However, for better storage and processing, the majority of records are currently only available in electronic format. As a result of digitization, the field of forensic document analysis has improved and evolved to keep up with the times, as it has become relatively easy for anyone to change any type of document using various image modification tools. The current study focuses to examine documents that have been manipulated by computers using open-source image processing tools. Forensically beta, FotoForensics, and Adobe Photoshop tools were used to analyze the sample documents that had been altered. The results suggest that these image processing tools can be used to analyze digitally modified documents to detect manipulations and thus can help Forensic document examiners. The present work reveals that some minute characteristics are present in the transplanted documents which can be identified by careful analysis of soft copies of documents with tools present in Forensically beta, FotoForensics,

The basis that Forensic odontology has gained wide acceptance in the field of criminal justice is because no two people have identical teeth. Bite mark pattern was analyzed to study the odontometric measurements like mieso-distal incisor width and inter canine ratio and to check for the presence of sexual dimorphism between ages of 16-25. A total of 40 samples i.e. 20 males and 20 females were considered for the study. Their class and individual characteristics were also noted. In the present study, on the basis of odontometric parameters like arch length and inter canine ratio sexual dimorphism in males and females can be determined. Also, the study revealed class characteristics and the individual characteristics i.e. odontometric parameters.

Research paper thumbnail of Microbial Biogeography and Specificity as a Tool of Identification in Forensic Caseworks-A Review based on Meta analysis

Variety of materials and environment like air, soil and water represent a distinctive prospect to discover the dissemination of microorganisms in built and natural environments because of high densities of human population and occurrence of various evolution processes. Such wide and high diversity in microorganism distribution created unique bio geographical and specific pattern of microbial communities. Therefore, in the present review various studies carried out to assess the biogeographical and environmental specific pattern of microorganisms were used for Meta analysis and discussed for their utility in forensic caseworks.

Assuming and concluding the same requires several destructive presumptive and confirmatory assays. Moreover, if the retrieved quantity is scarce, then these destructive assays prove to be a gross discrepancy in forensic leads. This pilot study aims to promote the use of Visual Spectral Comparator (VSC) as a non-destructive presumptive technique to analyze the questioned stain. The technique is not definite but indicative and is based on the unique spectral characteristics of blood. Simultaneously the study also proposes that the use of porous material as the platform for the collection of blood yields comparatively good results visa -vis non porous methods as used in the above experimental study. The results were concluded on the basis of 25 blood samples collected on porous and non-porous surfaces from 25 healthy individual subjects and waste animal blood samples. Finding suggests that it can be an instrument of choice for routine analysis of blood samples in laboratories.
