our visual apparatus and memory are influenced by the architectural form and space is something that cannot be avoided. These are the operating principles of the so called "ordinary" observer; and this is an important insight for architecture as a visual discipline, which has been often neglected. As a significant addition to intuition and experience, the creative work of architects is supported by the insights on perceptual and cognitive processes which have been revealed by the psychology of perception.
