Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai suhu thawing terhadap kualitas sperma... more Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai suhu thawing terhadap kualitas spermatozoa dari semen beku sapi perah Fries Holland (FH). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang dilakukan meliputi: semen beku yang dithawing selama 30 detik pada air dengan suhu 33 0 C (P1), suhu 35 0 C (P2), suhu 37 0 C (P3), suhu 39 0 C (P4), suhu 41 0 C (P5). Peubah yang di amati meliputi persentase motilitas spermatozoa,viabilitas dan recovery rate. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu thawing yang berbeda mempengaruhi motilitas, viabilitas, recovery rate spermatozoa yang dibekukan (P<0,05). Motilitas, recovery rate P4 lebih tinggi dibandingkan P2, P1 dan P5 (P<0,05), tetapi tidak berbeda dengan P3 (P>0,05). Viabilitas P4 lebih tinggi dibandingkan P1 dan P5 (P>0,05) tetapi tidak berbeda dengan P2 dan P3 (P>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa suhu thawing mempengaruhi motilitas, viabilitas, recovery rate spermatozoa yang dibekukan. Kualitas yang terbaik pada semen beku sapi perah Fries Holland (FH) dengan menggunakan suhu thawing 39 0 C dan 37 0 C selama 30 detik.

The research was undertaken to study the effect of frozen semen distance from liquid nitrogen su... more The research was undertaken to study the effect of frozen semen distance from liquid nitrogen surface during handling on spermatozoa quality of PE goat. Thirty straws of PE goat frozen semen was allotted into six treatments i.e. T0 (control, straws submerged in liquid nitrogen), T1 to T5 based on distance of straws to liquid nitrogen surface were 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 cm. Variables measured were motility, viability, and abnormality of spermatozoas. The results showed that PE goat frozen semen exposed in different distance to liquid nitrogen surface decreased (P<0.05) motily and viability of spermatozoas and had no effect (P>0.05) on abnormality of spermatozoas. The motily and viability was decreased in T4 and T5. In conlusion, exposing PE goat frozen semen from liquid nitrogen surface at 15 cm or less for 5 min maintain the quality of spermatozoas.

Puerperium adalah periode mulai melahirkan sampai organ-organ reproduksi kembali ke kondisi fisio... more Puerperium adalah periode mulai melahirkan sampai organ-organ reproduksi kembali ke kondisi fisiologis dan histologis yang normal dalam keadaan tidak bunting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi status puerperium dan skor kondisi tubuh pada sapi Peranakan Simmental (PS) yang dipelihara pada ketinggian tempat yang berbeda. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode survey di tiga kabupaten yaitu Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat dan Kabupaten Tebo (dataran rendah-sedang) dan Kabupaten Kerinci (dataran tinggi). Sampel dipilih secara purposive sampling dengan kriteria induk sapi PS pasca melahirkan, induk yang dipilih diperkirakan minimal mempunyai 75% darah Simmental berdasarkan penampilan eksteriornya. Setiap daerah dengan tinggi yang berbeda masing-masing diambil 20 ekor sampel. Induk yang memiliki masa puerperum lebih dari 60 hari dikategorikan mengalami gangguan reproduksi (gangrep). Untuk menilai kondisi kesehatan secara keseluruhan dilakukan pemeriksaan Skor Kondisi Tubuh (SKT). Data SKT disajikan dalam bentuk rataan ± standar deviasi. Perbedaan lama puerperium dan SKT dianalisis dengan uji-t, sedangkan proporsi induk yang mengalami gangguan reproduksi dilakukan uji khi-kuadrat. Semua perhitungan statistik menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada dataran rendah-sedang gangrep terjadi pada 70% induk lebih banyak dibandingkan dataran tinggi yaitu 25% (P<0,05).

Postpartum anestrus is the major factor causing elongation of the calving interval and in consequ... more Postpartum anestrus is the major factor causing elongation of the calving interval and in consequense, lowering beef cow productivity. Anestrus condition is closey related to inactive ovary condition. The research was conducted to find out reproductive disorders in ovarian of beef cattle cow that underwent prolonged postpartum anestrus (more than 3 months). One hundred and fifty heads post partum anestrus cow were selected. The general body condition were evaluated based on Body Condition Score (BCS). The types of reproductive disruption in ovary were determined by rectal palpation method. The cows observed had 2.0 to 3.2 (2.6 ± 0.7) in BCS. The result showed that 37.68% of prolonged postparum anestrus cow had ovarian disorders. The types of ovarian disoreders detected were hypofunction (19.32%), cystic follicle (8.21%), persistent corpus luteum (4.5%), atrophy (1.93%) and partial agenesis (0.97%).

This research was conducted on December 12, 2020 to January 6, 2021. The objects observed in this study were all inseminators at each IB post in Kerinci Regency.The data obtained from this study are primary data and secondary data. The data were analyzed using Stepwise Multiple Regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that the success of artificial insemination in Kerinci Regency is good, this can be seen from the S/C value per inseminator of 1.69.The influence of internal characteristics (length of work, training intensity, accuracy, technical ability of straw management and estrus detection) and external (distance from house to work area, supporting facilities, condition of post IB, sanitation of tools and fittings) has an effect (P>0.05). Kualitas yang terbaik pada semen beku sapi perah Fries Holland (FH) dengan menggunakan suhu thawing 39 0 C dan 37 0 C selama 30 detik.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi status puerperium dan skor kondisi tubuh pada sapi Peranakan Simmental (PS) yang dipelihara pada ketinggian tempat yang berbeda.
