Vanadyum, çok farklı yükseltgenme basamağında bulunan, kolay yükseltgenmeyen, korozyona dayanıklı... more Vanadyum, çok farklı yükseltgenme basamağında bulunan, kolay yükseltgenmeyen, korozyona dayanıklı bir geçiş elementidir. Sert ve işlenebilir çelik, seramik, yarı iletken üretimi gibi birçok endüstriyel alanda vanadyum veya bileşikleri kullanılır. Sülfürik asit ve birçok organik bileşiğin üretimi gibi birçok alanda bileşikleri katalizör görevi görür. Canlılarda hücre dışı vücut sıvılarında VO 3 1− , hücre içi vücut sıvılarında ise VO 2+ formunda bulunur. Akciğerlerde çözünebilen vanadyum bileşiklerinin iyi absorbe edilmesine karşın vanadyum tuzları mide ve bağırsakta kolay emilime uğramazlar. Vanadyum muhtemelen temel bir eser element olmasına karşın vanadyum eksikliğinden dolayı herhangi bir hastalık insanlarda tespit edilememiştir. Genel olarak vanadyum bileşiklerinin toksisitesi düşüktür. Vanadyum kanserojen değildir, ancak kanserojen olma olasılığı göz önüne alınmalıdır. Yiyecekler, canlılar için esas vanadyum kaynağıdır. Genellikle vücuttaki vanadyumun fazlasını ortadan kaldırmak için yapılan önlemler gereksizdir çünkü vücutta vanadyum fazla kalmaz. Yani tedaviler destekleyicidir. Askorbik asit ve şelat oluşturucu deferoksamin ve 4,5-dihidroksi-1,3-benzendisülfonik asit bileşikleri vanadyum zehirlenmesine karşı kullanılabilir.

A novel coordination polymer [(VIVO)2(OH)2(C10H6(COO)2)]∞ based on vanadium(IV) and 2,6-naphthale... more A novel coordination polymer [(VIVO)2(OH)2(C10H6(COO)2)]∞ based on vanadium(IV) and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylato ligand has been prepared by hydrothermal synthetic method. The compound was characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy, room-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement, manganometric titration, bond valance sum calculations (BVS), and single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. BVS calculations, manganometric titration, and room-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement showed that the compound has paramagnetic property due to tetravalent vanadium ions. The single-crystal structure analysis of the compound illustrates a 2D metal organic framework structure. Coordination geometry of vanadium ions was a distorted square-pyramid (square-pyramidal coordination environment of oxygen atoms). The compound represents a novel 2D inorganic-organic coordination polymer involving vanadium(IV) and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylato ligand.

In this paper, flowerlike MoS 2 hollow microspheres were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal sol... more In this paper, flowerlike MoS 2 hollow microspheres were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal solution route with the assistance of Pluronic F-127. The as-prepared products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The experimental results indicated reaction time and surfactant have significant effects on the morphology of the as-prepared products. A possible formation mechanism has also been investigated on the basis of a series of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies of the product obtained at different durations. This well-controlled synthesis approach may be extended to fabricate complex hollow structures of other transition metal sulfide materials.

The aim of this study was to determine the changes in some physicochemical properties of olives (... more The aim of this study was to determine the changes in some physicochemical properties of olives (fruit weight, water content and oil content) and olive oils (total chlorophyll, carotenoid, pheophytin a, peroxide value and free acidity), and in the chemical properties (fatty acids, tocopherols, phenolics, oxidation stability and volatile profiles) of oils during ripening. Ripening indices (RI) of olive samples were 1.93 (unripe), 4.28 (ripe) and 5.89 (overripe). Most of the mentioned features changed with ripening. During ripening there was a sharp decrease in total chlorophyll, carotenoid and pheophytin a contents. An increase in oleic and linoleic acids and a decrease in palmitic acid were found in the fatty acid composition. Olive oils showed strong relations among oxidation stability, tocopherol content, total phenols content, and antiradical actvity of phenol extracts and these parameters decreased with maturation. Nevertheless, higher amounts of trans-2-hexenal were found in the oil from ripe olives than from unripe and overripe olives. On the other hand, the highest concentration of hexanal was found in the oil from overripe olives. In general, significant differences were observed in fruit weight, pigments, free acidity, fatty acid, tocopherol, and total phenolics contents, radical scavenger activity, oxidation stability, phenolic profile and volatile profile between the olive oils from the Gemlik cultivar at different stages of maturation.

In this work, the goal was to synthesize vanadium containing nanoparticles with solution plasma p... more In this work, the goal was to synthesize vanadium containing nanoparticles with solution plasma process (SPP) method. The solution plasma was produced by discharging with a bipolar DC power supply and the system was applied to 0.25 M aqueous solution of VOSO 4 •xH 2 O to prepare vanadium containing nanoparticles. The effects of different discharge times (0, 10, 20 and 30 minutes) and applied voltage (1500 V) during the synthesis were investigated. From all experiments same vanadium oxide compound(s)/mixture(s), named as "the product" and formulated as "V x O y ", were obtained. The product was tried to be characterized by using FTIR, TGA, DTA, XRD and FESEM-EDX analysis results.

We report the synthesis of metal–organic framework supported-Co-Ru (Co-Ru@MOF) catalyst and its c... more We report the synthesis of metal–organic framework supported-Co-Ru (Co-Ru@MOF) catalyst and its catalytic activity. The synthesized Co-Ru@MOF catalyst for the first time is used to obtain the maximum hydrogen production rate from hydrolysis of NaBH4. The synthesized Co-Ru@MOF catalyst indicates a compelling performance in the hydrogen production from the hydrolysis of NaBH4. It is found that Co-Ru@MOF with the loading of Co (80 wt%) and Ru (20 wt%) indicates a high hydrogen production rate of 15,144 mL/min.g and low activation energy of 41.41 kJ mol−1. The current study demonstrates that MOF is promising support for dispersing metal catalysts. Moreover, the synthesized Co-Ru@MOF catalyst is characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS) measurements.

In this paper, flowerlike MoS 2 hollow microspheres were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal sol... more In this paper, flowerlike MoS 2 hollow microspheres were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal solution route with the assistance of Pluronic F-127. The as-prepared products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The experimental results indicated reaction time and surfactant have significant effects on the morphology of the as-prepared products. A possible formation mechanism has also been investigated on the basis of a series of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies of the product obtained at different durations. This well-controlled synthesis approach may be extended to fabricate complex hollow structures of other transition metal sulfide materials.

The aim of this study was to determine the changes in some physicochemical properties of olives (... more The aim of this study was to determine the changes in some physicochemical properties of olives (fruit weight, water content and oil content) and olive oils (total chlorophyll, carotenoid, pheophytin a, peroxide value and free acidity), and in the chemical properties (fatty acids, tocopherols, phenolics, oxidation stability and volatile profiles) of oils during ripening. Ripening indices (RI) of olive samples were 1.93 (unripe), 4.28 (ripe) and 5.89 (overripe). Most of the mentioned features changed with ripening. During ripening there was a sharp decrease in total chlorophyll, carotenoid and pheophytin a contents. An increase in oleic and linoleic acids and a decrease in palmitic acid were found in the fatty acid composition. Olive oils showed strong relations among oxidation stability, tocopherol content, total phenols content, and antiradical actvity of phenol extracts and these parameters decreased with maturation. Nevertheless, higher amounts of trans-2-hexenal were found in the oil from ripe olives than from unripe and overripe olives. On the other hand, the highest concentration of hexanal was found in the oil from overripe olives. In general, significant differences were observed in fruit weight, pigments, free acidity, fatty acid, tocopherol, and total phenolics contents, radical scavenger activity, oxidation stability, phenolic profile and volatile profile between the olive oils from the Gemlik cultivar at different stages of maturation.

In this work, the goal was to synthesize vanadium containing nanoparticles with solution plasma p... more In this work, the goal was to synthesize vanadium containing nanoparticles with solution plasma process (SPP) method. The solution plasma was produced by discharging with a bipolar DC power supply and the system was applied to 0.25 M aqueous solution of VOSO 4 •xH 2 O to prepare vanadium containing nanoparticles. The effects of different discharge times (0, 10, 20 and 30 minutes) and applied voltage (1500 V) during the synthesis were investigated. From all experiments same vanadium oxide compound(s)/mixture(s), named as "the product" and formulated as "V x O y ", were obtained. The product was tried to be characterized by using FTIR, TGA, DTA, XRD and FESEM-EDX analysis results.

We report the synthesis of metal–organic framework supported-Co-Ru (Co-Ru@MOF) catalyst and its c... more We report the synthesis of metal–organic framework supported-Co-Ru (Co-Ru@MOF) catalyst and its catalytic activity. The synthesized Co-Ru@MOF catalyst for the first time is used to obtain the maximum hydrogen production rate from hydrolysis of NaBH4. The synthesized Co-Ru@MOF catalyst indicates a compelling performance in the hydrogen production from the hydrolysis of NaBH4. It is found that Co-Ru@MOF with the loading of Co (80 wt%) and Ru (20 wt%) indicates a high hydrogen production rate of 15,144 mL/min.g and low activation energy of 41.41 kJ mol−1. The current study demonstrates that MOF is promising support for dispersing metal catalysts. Moreover, the synthesized Co-Ru@MOF catalyst is characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS) measurements.

Sert ve işlenebilir çelik, seramik, yarı iletken üretimi gibi birçok endüstriyel alanda vanadyum veya bileşikleri kullanılır. Sülfürik asit ve birçok organik bileşiğin üretimi gibi birçok alanda bileşikleri katalizör görevi görür. Canlılarda hücre dışı vücut sıvılarında VO 3 1− , hücre içi vücut sıvılarında ise VO 2+ formunda bulunur. Akciğerlerde çözünebilen vanadyum bileşiklerinin iyi absorbe edilmesine karşın vanadyum tuzları mide ve bağırsakta kolay emilime uğramazlar. Vanadyum muhtemelen temel bir eser element olmasına karşın vanadyum eksikliğinden dolayı herhangi bir hastalık insanlarda tespit edilememiştir. Genel olarak vanadyum bileşiklerinin toksisitesi düşüktür. Vanadyum kanserojen değildir, ancak kanserojen olma olasılığı göz önüne alınmalıdır. Yiyecekler, canlılar için esas vanadyum kaynağıdır. Genellikle vücuttaki vanadyumun fazlasını ortadan kaldırmak için yapılan önlemler gereksizdir çünkü vücutta vanadyum fazla kalmaz. Yani tedaviler destekleyicidir. Askorbik asit ve şelat oluşturucu deferoksamin ve 4,5-dihidroksi-1,3-benzendisülfonik asit bileşikleri vanadyum zehirlenmesine karşı kullanılabilir.

A novel coordination polymer [(VIVO)2(OH)2(C10H6(COO)2)]∞ based on vanadium(IV) and 2,6-naphthale... more A novel coordination polymer [(VIVO)2(OH)2(C10H6(COO)2)]∞ based on vanadium(IV) and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylato ligand has been prepared by hydrothermal synthetic method. The compound was characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy, room-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement, manganometric titration, bond valance sum calculations (BVS), and single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. BVS calculations, manganometric titration, and room-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement showed that the compound has paramagnetic property due to tetravalent vanadium ions. The single-crystal structure analysis of the compound illustrates a 2D metal organic framework structure. Coordination geometry of vanadium ions was a distorted square-pyramid (square-pyramidal coordination environment of oxygen atoms).
