Network is based on internet protocol suite which has a model known as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and a set of protocols. Model consists of TCP and IP as major protocols at transport and network layer respectively. TCP deals with end to end transmission and reassembly of packets. It also focuses on reliable and orderly transmission of packets. There are many TCP variants which are used in communication, such as Reno, Binary Increase Congestion control (BIC) and Vegas. TCP poses many issues like end to end delay in communication, congestion, connection management between sender and receiver end points. Congestion being one of the important issues affects the Quality of Service (QoS) of network and reduces overall network performance because of buffering of data in queue. Different Active Queue Management (AQM) algorithms which handle congestion are Random Early Detection (RED), Proportional Integral controller Enhanced (PIE), Controlled Delay (CoDel). These algorithms efficiently drop the packets when the buffer gets full or when it is near to full based on packet drop signal or other mechanisms. The article discusses about the importance of the right choice of TCP and AQM variant, results have been obtained by practical setup using flent and netpef traffic generator. The proposed work considers the study of different TCP and AQM variants for effective congestion control. Comparative study is conducted by considering selected TCP variant along with different AQM techniques. It reveals that TCP BIC along with CoDel provides less Iatency, high throughput and minimum packet drops.

To make easy the life of administrator of network, new technology is required and software-defined networking (SDN) is better solution. SDN provides ease of configuration, flexibility, agility, and security to manage the network. The main goal of SDN is separating the network configuration from traffic forwarding. This leads to gain control over the devices to forward required amount of traffic within the network. Load balancing in the Internet is essential to keep the performance of network at the expected level. SDN balances the load in the network more efficiently than traditional network. Authors propose the distributed load balancing algorithm using weighed round-robin (WRR) mechanism. Analytical model of WRR is proposed to represent the task of load balancing algorithm. Mininet emulator is used to set up the experimental test bed. Throughput and delay parameters are used to test the performance of the proposed algorithm. Results show the reduction of delay and increase the availability of bandwidth.

There have been multiple convenient ways to access videos and people can watch videos from numerous devices with outspread geographical locations irrespective of their network speeds. To make the video streaming adapt to varying network conditions, the adaptive bitrate algorithms (ABR) were developed. According to network conditions and throughput, the best available quality video chunk is played resulting in a considerable cut-back in buffering time, with which quality of experience (QoE) of the user is increased and makes the streaming services smooth. This ensures that watch content is of apt resolution according to the network speed. The ABR algorithms are based on fixed rule based logic and are specific to the device environment on which they are supposed to be deployed. Our proposed paper discusses the existing ABR algorithms and provides a comparative study of their performance with respect to QoE improvisations.

Apparently this roots in the exceptional flexibility possessed by the brain while learning. This trait of human learning bids an inspiration to Artificial Intelligence researchers to incorporate the human brain as a new design mechanism. The research opens a new perspective to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) with neural networks adding a key to mimic the functioning of the human brain. In contrast, recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and LSTMs can learn from ongoing experiences which will require additional neurons to store previous experiences. Here, the paper describes a simple methodology by taking the inventiveness from biological brains and recreating it as differentiable plasticity to adapt the features into learnings of neural network connections. Thereby, showing that plasticity participating with neural connection along with the Hebbian plastic connection rule can be optimized in recurrent neural networks. On the basis of a plastic neural network, a unique varied solution to image reconstruction tasks is experimented with and also affirmed that the traditionally used recurrent neural networks fall short to resolve these tasks. In this paper, an approach to novel problems to solve reconstructing and memorizing tasks is described on the sets of neoteric colored images by tracing plastic recurrent networks. In addition, this method is evaluated against existing models of RNN's to endorse the results. Hence, concluding that the plasticity method provides a firmer way to solve meta-learning situations in the new era of technology.
