Several contradictions in Danilevsky’s consideration of the phenomenon of influences are underlined. They were caused by an insufficiently clarified analysis of the correlation between the universal and the concrete historical, and by some monotheistic and typological aspects in the analysis of historical development. Danilevsky clearly underestimates the significance of the interaction between successive and synchronously developing cultures, which leads to a diminution of world-historical trends in the development of mankind. The article stresses a polemical character of a number of provisions of Danilevsky’s concepts. The urgent significance of the philosopher’s conclusions about the need to protect national cultural values is emphasized, which is especially important in the context of modern globalization processes. Additionally, some ke...

A historical overview of previous discoveries made by scientists in the process of studying Geomagnetism is given. The research is based on the study and analysis of R. Amundsen’s memoirs about the expedition. The authors consistently consider the stages of the expedition along the Northwest passage in 1903-1906 and its results. The significance of the geomagnetic characteristics obtained in this expedition is shown. Attention is paid to the phenomenon of magnetic poles drift, and the process of its discovery is described in detail. Amundsen’s discovery of magnetic drift gave an invaluable impetus for further Geomagnetism development, which is also briefly considered. Observations made by Roald Amundsen helped to take a new look at the existing scientific picture of the world, to challenge the traditional model of the Earth str...

According to the author of the article, the novels of Bulgakov and Dostoevsky place antiquity and the present time in a particular dialogue and conflict. It is mostly noticeable in Bulgakov's novel, where the storyline of Jesus and his meetings with Pontius Pilate creates a genuine aesthetic and philosophical tension between the symbolic ancient and medieval thought and the positivist and post-positivist thought of today. Another connection is the striking combination of the romantic idyll with oblivion as the only way to happiness in Bulgakov's novel. If we juxtapose this

(Dostoevskij.

Subsequently he worked for the journal I/Bessarione and was involved in the establishment of the Sacred Congregation for the Eastern Church, and of the Pontifical Oriental Institute. Sent to Russia to collect inspect and transcribe documents pertinent to the Society's life and work in Russia between 1772 and 1820, Gaillard observed the last revival of Russian orthodoxy before the revolution. His Ma mission en Russie explains the nature and purpose of his sojourn. However, upon his return to Rome, he became more interested in Unionism and relations between Russian Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism. Many of his small treaties were published in Opinamenta et vota quoad pontificiam in Urbe pro Ecclsiarum Orientalium dissidentium concordia institutionem (Rome, 1917). Published here are a few others from the ARSI to demonstrate the nature of the dialogue between Roman Catholicism and Orthodoxy on the eve of the First World War.
