This study aims to know violent behavior by single parent mothers to her children, a phenomenolog... more This study aims to know violent behavior by single parent mothers to her children, a phenomenological study on mothers of single parent families in Malang City. This study applied the theory of violence factor by Mu'tadin (2002). This study used qualitative methods with phenomenological approach. The collected data were analyzed data reduction methods by Milles and Huberman (2007). Techniques of data collection used semi-structured interviews with primary and secondary subjects, and also used the non-participant observation. Validity and realibility used credibility and confirmability. The results of this research are each subjects has performed violent behavior either verbally and non-verbally to their children. Dominants factor of the emergence of violent behavior of the four subjects are frustration factor and anger factor. ABSTRAKSI Penelitian ini mengangkat tentang perilaku kekerasan oleh ibu single parents terhadap anaknya, studi fenomenologi pada keluarga ibu single parents di Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori faktor kekerasan dari Mu'tadin (2002). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis metode reduksi data. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur dengan subyek primer dan sekunder serta menggunakan obsevasi non-partisipan.
