The total population comprised 71,471 Senior Secondary School (SSS) students and, 4, 56 SSS teachers from both private and public secondary schools in the State. The stratified random sampling was used to obtain a strata from the population while the simple random sampling technique was used to obtain a sample of 377 teachers and 397 students. The Taro Yamane's formula was used to determine the sample size. The instrument for data collection were two sets of researchers' made questionnaires and observation schedule which were thoroughly validated by experts in Test, Measurement and Evaluation, and ICT respectively. The test-retest approach was used to determine the reliability of the instruments. The validity of the instrument was determined using the Pearson product Moment Correlation Coefficient and, the values obtained were 0.91 (for teacher questionnaire) and 0.95 (for students' questionnaire). The descriptive statistics such as mean, frequency, percentage and Standard deviation were used to analyse the quantitative data using SPSS 23. The findings revealed that, the extent of ICT integration in the teaching and learning process by teachers and students in secondary schools in the State is very low. Moreover, the study found that, majority of the schools lack ICT facilities. Furthermore, the study revealed that, the rate of digital illiteracy among the students is very high and their perception of ICT in education is very shallow. The study recommended among others that, ICT facilities should be provided for the schools to facilitate ICT integration in the teaching and learning process. It also recommended that, secondary school teachers should be regularly trained on the use and application of ICTs in education.

Sixty eight (68) students in Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia constituted the experimental group while fifty two (52) students in Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa constituted the control group. The experimental group was exposed to multimedia instruction (MI) on DSA while the control group was exposed to conventional instruction. The instrument for data collection was a DSA performance test titled 'Data Structure PerfTest (DPT)'. The DPT contained 20 objective items from the topics treated. The reliability of the instrument was determined using the test-retest approach and a correlation coefficient of .87 was attained. Inferential statistics such as ttest was used to test the null hypothesis at 0.05 alpha level of significance. Data analysis was done using the statistical package for social science (SPSS). The finding showed that the treatment group (MI) performed significantly better than its counterpart in the control group which was exposed to conventional instruction. The study recommended expansive use of multimedia instruction in teaching and learning of Data Structures and Algorithms in tertiary institutions.

The study adopted a descriptive survey research approach. The proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used to obtain 160 respondents from public secondary schools in Lafia, Akwanga and Keffiareas of the State. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was determined using Cronbach Alpha reliability test, and a value of 0.84 obtained. The data collected were analyzed using inferential statistics. Three research questions guided the study. Theresults of the findingsrevealed that, ICT ability of secondary school teachers in Nasarawa State is very low. It is within the average percentage of 27.8% which falls within levels 0 and 1of the Personal Capability Maturity Model (PCMM). Level 0 means that, majority of the teachers do not know at all and do not care about the importance of ICT while Level 1 means that, some of the teachers have had one or two experiences, where information is an important component for achieving their desires and solving problems, and have involved information technology to look for it. The study also revealed that, there was a significant difference between the ICT ability of male and female teachers. The male teachers were discovered to be more open and enthusiastic towards new media than the female teachers. Also, based on age, the ICT ability of the teachers was inversely proportional to their age. The older the age of the teacher, the lower his ability inICT, and the younger the age of the teacher, the higher his ability in ICT. The study recommends that, Nasarawa State Government should regularly organize in-service ICT training for all secondary school teachers; the Government and all agencies responsible for teachers' recruitment should include ICT literacy skills as one of the cardinal requirements for employments; ICT equipment should be provided in all secondary schools in the state to facilitate ICT integration into the teaching and learning process; teachers who are older in ageand cannot cope with the dynamic nature of the 21 st century education should retire compulsorily; secondary school teachers in the state should strive to go global, collaborate, get smarter and learn new educational technologies so as to keep abreast with the 21 st century global education objectives and finally, there should proper sensitization for the female teachers on importance of emerging technologies in education. They should be encouraged to understand that, technology does not know gender and so, they should be open and positive towards new media.
