The world has progressed in such a rapid manner that traditional agriculture has aggressively been replaced by modern agricultural approaches and methods. Traditional knowledge and innovations relating to food and agriculture are widespread, viable and sustainable. The subject matter of protection traditional knowledge may include agricultural, environmental and knowledge associated with genetic resources. Protection of the traditional knowledge and results of the modern agriculture, under existing models of intellectual property rights could involve: copyrights, patents, plant varieties, trademarks, geographical indications and appellations of origin. While patents protect new and inventive products and processes, geographical indications protect traditional knowledge and skills associated with certain products which are typically passed down through generations, and have a strong link...

The bands most sensitive to substituent effects from the broad and multiple IR NH band for each compound were selected by a computer calculation. The selected values of the IR frequencies and the determined 1 H-NMR chemical shifts were subjected to LFER analysis, by correlations with the Hamett σ m/p and Swain–Lupton F and R substituent constants.

IP is treated as an asset and a part of the company's portfolio and can be sold, licensed or used for debt finance. Valuation of IP is very important, especially to secure loans or finances for business.

Kljuĉne reĉi: intelektualna svojina, cene, lekovi Summary: No doubt the granting of patents (and intellectual property protection) has been key to ensure high returns for the innovative pharmaceutical industry. These barriers to entry to competitors have allowed the innovative industry to price its medicines at values that the market could bear ensuring high returns of the investment in the research end development. At the same time, the generic industry, which has played a key role in providing more affordable live saving medicines for consumers (patients), after expiration of the patents for the origin medicines, could be innovative too. Therefore, markets and societies need both types of companies and medicines. An informative and analytical view on healthcare policies on pricing and reimbursement could help the pricing and reimbursement strategy planning process in a state.

Such development of the pharmaceutical industry was highly influenced by the introduction of patent protection and compliance with intellectual property regulations. One of the most important international obligations is the TRIPS Agreement.

The exact rheological characterisation of the system is very important due to its stability and transportation through the pipe system into the reaction vessel. Box-Behnken design was used to estimate the effect of the concentrations of cations and the content of active pharmaceutical ingredient on the rheological properties of the system. The relationship between one or more response functions and a set of independent variables can be examined by using response surface methods, such as Box-Behnken designs. The concentration of Na+ and Mg2+ ions as well as the content of AIPO4, ranged from the optimum set of conditions to their minimum and maximum values. The viscosity, yield stress point and thixotropy of the colloidal system were used to assess the rheological properties of the AIPO4 suspension. The system was characterised using a second o...

The reaction was investigated under the conditions of both two-and three-phase catalysis, and the reaction products were identified and characterized by chromatographic and spectrometric methods. It was possible to optlmise both processes in such a manner that the main product was a compound of special interest: 1-(1-naphthoxy)-2,8epoxypropane, an important intermediate in the production of the beta-blocker and anti-oxidant propranolol, I-(isopropylamino)-3-a-(l-naphthoxy)-2-propanol. From the technological point of view, the use of a solid-phase catalyst is advantageous, and the catalysis by an anion exchange resin with quaternary ammonium groups was investigated in detail.

A variety of substituents were employed for both alkyl and aryl substitution, and fairly good correlations were obtained, using simple Hammett and Hammett-Taft dual parameter equations, as well as the more sophisticated multiparameter regression approaches. It was established that both polar and steric effects influence the spectra of the investigated compounds.

Both base homogeneous and heterogeneous PTC catalysis were employed. High yields and remarkable selectivity were achieved. The improved purity is particularly important, in view of the quality requirements for propranolol hydrochloride as an active pharmaceutical ingredient.
