Universities interested in remodeling licensure programs to prepare 21st-century superintendents ... more Universities interested in remodeling licensure programs to prepare 21st-century superintendents are faced with a plethora of data to guide curriculum design. This article summarizes survey and focus group findings from current and prospective superintendents and outlines how these data informed the restructuring of the superintendent licensure program at a midwestern university. The curriculum and the delivery model were affected by the data. The authors reflect on the tensions between what the faculty were willing to change about the curriculum, the focus group suggestions, and the best practices described in the leadership preparation literature.

The success of this project is determined to a large extent by identifying and monitoring critical success factors (CSFs) for these stages. Based on the studies in the field of CSFs and consultations with experts from the ICT sector and academia, the paper presents a comprehensive framework for the overall management of CSFs (from CSFs’ design to their monitoring). The framework helps business organizations conceptualize CSFs for different stages of a project for the adoption of a chosen digital business solution. Furthermore, the framework provides practical guidance in the form of a framework, a methodology on what organizations should do to identify, monitor and manage the proper CSFs so that they can take the most advantage of them. The proposed framework has broad practical application...

The European Union recognizes the significance of the digitalization of schools and encourages the development of digitally mature schools with a high level of ICT integration in school management and educational processes. In recent years, the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science has allocated funds under national programs for schools’ digitalization. The paper presents the results of a pilot evaluation of the digital maturity level of 50 primary and secondary schools in Bulgaria. Based on the grades of each indicator from the specially developed DigBGSchool model the schools' digitalization indexes are calculated, and the digital maturity level of schools are determined (Initial, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert). Finally, some recommendations for increasing the digital maturity levels of schools are given.

This paper presents a study, based on a survey questionnaire, which aims to investigate to what extent and for what purposes teachers from different countries from all over the world use social networking in their teaching practice. The attitude towards the use of social networking in higher education in general is examined. The study is intended to seek dependences between the answers related to the above issues and different teachers' characteristics, on the point of view if the teachers are well informed about social networking sites, or whether they participate in interest groups or research related to social networking and higher education. Finally, summarized results of the survey are presented, depending on the continent where the countries of the participants are located.

The new educational system/ paradigm has seen some challenges in regards to providing best quality education through the use of learning analytics. Even though this area of study is still to be explored and emphasized, it is nonetheless the key driver for the aforementioned study. The paper proposes a review of basic research in this field within the study that will provide models, methods and software tools for learning analytics in order to improve the learning outcomes of higher education.Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski

In recent years, data extraction and analysis at higher education institutions (HEIs) has become increasingly important. HEIs are looking for solutions that allow them to extract data from different information systems and convert them into knowledge that helps them to optimize their processes and improve process management (e.g. monitoring and forecasting learning outcomes, admission of students, ensuring equal access to education and career development in higher education, organization of research and project activities, etc.). Although the research in the field is still at a relatively early stage of development, there are a number of good practices in the literature for implementing data analytics tools. These practices show how innovative universities are finding solutions to improve and optimize their processes....

For the exploration of the didactical model a specially designed e-learning course in Spreadsheets is developed and Web technology tools are integrated to support increasing the learning effects of different training activities. The paper presents a part of the study that shows how the social networking sites can be used to improve different learning effects of different training activities (knowledge assessment, individual work, presentation of primary and supplementary learning resources, etc.) in the Spreadsheet e-learning course.

There is also a trend towards more formal acceptance of their role in higher education by participants in the educational process. The article presents the results of a survey on attitudes towards (in the direction from informal to formal use) the extent and scope of application of social networking in teaching and learning by teachers and students.
