Virtual Reality applications are experiencing a surge in popularity as they afford a feeling of co-presence and 'togetherness' that video-conferencing cannot. But VR environments for conferencing are not fully mature yet in terms of space, and even less so in terms of the human activities they are supposed to facilitate. Moreover, for researchers, designers and practitioners from various backgrounds working on and in these spaces, a rigorous, shared language for conferencing activities in virtual environments to facilitate the exchange between different stakeholders does not exist as yet. In this paper, we therefore propose a simple, clear method for the development of a human-centered ontology for VR-conferencing, combining existing methodological protocols with Activity Theory and Installation Theory. We then present the first iteration of the ontology focusing specifically on human activity which we developed based on a recent 5-week conference with experts from academia and industry that took place in a 3D VR-environment.

In system specification, we focus on distribution of work between humans and systems. In design of system’s DOME, on building an ecology of individual motives, organizational rules and mediating structures to keep the system sustainable.

It was on the basis of this recognition that the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg in 2002 called on the international community to work toward improving global living conditions and to 'encourage and promote the development of a ten-year framework of programmes on sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in support of regional and national initiatives to accelerate the shift towards SCP'. Sustainable consumption focuses on formulating equitable strategies that foster the highest quality of life, the efficient use of natural resources and the effective satisfaction of human needs while simultaneously promoting equitable social development, economic competitiveness and technological innovation.

The experiment was a mixed design, using both within and between subjects variables. The independent variable for the within subjects factor was the task that participants performed. There were three tasks: answering a questionnaire, reading a non‐threateningly worded e‐mail reprimand, and reading a threateningly worded e‐mail reprimand. Although the study used students as participants, the messages they received were from real people in a University College. Discusses the implications in the area of occupational health.FindingsDiastolic blood pressure was significa...
