Cervical cancer is considered the second communal cancer in women after breast cancer universally. It can be treatable, avoidable, or recognized early, particularly with systematic screening and vaccination. The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of a psychological nursing intervention on married women's beliefs, attitudes, and preventive practices of cervical cancer. Design & tools: the quasi-experimental study was conducted on 200 randomly selected married women using the Self-Administered Questionnaire and Assessment Sheet for knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, and barriers to preventive measures for cervical cancer. Setting: it was conducted in the family planning unit in the teaching hospital and gynecology clinic of the university hospital in Shebin-Alkom,Menoufia University, Egypt. The results revealed a high statistically significant difference between the study and control groups regarding mean scores of knowledge beliefs, and preventive practice concerning cervical cancer, its screening, and prevention after a psychological nursing intervention compared with before. Also, the majority of the study group practiced preventive measures in a positive way after a psychological nursing intervention compared with the control group. Conclusion: the study concluded that the psychological nursing intervention has a positive effect on beliefs, attitudes, and preventive practices of cervical cancer among married women. Recommendation: Additional educational intervention is required to encourage adherence to routine cancer screening by raising awareness about cervical cancer among married women. Adding cervical cancer preventive strategies beside other reproductive health services at all health care delivery system levels.

Background: Covid-19 has multiple physical, psychological, social and environmental health proble... more Background: Covid-19 has multiple physical, psychological, social and environmental health problems regarding quality of life of nurses including those who are working at primary health care centers. The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of covid-19 pandemic disease on quality of life among nurses working at primary health care centers. Design: A descriptive cross sectional research design was utilized. Sample: A simple random sample of 300 nurses working at primary health care centers; included 166 nurses from urban health centers and 134 nurses from rural health units. Setting: The study was carried out in primary health care centers, two districts from ten districts of Menoufia governorate were selected by multistage random selection included; Birket El-Saba and Shebin El-kom districts, Menoufia Governorates, Egypt. Instruments: An interview questionnaire contained; Socio-demographic characteristics, nurses' awareness about Corona virus infection and quality of life assessment scale by World Health Organization. Results: The current study revealed that, there were negative consequences of covid-19 on quality of life of nurses under the study in different physical, psychological, social and environment domains of quality of life. Finally, the majority of the studied nurses experienced low level of total quality of life (80%), while only 20% had high level of total quality of life. Conclusions: Covid-19 produces wide variety of problems and has negative consequences on quality of life of nurses working at primary health care centers. Recommendations: Ongoing professional development programs should be developed to enhance QoL of health care workers especially nurses working at primary health care centers in response to the pandemic and mitigating COVID-19-related stressors and psychological problems and facilitating social support.

Bullying among nurses and nursing students is a serious issue and generates a negative culture th... more Bullying among nurses and nursing students is a serious issue and generates a negative culture that threatens the ethics of nursing professionals and causes burnout or turnover among nurses. Hence, we must seriously consider measures to prevent it. Moreover, self-efficacy and self-esteem is crucial for the ability and performance of nursing students in the work environment. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of applying bullying protective program on self-efficacy and self-esteem among nursing students. A quasi-experimental research design one group pre-test, post-test and follow-up test was used. All family and community health nursing students (221) who enrolled in the fourth year-second semester of the academic year (2018-2019) at the faculty of nursing who agreed to be part in this study were included. Two tools were utilized which are General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) and Rosenberg's Global Self-esteem Scale, in addition to program implementation. There were statistically significant differences in both self-efficacy and self-esteem levels before and after the bullying protective program. There were a highly statistical significant improvement in the different levels of both self-esteem and self-efficacy immediately after bullying protective program and after 3 months (follow-up test) among nursing students compared to before the program where (p = 0.000). Implementation of a bullying protective program has a positive effect on improving self-efficacy and self-esteem of nursing students. Nursing curricula should integrate the concept of bullying and how to confront it in a professional manner. Also, the nursing college should set policies to eradicate the occurrence of bullying in the workplace, which creates a positive influence on the learning environment and the nursing profession as a whole.
