In this study, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Primary science student teachers' learning styles were investigated. The participants were 387 student teachers in a teacher education course during the 2009/2010 academic year at Dicle University in Turkey. The questionnaire developed by Honey and Mumford (1992) was used as the data collection instrument. The data was analysed through SPSS 15.0 version by using t-test, correlations and ANOVA. The analysis of the data revealed that the majority of the participant student teachers strongly preferred learning styles described in the reflector, theorist and pragmatist sub-dimensions. The study found statistically significant differences among subject groups (Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Primary science) only in the pragmatist sub-dimension. Gender differences were found in the reflector and theorist sub-dimensions. Learning styles should be included in teacher education programmes in order to help student teachers to gain a better understanding of different learning preferences displayed by pupils.

The experiments have been carried out in a private high school in Diyarbakır/Turkey on groups of first year students whose pre-test scores of achievements and attitudes show no statistically significant difference. One of the groups received computer assisted, and the other were given instructions based on 7E model of the constructive learning method. An achievement test consisting of 29 multi-choice questions related to subject of electrostatics has been carried out to compare the group's achievements. A statistical analysis of achievement tests showed a significant difference between the students achievements at the knowledge and comprehension levels of cognitive domain (P<,05). On the other hand no difference was noted between their achievements at the application level of cognitive domain. To determine the effect of the instruction methods on the student's attitudes towards the physics course, a physics attitude scale was applied to both groups. The results have indicated that the student's attitudes towards physics learning were not affected by different instruction methods.

Data were gathered using a questionnaire containing multiple-choice and open-ended questions. The questionnaire was developed by the researchers and the reliability and validity of questionnaire were provided. During the preparation of the questionnaire the opinions of 20 experienced high school physics teachers working in different cities were taken. The opinion of an expert in physics education was taken for the validity of the questionnaire. For the reliability of the questionnaire meetings were arranged with 25 teachers in the study and it was observed that the reliability of the questionnaire was high.

Examining how students use this education management system is fairly important for the success of this system, and any possible results to be obtained are significant. For this purpose, the present study was conducted with 348 students attending an education faculty. In the study, the courses of 'Introduction to Computer' found in their curriculum were taught to the students for two academic terms with the e-learning management system. At the end of the academic year, a questionnaire was applied to the future pre-service teachers to determine their levels of satisfaction with e-learning. The results revealed no significant difference in the preservice teachers' levels of satisfaction with e-learning in terms of their gender, their education program and their department. In addition, it was revealed out that there was a significant difference at the significance level of p<.05 between their levels of satisfaction with e-learning and their levels of knowledge of Internet technologies It was found out that the students' mean score regarding their satisfaction with e-learning was calculated as =3.80, which referred to "I don't agree". The students thought that teaching a course with this method is important for learning new education management systems, and the students who were introduced to technology during their university education, reported that this education should be given following their university education.

The learners' perceptions of this new learning experience are also investigated. Information was obtained by using the Foreign Language Reading Anxiety Scale (FLRAS), the Computer Anxiety Scale (CAS) and learners' diaries. The study found that both anxieties decreased at the end of the application. A positive relationship between both types of anxiety was also identified. Students became more relaxed as they became more familiar with the new educational tool. They also displayed positive attitudes towards synchronous classes. This study demonstrates that anxiety free language learning can be created with interactive online facilities which are designed considering learners' needs and perceptions.

As a result, examinations executed via the Internet have become common, and a number of universities have started using distant education management system. Eventually, today, more people have a chance to take education. Measurement and evaluation applications carried out via the Internet are now quite important for education. In the present study, a valid and reliable attitude scale was developed to measure the attitudes of students doing the Distant Education Theology Undergraduate Education Program towards a web-based examination system (MOODLE).The study group was made up of 1287 3rd and 4th grade students registered in the Distant Education Application and Research Center. In the study, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted to determine the factor structure of the scale; confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to test its construct validity; and other validity analyses such as exploratory factor analysis, uni-dimensional factor analysis and two-dimensional factor analysis were applied. The research data were analyzed in computer with the package softwares of SPSS 18.0 and Lisrel 8.51.

The study was performed on 205 17-18-year-old students. Parents’ years of schooling was also found to be statistically important as socioeconomic factor to be considered in both policy and research on school-age children. It is found that parents’ education and students’ prior learning have direct effect on achievement and affective characteristics. On the other hand, family income has indirect effect on achievement and affective characteristics through student prior learning.
