We hope that: the material presented may be usefully employed in introduc tory courses of quantum mechanics, which are usual ly offered in the last year of the undergraduate curriculum.

The aim is to provide the reader, who is familiar with the major concepts of Solid State Physics, to study these topics couched in the language of path integrals. We endeavor to keep the formalism to the bare minimum.

The proof follows from mapping the ground state of the time-continuous Ashkin-Teller Hamiltonian onto that of the Ising chain in a transverse field.

We find that antiparticles are bound states of N-1 particles.

We show that, for 4~(2-fl31 </32 < 8?r all ultraviolet divergences cancel. Finite composite operators are constructed in this range. Ward identities and equations of motion are discussed.

Dispersion relations are used to calculate the scattering amplitudes of this process ...
