This pattern is seen in plants in various levels. The growth curve of corn seeds were analyzed through the exposure of the seed to varying doses of radiation namely 50 kilorad, 30 kilorad, 10 kilorad and 0 kilorad (control). Ten seeds were exposed per dose and were planted in a plot containing four hills, each representing a specific treatment. The control obtained the highest percent germination (100%) while 10 krad obtained the highest percent survival (100%). Thus, gamma radiation inflicts a negative effect in the growth of corn with increasing dose.
