Halotolerant microorganisms able to live in saline environments offer a multitude of actual or po... more Halotolerant microorganisms able to live in saline environments offer a multitude of actual or potential applications in various fields of biotechnology. This is why some strains of Halobacteria from an Algerian culture collection were screened for biosurfactant production in a standard medium using the qualitative drop-collapse test and emulsification activity assay (kebbouche-Gana et al., 2009). An isolate, strain E21 was obtained from a solar saltern located close to Ain Salah in the south of Algeria. The strain had salt growth requirement that was always between 1.5 and 4.0 M, the optimum of salts is at about 2.54 M, it was grew optimally at 40 ºC and pH 5.5-9.0. Analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequence indicates that the strain has 93 % sequence similarity with the genus Natrialba. A similarity (based on partial 16RNAr sequence) significant for possible species relatedness (98%) is found with the two validly described species Natrialba aegyptia 40 (99%) and Natrialba taiwanensis stra...

Il s'agit de la pollution créée par les déchets et les rejets de cette industrie. L'industrie laitière en est une de l'activité agro-alimentaire. En effet, à l'origine de la production de grandes quantités de lactosérum. Pour remédier à ce problème, de nombreux procédés sont envisageables. Parmi ceux-ci, on distingue la production d'Organismes Unicellulaires 'POU'. En effet, les besoins en protéines nobles ont considérablement augmenté. Ceci est due à leur richesse en facteurs de croissance. Ainsi, la recherche de nouvelles sources de protéines non conventionnelles, comme les Protéines d'Organismes Unicellulaires 'POU' s'impose.
