In this study, the biology of T. urticae on Sahel cultivar of cotton was investigated with 43 replications under laboratory condition with temperature 28±2ºC, humidity %60±5, and photo period 16:8 L: D. The result revealed that the average lifetime for female spider mite was 21.07±0.57 and for male 19.23±0.46 days. The average number of eggs laid by fertile female was 5.97±0.85 and infertile female were 6.31±0.6 eggs day. Incubation period for fertile eggs were 11.62±0.25 days and for infertile eggs were 10.69±0.93. The sex ratio of male to female was 1:2.3

The life expectancies (ex) of 1-day adults were determined 38.28 to 11.51 at 15 to 32.5oC, respectively. There were significant differences between demographic parameters of B. rubrioculus at various temperatures. Net reproduction rate (R0), generation time (tG) and intrinsic rate of increase (rm) ranged from 5.83, 42.79 and 0.041 at 15oC to 0.67, 24.15 and 0.025 at 32.5oC. The gross fertility (4.4 eggs) was recorded at 32.5oC, and the highest (29.5 eggs) was at 20oC. 20oC is the optimal temperature for B. rubrioculus population growth.

Potato has immense significance as a food crop throughout the world. In the last research, the most important and different aspects of predominant potato varieties; Agria, Arinda, Fontane, Banba and Sante were studied during 2015–2016 in Karaj, Iran. This research has been conducted into several disparate categories: the effect of environmental conditions on the physiological trends, aphid characteristics and virus infection. The results showed that potato fields had an increasing trend to the end of season in the aspect of infestation by Aphis gossypii Glover and Myzus persicae Sulzer. The potato cultivars showed the same reaction in the lab and no host preference was observed between them against cotton aphid (A. gossypii). Finally, Arinda, and Agria varieties had the most photosynthesis activity, chlorophyll concentration, and leaf dry weight values and had the least electrical conductivity and susceptibility to some potato virus diseases. These results may help to provide better potato varieties by considering to the important physiological characteristic related to some destructive pests.

The results showed that there was a significant difference in population of spider mites, so that the population on Sahel was more than Siokra for two years studied. The separate population figures for each year recorded 10.3 ± 0.6 eggs and 24.2 ± 1.3 mites on Sahel, 7.4 ± 0.4 eggs and 15.9 ± 0.9 mites on Siokra in first year whereas it was 22.6 ± 2.1 eggs and 35.2 ± 2.6 mites and also 8.6 ± 0.5 eggs and 16.9 ± 1.1 mites in second year for them. The results showed that effects of ambient temperatures on egg populations and number of active stages of mites was more favorable on Sahel compared with Siokra. Population assessment of mites on these two cultivars can be used in management of the pest.

In recent years, it has been damaged in orchards of Iran specially in Hamedan province. The winter eggs have an important role in increasing population mite hence, frequency of winter egg populations were recorded on four fruit trees orchards; sweet cherry (Prunus avium), sour cherry (Prunus cerasus), plum (Prunus domestica) and apple (Malus domestica) in this province located in the west region of Iran. The mean consecutive counts of the eggs were: 286.52, 18.93, 11.40 and 12.28 (eggs). It was also determined that sweet cherry was a more susceptible hosted whereas plum and apple were unsusceptible for this mite in the region. These results may be used as a useful factor to management strategy controlling mite's population.

humidity %60±5, and photo period 16:8 L: D. The result revealed that the average
lifetime for female spider mite was 21.07±0.57 and for male 19.23±0.46 days. The
average number of eggs laid by fertile female was 5.97±0.85 and infertile female were
6.31±0.6 eggs day. Incubation period for fertile eggs were 11.62±0.25 days and for
infertile eggs were 10.69±0.93. The sex ratio of male to female was 1:2.3

world and in GonbadKavous (located in North of Iran) is an important cotton cropping
region. The spider mites (Tetranychus spp., Acari: Tetranychidae) are the most damaging
pests on the field crops. Use of resistant cultivar is one of the foremost accepted
chemical-free techniques for controlling this pest. A two year study was conducted to
evaluate resistance of two most-cultivated cultivars, sahel and siokra, against spider
mites. The results showed that there was a significant difference in population of spider
mites, so that the population on Sahel was more than Siokra for two years studied. The
separate population figures for each year recorded 10.3 ± 0.6 eggs and 24.2 ± 1.3 mites
on Sahel, 7.4 ± 0.4 eggs and 15.9 ± 0.9 mites on Siokra in first year whereas it was 22.6 ±
2.1 eggs and 35.2 ± 2.6 mites and also 8.6 ± 0.5 eggs and 16.9 ± 1.1 mites in second year
for them. Mite’s populations increased from mid-season to the end of growing period. The
results showed that effects of ambient temperatures on egg populations and number of
active stages of mites was more favorable on Sahel compared with Siokra. Population
assessment of mites on these two cultivars can be used in management of the pest.
