This research present the content analysis of editorials published in leading daily Urdu newspape... more This research present the content analysis of editorials published in leading daily Urdu newspapers, the daily Jang, the daily Express and the daily Dunya about Pakistan people’s Party(PPP), Pakistan Muslim Legue Nawaz (PMLN )and Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) during general election campaign 2013. The editorials of these three papers were selected for 48 days from 25th march 2013 to 11th may 2014. The study considered agenda setting theory to measure two variables “frequency and slant”. The researcher conducted a content analysis of editorials published on opinion pages on daily basis. The results depicts that all three newspapers treated each political party differently. Results show that out of 132 editorials, all newspapers gave huge coverage to PPP with 80 editorials while 32 editorials discussed PMLN sand 20 editorials discussed PTI. The daily Jang published 57 editorials followed by daily Dunya with 43 editorials and daily Express with 32 editorials. The results show that daily Jang favored PTI, daily Express favored PPP and daily Dunya favored PMLN.
