This approach emphasizes on pre-defined attributes required in a graduate engineer. Based on evaluation of OBE, the attainment process of programme outcome (PO) is defined for qualitative education. To show that an outcome has been met, the OBE requires evidence of evaluation. An evaluation framework has been designed and developed by considering the engineering stream students. The tools of attainment are built by considering different parameters of the respective curriculum to measure the attainment of POs. In the OBE system, there is no single specified technique of teaching and assessment to achieve the specified outcomes..

Research paper thumbnail of Dynamic earth-contact building: A sustainable low-energy technology

This paper includes in its scope all building structures in which a significant area is in direct contact with the earth, and excludes indirect earth contact. A two-dimensional simplified analytical Fourier boundary series was developed to study dynamic earthcontact heat transfer and humidity variation in building. It was used in conjunction with the whole-building energy simulation program developed in the TRNSYS environment. The predictions were compared with extensive experimental data measured from typical existing earth-contact buildings situated in the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi campus. Heat transfer through earth-contact building structures was predicted to decrease with increasing soil contact. The results obtained from the detailed model showed that earth-contact structures form excellent passive technology that can be exploited for energy conservation. This work is part of an effort to develop zero energy building models in India. The presented model can be easily incorporated into indirect earth-contact structures in order to describe the impact of cooling tubes, earth-air tunnels or heat pumps in indoor environment.

Air pollution modelling is the term used to describe using mathematical theory to understand or predict the way pollutants behave in the atmosphere. Modelling enables to develop scenarios, test theories and understand the impact under different emission rates. Data such as emission factors, emission rates, sources enable studies to propagate [1]. Primarily, air pollution modelling aids to assess the complete imaginary situation, for instance, the impact of certain modifications in an industrial operation will result in how much changes in air pollution levels, etc. These emission rates can be fed into models, which can simulate real-life scenarios, thus quantifying the levels of pollution and hence what necessary precautionary measures to be adopted [2].
