Using on-farm trial data from a research farm in the Mahi ravines, yield-erosion relationship has been estimated and erosion damage function has been developed with local output and input prices realized by smallholder farmers. Pearl millet + pigeon pea being the most prominent cropping systems on smallholder farms in the Mahi ravines, has been taken for study. Farmers' existing erosive practice has been compared with a conservation practice, viz. ridge and furrow technique (RFT). According to the study, a decline in yield to the extent of 50 per cent and 75 per cent will take much longer period in the case of conservative practice than in erosive practice. The paper has also studied farmer's decision on switching over to conservation practice from the existing erosive practice. The analysis has revealed the switching over decision year to be insensitive to discount rate, and little sensitive to output price, suggesting thereby that these policy variables would have little effect. The paper has suggested that favourable input-output price scenario and initial support of the state would help in incentivizing the farmers to switching over to conservative practice.
On the Categories of L-Valued and Q-Valued Deterministic Fuzzy Automata

This paper is toward the categorical study of deterministic lattice-valued ([Formula: see text]-valued) fuzzy automata and deterministic quantale-valued ([Formula: see text]-valued) fuzzy automata. The existence of initial and final objects in the subcategory of category of deterministic lattice-valued fuzzy automata is shown. We also show that there is an adjunction between the category of deterministic lattice-valued and quantale-valued fuzzy automata.
Categories of Automata and Languages Based on a Complete Residuated Lattice

We introduce and study the categorical concepts such as product, equalizer and their duals in this category. Finally, we establish a construction of a minimal fuzzy automaton for a given fuzzy language in a categorical framework. The construction of such fuzzy automaton is based on derivative of a given fuzzy language.

The sample is annealed at 500 °C in order to remove the moisture and other organic impurities. The sample is characterized by using XRD and FESEM to find out the phase and surface morphology. The observed particle size is found almost 80 nm with spherical agglomerated shape. Upconversion spectra are recorded at room temperature using 976 nm diode laser excitation sources and consequently the emission peaks in green and red region are observed. The color coordinate diagram shows the results that the present material may be applicable in different light emitting sources.

Twenty growing goat kids were randomly assigned to receive ad libitum rice straw and berseem hay (Trifolium alexandrinum L.) (40:60). Group I was fed concentrate mixture (0.1 kg/d). Group II was supplemented with UMMB (0.2kg/d). The experiment lasted for 90 days. There was significant (p<0.05) decrease in serum sodium (60.68mEq/L), increase in serum potassium (34.50 mEq/L) and increase in activity of Aspartate aminotransferase (340.42U/L) and Alanine aminotransferase (164.96 U/L) which were observed in kids of group II in comparision to the control (group I). On histopathological examination mild degenerative changes in kidney of group II with congestion in intertubular vessel, granular cytoplasm of the epithelial cells in proximal convoluted tubules (PCT) and distal convoluted tubules (DCT), necrosis and swelling of the epithelial cell...

The real domestic prices of the pearl millet, the major crop, moved in tandem with incentive component over time. But this incentive failed to provide push to the crop productivity of pearl millet during the period. The real domestic price of pearl millet declined during the period under study. The factors such as prevailing interest rate and rural road infrastructure significantly affected the total factor productivity in the crop. While easy loan facility by banks with accessibility to smallholder farmers could go a long way, access to local market could also be ensured with good connectivity of road particularly the smallholders farmers located closer to ravines.

Lecture notes in artificial intelligence, vol 2275. Springer, Berlin, pp 485-490, 2002). It is also shown that two IF-topologies (also called, intuitionistic fuzzy topologies) can be associated with the state-sets of IF-fuzzy automata whose level topologies have interesting relationships with the topologies introduced by Srivastava and Tiwari (above mentioned) for fuzzy automata. Path‐Coefficient Analysis of Leaf‐Anatomical Characters Affecting Frost Injury in Potato
Plant Breeding, 1986
Correlation and path‐coefficient analysis for leaf‐anatomical characters affecting frost injury w... more Correlation and path‐coefficient analysis for leaf‐anatomical characters affecting frost injury was carried out in twenty eight varieties and accessions belonging to several wild and cultivated tuber‐bearing species of Solanum in order to identify selection criteria in breeding for frost resistance in potato Palisade thickness and palisade proportion showed a significant negative correlation with frost injury Path‐coefficient analysis revealed that palisade thickness had the highest direct negative effect on frost injury whereas leaf thickness, not conforming to its behaviour as found in simple correlation analysis, emerged ax the next highest factor to have direct positive effect on frost injury. Direct and indirect effects of these factors on frost injury vis a vis their interdependence were found to be in support ot the ‘palisade thickness method’ for screening frost resistant genotypes in potato breeding programmes.

Overall high electrical performance is demonstrated at low voltage by using a 100 nm-thick high-j gate dielectric layer of aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) fabricated by atomic layer deposition (ALD) and modified with hydroxyl-free low-j polymers like polystyrene (PS), divinyltetramethyldisiloxane-bis(benzocyclobutene) (BCB) (Cyclotene TM , Dow Chemicals), and as well as with the widely used octadecyl-trichlorosilane (OTS). Devices with PS and BCB dielectric surfaces exhibit almost similar electrical performance with high field-effect mobilities, low subthreshold voltages, and high on/off current ratios. The higher mobility in pentacene transistors with PS can be correlated to the better structural ordering of pentacene films, as demonstrated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) images and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The devices with PS show good electrical stability under bias stress conditions (V GS = V DS = À10 V for 1 h), resulting in a negligible drop ($2%) in saturation current (I DS

The OFETs showed ambipolar behavior with average electron and hole mobility values of 1.2 and 0.01 cm 2 V À1 s À1 , respectively. Complementary-like inverters fabricated with two ambipolar OFETs showed hysteresis-free voltage transfer characteristics with negligible variations of switching threshold voltages and yielded very high DC gain values of more than 90 V/V (up to 122 V/V) at a supply voltage of 25 V.
