Malaysia business environment was predominantly made up of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), w... more Malaysia business environment was predominantly made up of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which indicates a total of 1,151,339 SMEs that represent 97.2 percent of total business establishments. The SMEs created employment accounted for 7.25 million workforces, which indicates 48 percent of total employment in the year 2020. The unexpected outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has presented a notable challenge for numerous SMEs, particularly in developing nations that have been slower in implementing digitalization strategies. Without exception, SMEs in Malaysia are currently facing ongoing challenges in their efforts to undertake digital transformation. Despite the considerable advantages derived from the digitised economy, small and financially constrained SMEs continued to lag due to internal resource and information deficiencies, skills gaps, and challenges related to securing financing. Hence, this study aims to investigate the digital transformation phenomenon and the challenges faced by SMEs following the COVID-19 pandemic so that the government can provide the necessary support for SMEs’ digital transformation.

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has been supporting the potential of students with disabilities by offering academic programmes. This study examines the policy regarding inclusivity for people/students with disabilities and services provided. Using a qualitative approach, the primary data were obtained through the interviews with the officer of Student Affairs Department (HEP) and three disabled students. Responses were recorded, transcribed and analysed using thematic approach. HEP was selected since the Department involves with students affairs and provides services for students with disabilities. It is an Act to facilitate the development of youth in Malaysia from the aspects of education, research, and human resource. Therefore, this paper examines the efforts of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) as a national human rights institution (NHRI), playing an important role in the mainstream efforts to ensure the protection and promotion of youth rights. This paper is a qualitative research paper in which it is more exploratory in nature and possibly leading to the development of concepts and theories. This paper presents the outcome of the historical and interview approaches as to find out how and why SUHAKAM has come to take its present form. Lack of awareness and understanding of youth development law amongst youth and policy makers is q... more Lack of awareness and understanding of youth development law amongst youth and policy makers is quite significant. Among the reasons that have been identified to be the root cause of this weakness is due to the failure or less priority given by the youth societies and related organization which are responsible in providing quality programmes for youth. In light of the above gap, the paper examines youth awareness on youth development law from the perspective of policy makers and youth themselves. This is a social-legal study, which involves two types of data collection; first, interviews with 53 policy makers/management from ministries, youth departments, youth agencies and societies; and result from a survey amongst Malaysian youth amounting to 4703. However, the barrier that restricts SSNs as mechanism to improve the quality of life for single mothers is a failure of service delivery functions. The single mothers can be empowered through good delivery system of SSNs because it can support their social development. Basically, SSNs is used as short term supporting system to generate independent nature of life and consciousness among women (single mothers).Thus this study aims to explore how the delivery of SSNs services or assistance to single mothers operates and whether SSNs empowered them.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept whereby organizations consider the interests o... more Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept whereby organizations consider the interests of the society by taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, communities and other relevant stakeholders. CSR portrays the collaboration and integration between public and private sectors towards ensuring the healthier and better quality of life of society. The concept of CSR is based on the mutual dependence between a corporate and society as well as the indicators that affect these relationships. Society at large is looking at private sectors for answers regarding problems such as health crises, and environmental issues that related to their daily lives. Therefore, this study will explore the types of social responsibility programs provided by public companies in Malaysia. In other words, the paper tries to look at the Government-Linked Companies roles in anchoring Malaysia Government socioeconomic structure by identifying their initiative to provide CSR programmes or activities to the community.

Design/methodology/approach A qualitative research approach was used by conducting interviews. Data were purposively collected from a sample of 15 education stakeholders in Sokoto State, and analyzed to extract major themes using the NVivo software program. Findings The results of the interviews suggested that high-quality education is defined by the following seven dimensions that fell under a systems-based framework: the provision of adequate instructional materials, the provision of educational infrastructure, imparting the “right” knowledge, meeting education “yardsticks”, provision of teacher support and welfare, creating a conducive learning atmosphere and availability of high-quality teachers. The study examines critical success factors of market orientation in the context of Malaysian fir... more The study examines critical success factors of market orientation in the context of Malaysian firms. Besides, the study also investigates the relationship between market orientation and financial performance. Malaysian manufacturing firms represent the sample of the study. Data was collected using mail questionnaire survey approach. One hundred and fifty eight Malaysian manufacturing organizations participated in this study. Results of this study indicated that there were five critical success factors of market orientation practices in the context of Malaysian manufacturing firms: market focus, market action, market planning, market feedback and market coordination. The results also revealed that market action and market planning were positively related to financial performance. The outcome of this study provides vital information from a developing country perspective on the impact of market orientation practices on manufacturing organisations' performance.
