This water then forms the drainage network. The negative environmental impacts caused in any portion of the basin may affect the quantity and quality of water. This study characterized the springs of Itanguá watershed, Capão Bonito, SP, considering their types, their conservation status, and the presence of negative environmental impacts. As for the type, springs were classified as "point" or "diffuse" and, regarding conservation status, they were ranked as "excellent", "good", "fair", "bad" and "very bad" based on macroscopic evaluation. Nineteen springs were identified and 15 visited; of these, nine were classified as "point", and six as "diffuse." O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar análises morfométricas da bacia hidrográfica do Ribeirão dos... more O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar análises morfométricas da bacia hidrográfica do Ribeirão dos Pinheirinhos que possam contribuir para melhoria da gestão de seus recursos naturais e planejamento ambiental. Para tanto, foram definidos parâmetros morfométricos a partir de dados cartográficos e planos de informação (PIs), utilizando-se o software SIG IDRISI versão Andes. A área de drenagem é de 92,57 km², sendo a forma da bacia alongada, devido ao Coeficiente de Compacidade (Kc) afastado de 1 (um) (1,647), Fator de Forma (0,622) e Índice de Circularidade (IC) (0,363) baixos. Tais índices indicam que a bacia é pouco circular, o que leva ao maior tempo de concentração das águas da chuva e menor risco de enchentes. A densidade de drenagem observada foi de 2,717 km.km-², indicando boa drenagem, confirmada pelo padrão dendrítico e grau de ramificação de quarta ordem. O relevo é plano a ondulado, com altitude mínima de 520 m e máxima de 834 m. A caracterização morfométrica mostra-se como ferramenta importante para conhecimento das condições físicas e interações que ocorrem na bacia hidrográfica, fornecendo subsídio ao diagnóstico, gestão e planejamento ambiental, com vista na conservação e manejo adequado para uso sustentável de seus recursos naturais.
