Introduction his study investigates the level of anxiety about aging and its related factors among the students of Tehran University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences. Considering that communities around the world are aging and the life expectancy as well as population of the elderly is increasing, there is no doubt that research on aging and quality of life in old age is becoming increasingly important. T Anxiety about aging is one of the specific types of disorders with the component of fear of growing up and aging. Aging is a reality that everyone experiences at some point in their lives. This disorder is a psychological trauma that is not under the control of the individual. In order to overcome it, special treatment should be considered. Anxiety about aging affects both men and women. It can be argued that age-related anxiety can begin in childhood and adolescence and may peak in adulthood. Examining the prevalence of this fear, especially in people who are active in social spheres, can be a starting point for examining positive and negative views regarding aging and identifying positive factors that improve the quality of old

There are challenges to whether consciousness during this phenomenon is cerebral or extracerebral? To investigate this subject further, the AWARE research projects were designed. It was a research milestone in this field. During the AWARE projects, images were put in the cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) area. The person with experience of leaving the body was then asked about the nature of the images. In a recent project, a complementary system was designed that contains two main parts: a transmitter connected to the electroshock (as starter) and a receiver connected to the monitor. The laboratory experiment showed that the connection between the parts of the system was systematically and meticulously organized. This new system, such as the AWARE projects, is based on the perception of the visual and auditory elements, during the out-of-body experience component of the NDE but, unlike the AWAREs, it has three main differences in testing of visual elements: unfixed/dynamic images, “timed” movie's capacity, and the automatic activation. Also this system, records the ambient sounds. So, after the successful resuscitation, researchers will be asked about the ambient sounds specification. The new system records the ambient sounds. Consequently, it becomes feasible to study environmental and corporeal events in more detail, during the phenomenon.

Ziziphus jujube is one of these plants whose pharmaceutical effects have been studied for a long time. Recent investigations have proved that bioactive compounds of Ziziphus jujube including triterpenic acids, flavonoids, cerebrosides, phenolic acids, α tocopherol, β carotene, and polysaccharides have anti-proliferative effects on several cancerous cell lines and animals. The present study aimed to cover all previous invitro and invivo findings and some of molecular mechanisms of its anticancer property.

The aim of this study is to investigate the extent of mistreatment that the medical students experience in educational hospitals of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out using descriptive-analytical method. All medical students were studied in educational hospitals of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences by census method. A questionnaire with 26 questions was used to collect data on demographic information, experience of mistreatment and observation of mistreatment towards the other students and open-ended questions. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 18 software.
Results: The results of the study showed that 86.3% of the students experienced at least one kind of mistreatment during the previous year; among these misbehaved students 57.5% were female and 42.5% were male. The most cases of mistreatment were verbal mistreatment (95.1%) and abuse of authority (76.2%). The highest number of mistreatment has taken place in obstetrics and gynecology(OB-GYN) departments (60.3%) and in internal departments (49.2%), respectively; most of the individuals who misbehaved toward the students were residents (73%),nurses (66.7%), and interns (60.3).
Conclusion: Regarding the high prevalence of mistreatment against medical students, there is a need for a plan for training communication skills and more support for students in this field.

The research design used 108 participants. The questionnaire booklet given to students contained the Life Orientation Test Revised (LOT-R) and The Adult State Hope Scale. Results showed positive correlate between optimism and hopefulness in hospital employees. While these scores were significantly correlated, only 37 % of the variance in hope scores was explained by the variation in optimism scores. Optimistic people suffer less health problems and mental confusion and socially compatible and are hopeful, to people who are at a lower level of sense of humour. It makes sense to diminish some communication barriers such as intellectual ossification, negativism, personalization, extreme sensitivity, lack of constructive expression, anger, low self-esteem, and so on; that in the whole, person will have less interpersonal problems. Hopelessness leads to weak problem solving skills. Based on results of this study we suggest that e...

Silver sulfadiazine (SSD), apparently due to its antimicrobial effect, is still one of the most common prescribed agents. Previous studies suggested that Arnebia euchroma (AE) has shown antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities. This study investigates the healing effect of AE extract in comparison with SSD in second degree burn wounds. Fort eight female Wistar rats (220±20 g) were divided into four groups. Standard second degree burn wounds were induced on the back of their necks. One group was treated with SSD; two groups were treated with AE cream at concentrations of 10% (AE10) and 20% (AE20) and the control group which received no treatment. The duration of treatment was 28 days. This study revealed that AE and SSD noticeably improved re-epithelization, fibroblasts proliferation, and collagen bundle synthesis and had a noticeable anti-inflammatory effect ...

This study aims to evaluate the protective effects of MO on streptozotocin (STZ) induced pancreatic damage and thereupon diabetes in rats. Materials & Methods: To induce diabetes mellitus (DM) in rats, STZ (60 mg/kg) was injected intraperitoneally. Forty eight rats were randomly divided into four groups: control 1 (C1) consisted of healthy rats, control 2 (C2) consisted of non-treated diabetic rats, and treatment groups 1 and 2 (T1, T2) were the diabetics orally treated with 150 and 300 mg/kg MO for 14 days, respectively. After euthanizing the animals, their pancreases were extracted and sent for stereological evaluations. Volume density (Vv; %), the absolute volume of the islets (mm 3), numerical density of beta cells (Nv; per mm 3), and their total number (×10 6), were measured. P-value<0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Results: The treatment groups showed significant improvements in volume density and total volume of the islets as well as the numerical density and the total number of the beta cells (P<0.001). The treatment groups also had significantly lower blood sugar compared to the untreated group (P=0.008). Conclusion: According to our results, MO has shown promising effects on the pancreatic beta cells against toxic chemicals such as STZ. However, further studies are needed to examine the beneficial effects and possible adverse effects of MO in laboratory models and also in humans.
