Petunjuk teknis ini diharapkan dapat memberikan alternatif baru dalam pengasapan ikan menggunakan asap cair, terutama di daerah yang banyak menghasilkan limbah kayu, tempurung kelapa, dan cangkang sawit. Dengan demikian, diharapkan dapat mengurangi buangan hasil panen dan dapat menjadi sumber pendapatan baru bagi masyaraka

One of the crucial aspects related to the production of fish is post-harvest fish loss which will substantially reduce the fish supply. Due to the perishable characteristics of fish, especially in tropical climate areas as Indonesia with high daily temperature and humidity, the situation will be more crucial and the reduction in quantity and/or quality could be considerably high. In the other side, the figure of fish stock potency does not indicate the available fish for further processing yet. Therefore, the figure will be more meaningful when it is corrected by the loss. Until recently, post-harvest fish loss in Indonesia is estimated as high as 30%; this figure has been used as reference for decades eventhough many effort has been done to reduce the fish loss. Penelitian rancang bangun penampungan lobster dengan menggunakan bak serat kaca bertingkat yang d... more Penelitian rancang bangun penampungan lobster dengan menggunakan bak serat kaca bertingkat yang dilengkapi dengan sistem biofiltrasi untuk mempertahankan mutu air pada penampungan lobster hijau pasir (Panulirus humarus) telah dilakukan. Sistem biofiltrasi disusun dengan menggunakan dua macam bahan, yaitu pasir dalam bak tersendiri dan koral dalam bak bersekat, kemudian diinokulasi dengan lumpur tambak dan dibiarkan selama dua minggu. Airhasil filtrasi digunakan untuk penampungan dan pembugaran lobster.

Carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCts) is one of the chitosan derivatives produced by the carboxymethylat... more Carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCts) is one of the chitosan derivatives produced by the carboxymethylation process of chitosan. Compared to chitosan which is soluble in weak acid, the CMCts is soluble in water and it becomes more desirable in many applications both in pharmaceutical and food industries. Chitosan as the raw material of CMCts was made from chitin deacetylation. The reasearch aimed to study the effect of chitin deacetylation methods and concentrations of sodium hydroxide in the alkalination process on the characteristics of CMCts produced. Three deacetylation processes were applied in the production of chitosan, i.e. treatment with 60% NaOH at 70 o C for 2 and 3 days, and treatment with 60% NaOH at ambient for 5 days. This study used raw material of sap-free seaweed for ATC processing. Sap-free seaweed is a seaweed which thallus has been extracted with liquid known as sap. The use of sap-free seaweed as an ATC product is constrained by its low quality, so an effort to improve its quality is needed. Therefore the obejcetive of this Research was to get the optimal conditions of ATC processing. Experimental data were designed and analyzed using Response Surface MethodologyCentral Composite Design (RSM-CCD) using Design Expert 10.0.7® program. The optimization of ATC processing involved three components that were considered influential, namely KOH concentration, temperature, and processing time. Chi with a degree of deacetylation (DD) of 84% complexed with Alg at a mixing ratio (MR) of 0.2 was used to study Chi-Aig concentration and treatment time protein recovery effects. Insoluble SWW solids were removed by centrifugation and the supematant was then adjusted to pH 6. Flocculation at 20°C using Chi-Alg at 20, 40, 100 and 150 mg/L SWW was aided by 5 mm agitation and holding for 30 mm, lh and 24h. Concentration had an effect between low (20 and 40 mgIL) and high (100 and 150 mg/L) levels. Time had an effect between 30 mm and lh but not between 1 and 24 h. Bakteri yang hidup di limbah yang banyak mengandung protein dan lemak tersebut diperkirakan memiliki kemampuan untuk menghidrolisis lemak menjadi asam lemak dan gliserol sehingga berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai bioremedian alami bagi penanganan air limbah hasil perikanan di tempat lain. Marine debris, especially plastic debris, is becoming global awareness, including in Indonesia, d... more Marine debris, especially plastic debris, is becoming global awareness, including in Indonesia, due to the possible harmful effects on the environment and humans. The present study is the first assessment of the floating plastic debris in Jakarta Bay based on an at-sea survey. The study aimed to overview the accumulation of plastic debris in different zones (west, middle, and east) of the bay as the impact of wet and dry seasons. The results showed that plastic debris was found in most sampling stations with a maximum concentration of 10,300 and 7,400 items/km2 in the wet and dry seasons, respectively. Based on the plastic types, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polystyrene (PS) were the main accumulated plastic debris in Jakarta Bay with a predominant macro size between 2.5 and 20 cm. The margin obtained at the upstream in the Indonesian commercial seaweed supply chain is generall... more The margin obtained at the upstream in the Indonesian commercial seaweed supply chain is generally small and makes the motivation for business development low. The research aimed to identify the opportunities to overcome these problems. The research conducted with the Kaizen analysis approach that seven upstream business nodes were chosen at three locations: two Gracilaria sp. farmers and one Gracilaria sp. trader in Brebes, one Eucheumatoid farmer and one intermediary trader in Serang, also two Eucheumatoid farmers in Sumenep. The results show some inefficiency in several loci in the business lines of intermediate farmers and traders. These include a gap on moisture content (Gracilaria of 2 % and Eucheumatoid of 4 %), productivity of Gracilaria pond 0.6 t ha–1 yr–1 and its by-product is 50 %, while the productivity of Eucheumatoids was 10 %. However, it is stated that these fish contains high formaldehyde up to 200 ppm, which is strongly suspected naturally due to deterioration. Furthermore, the aim of this study is to obtain the data of probabilistic health risk assessment due to consumption of opah fish that contaminated with natural formaldehyde. The study was conducted on opah fish (Lampris guttatus) that were analyzed the formaldehyde concentration in it. However, it is stated that these fish contains high formaldehyde up to 200 ppm, which is strongly suspected naturally due to deterioration. Furthermore, the aim of this study is to obtain the data of probabilistic health risk assessment due to consumption of opah fish that contaminated with natural formaldehyde. The study was conducted on opah fish (Lampris guttatus) that were analyzed the formaldehyde concentration in it. Along with the consumption data, body weight and the formaldehyde concentration included two others simulations of two times and four times of formaldehyde value, probabilistic dietary exposure was calculated by @Risk and produced some data regard to health risk.
