And, the processes of evaluation of antifungal susceptibility are often different to one laboratory to another. This study was undertaken in the goal to compare parameters obtained (MIC and MFC) with two antifungal susceptibility testing. The first one is Agar slant double dilution tubes method (M1) and the second is disc diffusion method /broth dilution according document CLSI M38 -A2 supplemented to 2% glucose (M2). Ethanol (EtOH 70%), Methanol (MeOH) and n-Hexane (n-HexTG) extracts of leaves of Tectona grandis have been tested in comparison to Itraconazole against two clinicals strains of Aspergillus fumigatus 896/AB and Aspergillus flavus 1006/OM isolated to HIV patients. Results showed that on A. flavus, agar slant method (M1) gave MIC ranging between 200 µg/mL and 800 µg/mL while disc diffusion meth/broth dilution (M2) showed growth inhibiti...

Scope: Evaluate the biological properties of the essential oil of this plant. Methods: Antitumor activity was assessed using the MTS colorimetric assay on six (06) cell lines, the antifungal activity was evaluated by double dilution slant method on four (04) strains of clinical fungi, the potential antioxidant was determined by the DPPH test. Results: The strongest cytotoxic activity was obtained on Jurkat (T lymphoma) with an IC50 = 80 μg / ml. The best antifungal activity was observed on C. albicans with MIC and FMC values obtained at 12.5 μg / ml. Antioxidant activity was evaluated at F = 187 ± 1.57 mM Trolox / ml or (I = 38 ± 0.74%). Conclusion: The essential oil has interesting biological properties like as cytotoxic, antifungal and antioxidant

Chev. (Combretaceae). Methods: In vitro antifungal activity of all the extracts was done by agar slant double dilution method. Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus clinically important strains were used for the study. ketoconazole was used as standards for antifungal assay. Antifungal activity was determinated by evaluating of antifungal parameters values which are MCF (minimal concentration fungicide) and IC50 (Concentration for 50% of inhibition) around each assay. Results: Result showed that the antifungal activity was more pronounced against Aspergillus fumigatus than Candida albicans. The hydroalcoholic extract showed best antifungal activity than ketoconazole. Conclusion: Demonstration of antifungal activity of T. ivorensis provides the scientific basis for the use of this plant in the traditional treatment of diseases and may help to discover new chemical classes of antifungal substances that could serve as selective agents for infectious disease chemotherapy.

Ointments of different concentrations made from the hydroethanolic extract of Terminalia ivorensis and shea butter were used. The best results were obtained with the following concentrations: C4: 0.01 g/mL; C5: 0.0125 g/mL; C6: 0.015 g/mL and C10: 0.025 g/mL for trichophytic clipping moth on eleven (11) selected persons with ringworm and C9: 0.0225 g/mL for microsporic clipping moth on one (1) person. The present study really provides the scientific basis for the use of this plant in the traditional treatment of diseases and may help to discover new chemical classes of antifungal substances that could serve as selective agents for infectious disease chemotherapy.

Appl. Biosci. 2020 Evaluation de l'activité antifongique des extraits totaux de Hugonia platysepala sur les pathogènes responsables de cryptococcoses et de candidoses chez les sujets infectés par le VIH 15047 Evaluation of antifungal activity of Hugonia platysepala extracts on ccryptococcosis and candidiasisresponsible pathogens in HIV-infected people ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate in vitro the antifungal activity of total extracts from the leaves of Hugonia platysepala, a medicinal plant in southwestern Côte d'Ivoire in order to treat the fungi of people in poor countries infected with HIV/AIDS at a lower cost. Methodology and results: The liquid dilution macromethod and solid-media scattering method have been used for antifungal testing. The results revealed that both water extracts (ETA) and hydro alcoholic (ETOH) have fungicide activity on Cryptococcus neoformans and Candida albicans but ETOH extract is 32 times more active than ETA extract with a 1.56 mg/ml CMI and CMF 50 mg/ml. Tested on an isolate of Candida albicans resistant to Amphotéricin B and Fluconazole, ETOH obtained an inhibition zone above the 10 mm sensitivity threshold. Conclusion and application: ETOH therefore has a fungicide effect on strains of Cryptococcus neoformans and Candida albicans, sensitive or resistant to conventional antifungals regularly prescribed to patients. The phytochemical screening of this ETOH extract revealed the presence of terpenes and polyphenols that could justify its antifungal pharmacological properties. The ETOH extract of Hugonia platysepala, after purification of its active molecules, can be used as an Improved Traditional Drug in the treatment of fungus in HIV-infected people.
