UCS had significantly decreased intrinsic connectivity throughout the prefrontal cortex (PFC, p=0.031). On seed-based analysis, UCS had significantly increased connectivity between left BA-40 and bilateral BA-6, BA-8, and BA-9, and left BA-32 (p=0.050), between left BA-7 and the anterior PFC (p=0.065), and between left BA-7 and right BA-7 and BA-9 (p=0.077). MSO demonstrated increased connectivity between the left BA-7 seed and the right inferior frontal gyrus and right insula (p=0.090).

Suturing the peritoneal layers at CS may or may not confer needful benefi ts, hence there is a need to evaluate whether this step should be carried on or omitted. Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of leaving the peritoneum open at lower segment CS (LSCS) measured by post-operative pain.

Because of its rarity, the association, diagnosis and treatment are not uniformly described. Discussion: We discuss the rarity, etiology, clinical presentation, associated conditions, diagnosis and treatment. We review the literature to provide a guide on the approach and management of this silent yet possibly ominous disease. Conclusion: Physicians need to be aware of this rare anomaly and all the various associated conditions, and should use a multi-disciplinary approach with careful long-term follow-up.

After CS skin layer is repaired by stitching subcuticular layer immediately with an interrupted stitch or skin staples. Objective: The objective of the study is to establish the best method of wound closure after CS that would bring patient satisfaction that which includes factors like cosmesis and pain. Materials and Methodology: A sample of 100 patients was randomly selected and divided into two groups. In one group subcuticular sutures and in other group staples were used. Follow-up was done after 6 weeks to evaluate primary outcome like patient satisfaction that includes wound cosmesis and pain and also to know secondary outcome as wound complications. Results: In women undergoing abdominal operations there was no difference as regards the patient satisfaction in both the groups, subcuticular sutures n = 51 versus staples n=49 (P = 0.76). It was observed...

A novel technique to retrieve a maldeployed vascular closure device

Journal of endovascular therapy : an official journal of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, 2015

To report a novel technique for endovascular retrieval of a maldeployed vascular closure device, ... more To report a novel technique for endovascular retrieval of a maldeployed vascular closure device, obviating the need for a femoral cutdown. To remove a 6-F Angio-Seal device that embolized to the superficial femoral artery, the contralateral common femoral artery was accessed, and an 8-F, 65-cm-long sheath was inserted just proximal to the embolus. A second semistiff 0.035-inch buddy wire was advanced past the lesion along the sheath. A 0.014-inch wire was advanced past the embolus, and a SpiderFX embolic protection device was deployed 1 cm past the embolized Angio-Seal device. The sheath was advanced so as to push the embolus into the filter. The sheath and the filter containing the Angio-Seal device were then removed. Endovascular retrieval of an embolized Angio-Seal device can be done using an embolic filter device, restoring arterial flow to the limb.
