One of the most important requirements of the medical mobility equipment and the other small elec... more One of the most important requirements of the medical mobility equipment and the other small electric-powered vehicles is the renewable and movable energy storage systems. The present tendency is to develop an alternative power source by reducing the size and weight, long life, useful, and by extending the cycle life, while retaining the other attractive features of the lead-acid batteries. In this study, the applicability of the alternative battery systems, (i.e. fuel-cell batteries, flywheels and others) for medical mobility equipment is reviewed as a promising renewable power source, which can be utilized instead of the conventional batteries.

This causes a great energy consumption and environmental pollution. Tribology defined as ''friction, wear, lubrication science and technology'' has a great importance in terms of automotive industry. Major part of the energy consumed in automobiles is used to create frictions or overcome the frictions. Likewise the most important factor determining the lives of automobile and their components is the wear occurred on the surface of the material and meant as unwanted material loss. Automobiles are like a wide gallery of tribological elements and they consist of a large number of tribological components having different movements and contact forms. ÖZET Tekerlekli sandalyeler, engelliler tarafından yılın 365 günü kullanılan en önemli mobilite a... more ÖZET Tekerlekli sandalyeler, engelliler tarafından yılın 365 günü kullanılan en önemli mobilite araçlarından birisidir. Dolayısıyla kullanıcıya ve kullanım şartlarına uygun tekerlekli sandalye tasarımı, imalatı ve özellikle seçimi birinci dereceden önemlidir. Tekerlekli sandalye kullanımının nedenleri travmatik yaralanmalar, yaşlılık ve kronik dejeneratif hastalıklar şeklinde üç ana kategoride değerlendirilmektedir. Bu çalışma iki ana bölüm üzerine inşa edilmiştir. Birinci bölüm, tekerlekli sandalye seçimi konusunda, temel kaynak konumunda olan ve Türkçeye de çevirdiğimiz Rory Cooper'in "tekerlekli sandalye seçimi ve konfigürasyonu" isimli kitabının kısa bir özetini, ikinci bölüm ise tekerlekli sandalye seçim ve konfigürasyonunda; antropometri, ergonomi, fizyoloji bilimlerinin verileri, tekerlekli sandalyeler konusunda günümüz teknolojik düzeyi, sosyal ve ekonomik gerçekler dikkate alınarak oluşturulan bilgisayar yazılım algoritmasını içermektedir. Çalışmada, tekerlekli sandalye rehabilitasyonunda, doğru tekerlekli sandalye seçimi konusunda; doktor, terapist, tasarımcı, imalatçı ve sosyal yardım kuruluşlarının, bilinç düzeyini artıracak kriterler, kullanıcı odaklı bir yaklaşımla, tartışmalı, karşılaştırmalı ve optimistik bir çerçevede verilmeye çalışılmıştır.

This paper presents summary information from literature review on daylighting in buildings. Almos... more This paper presents summary information from literature review on daylighting in buildings. Almost one-quarter of the total electricity produced has been using for artificial lighting both commercial and state building interiors in developed and developing countries. The last century experienced some remarkable events, which showed us the importance of energy stability of the world's economic. After the first oil price shock in 1973, the new technologies focused on more efficient and renewable energy use. Recently, new issues in daylighting design have been raised in conjunction with new demands by the building industry. One of challenges is to bring usable daylight deep into the core of commercial buildings or in non-daylit areas. This may result in significant savings in energy consumption while creating an attractive visual environment. Hybrid solar lighting system is one of the most significant lighting alternatives.
