Composite hydroxyapatite-collagen-chitosan as bone graft materials for bone fracture has been syn... more Composite hydroxyapatite-collagen-chitosan as bone graft materials for bone fracture has been synthesized using exsitu method. Combining the advantages of hydroxyapatite with chitosan and collagen as composites bone material that it show good biocompatibility and can bond with surrounding host tissues inherent from hydroxyapatite. In this research hydroxyapaptite was synthesized from cow bone with calcination method. The main of this research is to determine the chemical and physics characteristics from the bone graft. The analysis data from Spectra IR indicated vibration of OH-, PO4 3and CO3 2from hydroxyapatite, also-NH2, C=O and C-H from collagen and chitosan along with the peak wave number shifting. The result from SEM characterization was indicated surface morphology formed mineral apatite layer with rough crystal.

Kitosan merupakan turunan kitin yang dapat diisolasi dari kulit udang, rajungan, kepiting, dan ku... more Kitosan merupakan turunan kitin yang dapat diisolasi dari kulit udang, rajungan, kepiting, dan kulit serangga lainnya. Kitosan menunjukkan sifat mampu menghambat pertumbuhan jamur dan bakteri yang bersifat patogen dan menyebabkan resistensi tumbuhan terhadap infeksi jamur dan virus. Produk ini berpotensi untuk menekan pertumbuhan jamur. Berdasarkan hal tersebut kitosan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif lain bahan pengawet alami untuk mengurangi penggunaan formalin yang dapat meracuni tubuh manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pelatihan kitosan sebagai pengawet alami serta menggunakannya pada industri tahu di Desa Tambak Sumur Sidoarjo untuk meningkatkan mutu dan menambah masa simpan tahu. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa, tahu mempunyai tekstur yang lebih kenyal, tidak mudah hancur, mempunyai aroma dan rasa yang lebih gurih dan lebih mengembang apabila digoreng dibandingkan dengan tahu tanpa penambahan kitosan. Berdasarkan hasil angket, responden menyatakan lebih menyukai tahu dengan tambahan kitosandan terbukti bahwa kitosan dapat meningkatkan daya simpan tahu sampai dengan 3 hari lebih lama dibandingkan tahu tanpa penambahan kitosan.

The research objectives are to (1) analyze Unesa lecturer research based on the distribution of faculties/departments/study programs; (2) analyzing trends in the research focus of Unesa lecturers; (3) analyzing the achievement of Unesa lecturer research outcomes compared with the target research outcomes; and (4) analyzing the profile of the service to the Unesa lecturer community based on the distribution of faculties/departments/study programs. The reference used in analyzing is from 2015-2019. The development model used is the Waterfall model with a linear development system. The research subject used was the procedure of developing Sistem Informasi Riset dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (SIRIP) in Higher Education. Data analysis techniques were carried out in three stages, namely pre-development, development, and post-development. Based on the results and discussion, the conclusions in this study are as follows. The results of the trial of Sistem Informasi Riset dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (SIRIP) using the black box testing method in accordance with 18 functional requirements of the system can run successfully. The profile of research in Unesa from 2015-2019 experienced a significant increase and decrease (fluctuation). The number of research titles funded from 2015-2019 was as many as 250 titles, 585 titles, 700 titles, 480 titles, and 447 titles. Meanwhile, the number of community service titles funded from 2015-2019 was 46 titles, 51 titles, 29 titles, 22 titles, and 338 titles, respectively.

In this study, chitosan-alginat and tween 80 composites were used as matrix encapsulation. The chitosan was mixed with variation of the composition of metformin-calcium alginate-tween 80. The effectivity of encapsulation was evaluated from surface morphology, functional group, % drug encapsulation efficiency and effect soaked on stability encapsulation. The metformin encapsulated was characterized to analysis of the functional group and particle size. The results showed that the metformin encapsulated a slightly rough surface with a good appearance. The drug encapsulation efficiency was about 7.06 to 30.32 %.

Some heavy metals are discharged without prior processing so it is feared that they can cause environmental pollution. The purpose of this research was to identify heavy metals from the laboratory activities waste and reduce that heavy metals using activated carbon and bentonite. The adsorption method using adsorbents such as activated carbon and bentonite is widely used to reduce metal contamination in waste and for analysis of heavy metal content in this research we used an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results of the analysis show the presence of several heavy metals such as Pb, Cu, Ag, Co, Cd, Cr and Hg. Identified laboratory waste results are quite high at 35 g/L for Cu, 1200 ppm for Pb metal and 220 ppm Ag. The chitosan-alginate membrane was used as adsorbents. Chitosan was prepared from shrimp wastes. Parameters investigated in this work such as medium of pH, adsorption rate (k1), energies (E) and capacity of adsorption (b). The kinetic model of first order reaching equilibrium and pseudo order 2nd Ho adsorption were applied to estimate the adsorption rate, whereas the isotherm adsorption Langmuir and Freundlich models were employed in the determination of the energy and the capacity in adsorption. The research type is quasi-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The research was given to 31 students in VIII-A class of Junior High School 16 Gresik. The effectiveness of differentiated learning materials oriented toward the nature of science (NoS) was obtained from the scientific literacy skills test and student response questionnaire. The student’s scientific literacy skills test showed an improvement in gain score between the pretest and posttest scores of 0.64, which is in the medium category; besides that, most students gave positive responses to the learning materials seen from the percentage of interest in learning materials 84.68% (very interested). Tulang sapi memiliki komposisi anorganik yang terdiri dari 93% hidroksiapatit dan 7% β-TCP. Hidroksiapatit merupakan biomaterial dengan struktur heksagonal yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai implan tulang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil karakterisasi secara kimia (gugus fungsional dan fasa) maupun fisika (kristalinitas) sintesis hidroksiapatit dari tulang sapi. Tulang sapi dipreparasi dengan cara direbus, dicuci dengan aquades, lalu direndam dengan larutan H2O2 selama 5 jam sehingga dihasilkan tulang sapi bebas lemak berwarna putih. Hidroksiapatit diperoleh dari hasil kalsinasi tulang sapi menggunakan furnace dengan suhu 900⁰C selama 6 jam. Encapsulation of metformin was carried out by using alginate and chitosan polymers with CaCl2 as a crosslinking agent and Tween 80 as a surfactant. A total of 30 mice were divided into 6 groups, namely the normal group with distilled water, the positive control group with metformin without encapsulation, the negative control group with Na-CMC (without drug treatment), and the treatment group (encapsulated drug with a composition of 1:1; 1:2; and 1:3). One way of the release control of the glibenclamide is the process of encapsulation using a blend... more One way of the release control of the glibenclamide is the process of encapsulation using a blend of calcium alginate-chitosan polymer with the addition of tween 80 surfactants. The resulting microparticles were analyzed for encapsulation efficiency, dissolution test in gastric and artificial intestinal pH solutions, functional groups, and surface morphology. The encapsulation efficiency showed that the Tween 80 with a concentration of 4% can produce the highestencapsulation efficiency of 65,2568%. The kinetic release of glibenclamide encapsulated on intestinal medium showed that the amount of glibenclamide dissolved in the gastric medium is lower than in the intestinal medium so that it can prevent gastric irritation by the mechanism of glibenclamide release through a combination of diffusion and erosion. The FT-IR spectra of the glibenclamide, alginate, chitosan, and glibenclamideencapsulated on the matrix showed that glibenclamide is only trapped physically in the alginatechitosan matrix. SEM test results show that the surface morphology of the glibenclamide is encapsulated smooth, porous small and there is no agglomeration.

The encapsulation of metformine performed using chitosan and calcium alginate polymers with calcium chloride as crosslink agent. The concentrations of calcium alginate were varieties 0.5%; 1.0%; 1.5%; 2.0%; 2.5%; and 3.0% (w/v). The results showed that the highest encapsulation efficiency of metformine on concentration of alginate 2.0% (w/v) and the lowest in the alginate 0% (w/v), respectively by 80.51% and 55.94%. The viability of using ultra fitration membranes made by blending 85% deacetylated chitosan and s... more The viability of using ultra fitration membranes made by blending 85% deacetylated chitosan and sodium alginate biopolymers with glutaraldehyde crosslink agent for separation uric acid was investigated. The membranes were characterized by FTIR to verify the polyion complex formation, SEM for observe morphology, tensile testing for mechanical stability and the ability of membrane in filtering uric acid. The results showed that surface and pore size that membrane in range of ultra filtration membrane and did not reveal any new functional groups so that the membrane formation occurred only electrostatic interaction. This membrane was able to filter out uric acid concentration of 90 mg/l, with the amount of uric acid filtered 48.23 mg/l.

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is the main material of bone structure which has chemical formula Ca10(PO4)6... more Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is the main material of bone structure which has chemical formula Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2. In this research, HAp synthesis use precursor calcium from crab shells and phosphate from H3PO4. Phosphate addition is done in single drop and wise drop. The calcinations of crab shell were done at 1000 °C for 5 hours. The FTIR analysis showed that there were functional groups of OH, CO3 2-, PO4 3and Ca-O. The XRD analysis of HAp showed that synthesis with wish drop method has the main phase of HAp and second phase is apatite carbonate. HAp that synthesized by single drop besides produce those phase also produce tricalcium bis(orthophosphate) phase. The synthesized HAp using the wise drop method has a larger surface area and pore volume but has a smaller pore size than that synthesis by using single drop method. In this study, chitosan-alginat and tween 80 composites were used as matrix encapsulation. The chitosan was mixed with variation of the composition of metformin-calcium alginate-tween 80. The effectivity of encapsulation was evaluated from surface morphology, functional group, % drug encapsulation efficiency and effect soaked on stability encapsulation. The metformin encapsulated was characterized to analysis of the functional group and particle size. The results showed that the metformin encapsulated a slightly rough surface with a good appearance. The drug encapsulation efficiency was about 7.06 to 30.32 %.

Some heavy metals are discharged without prior processing so it is feared that they can cause environmental pollution. The purpose of this research was to identify heavy metals from the laboratory activities waste and reduce that heavy metals using activated carbon and bentonite. The adsorption method using adsorbents such as activated carbon and bentonite is widely used to reduce metal contamination in waste and for analysis of heavy metal content in this research we used an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results of the analysis show the presence of several heavy metals such as Pb, Cu, Ag, Co, Cd, Cr and Hg. The chitosan-alginate membrane was used as adsorbents. Chitosan was prepared from shrimp wastes. Parameters investigated in this work such as medium of pH, adsorption rate (k1), energies (E) and capacity of adsorption (b). The research type is quasi-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The research was given to 31 students in VIII-A class of Junior High School 16 Gresik. The effectiveness of differentiated learning materials oriented toward the nature of science (NoS) was obtained from the scientific literacy skills test and student response questionnaire. The student’s scientific literacy skills test showed an improvement in gain score between the pretest and posttest scores of 0.64, which is in the medium category; besides that, most students gave positive responses to the learning materials seen from the percentage of interest in learning materials 84.68% (very interested). Tulang sapi memiliki komposisi anorganik yang terdiri dari 93% hidroksiapatit dan 7% β-TCP. Hidroksiapatit merupakan biomaterial dengan struktur heksagonal yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai implan tulang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil karakterisasi secara kimia (gugus fungsional dan fasa) maupun fisika (kristalinitas) sintesis hidroksiapatit dari tulang sapi. Tulang sapi dipreparasi dengan cara direbus, dicuci dengan aquades, lalu direndam dengan larutan H2O2 selama 5 jam sehingga dihasilkan tulang sapi bebas lemak berwarna putih. Hidroksiapatit diperoleh dari hasil kalsinasi tulang sapi menggunakan furnace dengan suhu 900⁰C selama 6 jam. Encapsulation of metformin was carried out by using alginate and chitosan polymers with CaCl2 as a crosslinking agent and Tween 80 as a surfactant. A total of 30 mice were divided into 6 groups, namely the normal group with distilled water, the positive control group with metformin without encapsulation, the negative control group with Na-CMC (without drug treatment), and the treatment group (encapsulated drug with a composition of 1:1; 1:2; and 1:3). One way of the release control of the glibenclamide is the process of encapsulation using a blend... more One way of the release control of the glibenclamide is the process of encapsulation using a blend of calcium alginate-chitosan polymer with the addition of tween 80 surfactants. The resulting microparticles were analyzed for encapsulation efficiency, dissolution test in gastric and artificial intestinal pH solutions, functional groups, and surface morphology. The encapsulation efficiency showed that the Tween 80 with a concentration of 4% can produce the highestencapsulation efficiency of 65,2568%. The kinetic release of glibenclamide encapsulated on intestinal medium showed that the amount of glibenclamide dissolved in the gastric medium is lower than in the intestinal medium so that it can prevent gastric irritation by the mechanism of glibenclamide release through a combination of diffusion and erosion. The FT-IR spectra of the glibenclamide, alginate, chitosan, and glibenclamideencapsulated on the matrix showed that glibenclamide is only trapped physically in the alginatechitosan matrix. SEM test results show that the surface morphology of the glibenclamide is encapsulated smooth, porous small and there is no agglomeration.

The encapsulation of metformine performed using chitosan and calcium alginate polymers with calcium chloride as crosslink agent. The concentrations of calcium alginate were varieties 0.5%; 1.0%; 1.5%; 2.0%; 2.5%; and 3.0% (w/v). The viability of using ultra fitration membranes made by blending 85% deacetylated chitosan and s... more The viability of using ultra fitration membranes made by blending 85% deacetylated chitosan and sodium alginate biopolymers with glutaraldehyde crosslink agent for separation uric acid was investigated. The membranes were characterized by FTIR to verify the polyion complex formation, SEM for observe morphology, tensile testing for mechanical stability and the ability of membrane in filtering uric acid. The results showed that surface and pore size that membrane in range of ultra filtration membrane and did not reveal any new functional groups so that the membrane formation occurred only electrostatic interaction. This membrane was able to filter out uric acid concentration of 90 mg/l, with the amount of uric acid filtered 48.23 mg/l.

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is the main material of bone structure which has chemical formula Ca10(PO4)6... more Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is the main material of bone structure which has chemical formula Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2. In this research, HAp synthesis use precursor calcium from crab shells and phosphate from H3PO4. Phosphate addition is done in single drop and wise drop. The calcinations of crab shell were done at 1000 °C for 5 hours. The FTIR analysis showed that there were functional groups of OH, CO3 2-, PO4 3and Ca-O. The XRD analysis of HAp showed that synthesis with wish drop method has the main phase of HAp and second phase is apatite carbonate. HAp that synthesized by single drop besides produce those phase also produce tricalcium bis(orthophosphate) phase. The synthesized HAp using the wise drop method has a larger surface area and pore volume but has a smaller pore size than that synthesis by using single drop method. The analyze morphology showed that HAp that synthesis using the wise drop method there is an agglomeration in morphology and the synthesis using single drop method has a smooth morphology with pores spread evenly
