Palate is the most common site to be involved in the oral cavity followed by parotid region, tongue, and floor of mouth. It is commonly seen in middle age population with slight female predilection. It usually appears as asymptomatic, slow growing infiltrative growth with high recurrence, often presence of perineural invasion which appears as pain. In this present case of ADCC, a 65-year-old female patient reported with a swelling on the left side of hard palatal area since 3 months with occasional pain and history of epistaxis, which was diagnosed clinically, radiographically, and histopathologically and confirmed by immunohistochemistry as Grade III solid variety of ADCC with a poor prognosis.

The oral cavity and larynx have been reported to be the commonest sites of involvement in the head and neck regions. VC is characterised with presence of minimal degree of dysplasia and biological aggressiveness, the principal etiological factor being tobacco usage. Its distinctive histopathological features make it exigent for diagnosis and build a close association between the clinician and the histopathologist. Hereby we report a rare case of verrucous carcinoma on the right buccal mucosa of a 48 year old male patient progressing into invasive squamous cell carcinoma.

The result showed in SCC, there was an increase in frequency of arch and ulnar loop patterns on fingertips, decrease in frequency of simple whorl patterns on fingertips, decrease in frequency of palmar accessory triradii on right and left hands. Significant findings in OSF included an increase in frequency of arch and ulnar loop pattern, decrease in frequency of simple whorl patterns on fingertips, decrease in ATD angle on right hand decrease in frequency of palmar accessory triradii on right hand. The results revealed that the field of dermatoglyphics holds promising results for determining the genetic susceptibility of individuals to develop SCC and OSF.

About 90% of these tumors occur in the parotid gland and 10% in the minor salivary glands. The most common site for pleomorphic adenoma of the minor salivary glands is the palate followed by upper lip. Surgical removal with adequate margins is the principal treatment. Due to its microscopic projections, this tumor requires a wide resection to avoid recurrence. We report a case of pleomorphic adenoma in the upper lip of an elderly female with emphasis on differential diagnosis and relevant review of literature.

They cause numerous amount of diseases around the globe and are of prime importance of studies of major health organisations like WHO and CDC. Hydatid cyst are one of the commonest occurring cysts affecting the world population. However the oral complications has been less studied because of its rare occurrence in that region. This review article deals with the life cycle, intra oral complications along with diagnosis and treatment of such cysts.

Often these complaints are related to oral mucosal lesions or masses, which are either drug-induced or as a consequence of immunosuppression. Oral lesions in transplant recipients need to be identifi ed, diagnosed, and treated effi ciently in order to improve the quality of life and sense of well-being in these patients. This review appraises the recognition of plethora of oral problems that can arise in transplant recipients and their appropriate management by an oral physician.

They are rarely found in the oral cavity and are characterized by solitary occurrence, slow, persistent growth and smooth surface, along with inconsistent clinical aspects depending on the nerve origin. Microscopically, the lesion typically comprises of alternating regions of hypercellularity and hypocellularity such as Antoni A and Antoni B arrangements, respectively. Here, we present a case of a benign spindle cell tumor of the mandible reflecting a case of intraosseous neurilemmoma in a 33-year-old female patient. Immunopositivity with S-100 and vimentin clearly indicates the lesion to be a spindle cell tumor with neural involvement. The prognosis was favorable; complete surgical removal was the treatment of choice with no recurrence noted. The present case further magnifies the importance of neurilemmoma and further aids in the differential diagnosis of several other benign soft tissue tumors in the oral cavity.

These are usually adequate but often result in scars and recurrence. Therefore, this study was undertaken to determine the effectiveness of sclerotherapy in the treatment of oral pyogenic granuloma. Materials and Methods: Forty clinically diagnosed cases of oral pyogenic granuloma were included in the study. After topical anesthesia application, 0.2–0.5 mL of sodium tetradecyl sulfate was delivered by insulin syringe into the base of lesions till the solution leaked out. Each patient was recalled after 1 week and evaluated. If the lesion did not resolve, second and third injections were given consecutively. Results: All the 40 patients showed complete regression of the lesion after one to four consecutive shots in weekly interval. Conclusion: Intralesional sclerotherapy can be considered as an effective non-surgical treatment procedure for oral pyogenic granuloma.

Till now, the exact cause and mechanism of this condition isn't very much clear; it is however believed to be multifactorial. Various studies indicate that genetically mediated disturbances of the innate and acquired immunity play an important role in the disease development. Vitamins and micro-elements deficiencies are one of the principal factors that modify the immunologic response in RAS. Aim: To probe for correlation between serum levels of Vitamin A, B12, D3, E, and RAS. Methods and Materials: The cross-sectional clinical study was conducted on persons seeking dental service at some private dental college in West Bengal, India between January 2017 and June 2018. Forty patients suffering from RAS were compared to forty normal individuals. Applying ELISA method, serum concentration of vitamins A, vitamin B12, vitamin D3 and vitamin E were measured in two groups. Statistical Analysis: The means between two groups were compared by Student's unpaired 't' test. A value of P < 0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Results: RAS patients had a significantly lower serum level of vitamin A, B12, D3 and E than normal individuals; and there were a positive relation between the serum level of vitamin B12 and vitamin E in RAS patients. Conclusion: Vitamin A, B12, D3 and E deficiency have a significant bearing on RAS; and serum level of vitamin B12 and E of RAS patients have a significant interrelationship.

The underlying mechanism responsible for causing intraepithelial lesions is the binding of immunoglobulin G autoantibodies to desmoglein 3, a transmembrane glycoprotein adhesion molecule present on desmosomes. Histological features comprise intraepithelial cleft and Tzanck cells. Corticosteroids remain the mainstay of the treatment plan. In this article, we have discussed about the diagnosis of three patients suffering from PV, the treatment rendered, and the outcome of the same.

Diagnostic images of surgical site is necessary for pre-operative treatment planning, intra-operative work assessment, and postoperative treatment evaluation. At present, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is the best imaging modality for qualitative and quantitative analysis of the surgical site for implant placement. It allows proper planning and subsequent post-operative evaluation with sub-millimetric accuracy in implant placement of lower jaw considering the position of inferior alveolar nerve canal. CBCT software enables simulation of implant placement to choose the ideal dimension, position and orientation by evaluating bone quality and position of inferior alveolar nerve canal with different anatomical type and variety. This article describes why CBCT is crucial for pre-surgical assessment dental implants following position of inferior alveolar nerve canal in mandibular area.

Eagle's syndrome (ES) occurs when an elongated styloid process or calcified stylohyoid ligament causes recurrent throat pain or foreign body sensation, dysphagia, or orofacial pain. On the other hand, Ely's cysts are focal subchondral cysts resulting from bony remodelling and osteoarthritic changes. Here, we report a case depicting an interesting combination of all the abovementioned entities in a single patient.
