The optimal design of flexible pavements was achieved by minimizing the construction cost of the pavement. The incorporation of waste materials into the pavement structure affects the material properties. Therefore, along with the traffic load, the effects of the material properties of the asphalt concrete, base layer, sub-base layer, and subgrade were analyzed in terms of pavement structure costs and CO2 emissions of materials used in pavement construction. In addition, a comparison was made between pavements with and without geosynthetic reinforcement in terms of design, optimum construction cost, and CO2 emissions. The use of geosynthetics is even more effective in pavement structures that contain waste materials in an unbound layer, both in terms of cost and CO2 emissions. The minimum value...

A total of 112 boreholes were investigated by helping the SPT results (Standard Penetration Test) and soil parameters. Matasovic/Vucetic or Dobry/Matasovic model was used in the analyzes according to soil class. For analyzes, 11 earthquake were determined. The determined earthquakes were scaled with the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) of the neighborhoods and 44 earthquake data were found. Every borehole was analyzed with these 44 earthquake data in the Deepsoil 6.1 program and liquefaction risk maps were created. The average liquefaction risk data for neighborhoods were created by averaging the results obtained. The liquefaction data found show different results for earthquake levels. Liquefaction analysis results according to Earthquake Level-2 (DD-2), which the regulation accepts as a design earthquake; The average liquefaction risk was calculated as 23% in Lala H...

Furthermore these wastes are composed in large quantities. This also makes it difficult to store wastes. In recent years lots of researches have been done to solve these problems. According to these researches, they have suggested that usage of waste materials in many areas as a material or additive material. One of the areas is soil stabilization. Soil properties are improved with this additive wastes. In this study, laboratory tests were conducted on granular soil specimens amended with fly ash and granite. The specimens were prepared with granular soil and fly ash-granite at different ratios. They were compacted standard Proctor compaction energy and, than were cured 1, 7, 28 and 58 days. After cure unconfined compressive tests were conducted to investigate the effect of fly ash-granite dust on granular soil strength. Moreover California bearing ratio test were performed to specimens with additive materi...

The normal distribution fitness of the compaction percentiles was tested by the Anderson-Darling test and normal distribution was normalized by subjecting the unsuitable Water Content values to Jonson transformation. Findings the results obtained with the nuclear method reveal that both methods are consistent with each other in terms of mean data, with lower and more variables in the Sand Cone method. It is recommended to test the consistency of the results obtained by the nuclear method. Also, because of the rapid results, statistical model has been investigated for adapting the results of nuclear method to the sand cone method. For this purpose, regression analysis and artificial neural network models were investigated; artificial neural networks were seen to provide successful predictions inside of the found models.

This is important in terms of recycling of waste materials and reducing environmental pollution. The objective of this study is to investigate the beneficial reuse of marble dust and fly ash in soil stabilization. Tests were performed on clay soil mixtures amended with marble dust and fly ash. Marble dust was used as an activator due to fly ash being inadequate for self-cementing. Unconfined compressive strength (q u), freeze-thaw, swelling, and California bearing ratio (CBR) tests were conducted to investigate the effect of marble dust and fly ash, curing time, and molding water content on geotechnical parameters. Addition of marble dust and fly ash increased unconfined compressive strength, CBR, and freeze-thaw strength, but these additives decreased swelling potential and grain loss after freeze-thaw. Increasing the curing time results in increased strength of mixtures and decreased grain loss. A...
