The electrochemical performance of the prepared composite has been investigated by galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements in a three-electrode setup. The composite resulted in maximum specific capacitance of 395 F/g at 5 mV/s as measured by CV, and of 372 F/g at 60 A/g by GCD measurement in 3M KOH aqueous electrolyte. High power and energy density of 75.27 kW/kg and 25.31 WAEh/kg at 60 A/g have been respectively obtained for composite using GCD measurement. The long-term charge-discharge stability has been performed for the composite electrodes, and it is observed that 89% of capacitance is retained even after 5000 cycles. The achieved results suggest that the prepared activated carbon/multiwalled carbon nanotube composite can be a potential electrode material in high-performance supercapacitors for energy storage applications.

We utilized all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, sodium butyrate (NaBu) to examine the expression and function of Npr1 using gene-disrupted heterozygous (1-copy; +/-), wild-type (2-copy; +/+), and gene-duplicated heterozygous (3-copy; ++/+) mice. Npr1 +/mice exhibited increased renal HDAC and reduced histone acetyltransferase (HAT) activity; on the contrary Npr1 ++/+ mice showed decreased HDAC and enhanced HAT activity compared with Npr1 +/+ mice. ATRA and NaBu promoted global acetylation of histones H3-K9/14 and H4-K12, reduced methylation of H3-K9 and H3-K27, and enriched accumulation of active chromatin marks at the Npr1 promoter. A combination of ATRA-NaBu promoted recruitment of activator-complex containing Ets-1, retinoic acid receptor α , and HATs (p300 and p300/CBP associated factor) at the Npr1 promoter and significantly increased renal NPRA expression, GC activity, and cGMP levels. Untreated 1-copy mice showed significantly increased systolic blood pressure (SBP) and renal expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) compared with 2-copy and 3-copy mice. Treatment with ATRA and NaBu synergistically attenuated the expression of α-SMA and PCNA and reduced SBP in Npr1 +/mice. Our findings demonstrate that epigenetic upregulation of Npr1 gene transcription by ATRA and NaBu leads to attenuation of renal fibrotic markers and SBP in mice with reduced Npr1 gene copy number, which will have important implications in prevention and treatment of hypertension-related renal pathophysiological conditions.
Supercapacitor (SC) also called ultracapacitor is an electrochemical energy storage device applie... more Supercapacitor (SC) also called ultracapacitor is an electrochemical energy storage device applied to store electrical charges and pulse power supply. It is expected that both energy and power density could be improved by making the SC composite structure using highly conducting materials multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in activated carbon (AC). Also the performance of SC depends on some major factors of its electrode materials like high electrical conductivity, good mesoporocity, high specific surface area etc., so the structural and electrical study of MWCNTs incorporated in host activated carbon (AC) that forms nanocomposite prepared by a simple, low cost and environment friendly method has been reported. The structural properties of AC, MWCNTs and AC/MWCNTs have been examined by XRD, SEM and Raman spectroscopy. The enhancement of current in AC by adding MWCNTs has been analysed by current(I)-voltage(v) measurements. The observed results suggest that the prepared composite ...

Prolonged exposure to NO/O 2 causes synergistic lung injury and death of lung epithelial cells. To explore the mechanisms involved, oxygen-resistant HeLa-80 cells were exposed to NO ؎ O 2. Exposure to NO and O 2 induced a synergistic cytotoxicity, accompanied with apoptotic characteristics, including elevated caspase-3-like activity, Annexin V incorporation, and nuclear condensation. This apoptosis was associated with a synergistic suppression of NF-B activity. Cells lacking functional NF-B p65 subunit were more sensitive to NO/O 2 than their wild type counterparts. This injury was partially rescued by transfection with a p65 expression construct, suggesting an inverse relationship between NF-B and susceptibility to the cytotoxicity of NO/O 2. Despite the reduced NF-B activity in cells exposed to NO ؎ O 2 , IB␣ was degraded, suggesting that pathways regulating the steady-state levels of IB were not involved. However, exposure to NO/O 2 caused a marked reduction in nuclear localization and an increase in protein carbonyl formation of NF-B p65 subunit. These results suggest that NO/O 2induced apoptosis occurs by suppressing NF-B activity.

Emphasis on renewable energy demands power transmission from scattered sources. Underground power... more Emphasis on renewable energy demands power transmission from scattered sources. Underground power transmission and distribution is the key way due to right of way (ROW) and smart city initiative. This is increasing the demand of subterranean cable networks, which is leading to the proportional increase in the installation of cable joints. Cable joint installation is a highly time consuming process requiring very high level of human skill in the form of preparing cable ends by cutting, shaping and polishing them with a very low tolerance, without which the joint becomes the weakest link in the cable network. In view of this rapid growth of joint installations, there is now a two pronged requirement of lowering of installation time and lowering of human skill requirement for cable joint installation. In the present study all the major time consuming steps in the joint installation have been identified. A critical re-look of this decades old process was carried out in terms of materials properties and their influence on the steps involved in the process. Subsequently, based on experiments we propose a novel modification of the cable joint installation process which will lead to a 30% reduction in the installation time with a concomitant reduction in the human skill requirement.

The objective of the present study was to determifigne whether targeted-disruption of Npr1 gene (... more The objective of the present study was to determifigne whether targeted-disruption of Npr1 gene (encoding for guanylyl cyclase/natriuretic peptide receptor-A; GC-A/NPRA) upregulates pro(renin) receptor (P)RR expression and leads to the activation of MAPKs in Npr1 geneknockout mice. The Npr1 homozygous (Npr1 −/− ; 0-copy), heterozygous (Npr1 +/− ; 1-copy), wildtype (Npr1 +/+ ; 2-copy), and gene-duplicated (Npr1 ++/++ ; 4-copy) mice were utilized. To identify the canonical pathway of (P)RR, we administered ACE-1 inhibitor (captopril), AT1R blocker (losartan), and MAPKs inhibitors (U0126 and SB203580) to all Npr1 mice genotypes. The renal expression of (P)RR mRNA was increased by 3-fold in 0-copy mice and 2-fold in 1-copy mice compared with 2-copy mice, which was also associated with significantly increased expression of ACE-1 and AT1R mRNA levels. Similarly, the phosphorylation of MAPKs (Erk1/2 and p-p38) was enhanced by 3.5-fold and 3.2-fold, respectively, in 0-copy mice with significant increases in 1-copy mice compared with 2-copy mice. The kidney and plasma levels of proinflammatory cytokines were significantly elevated in 0-copy and 1-copy mice. Treatment with captopril and losartan did not alter the expression of (P)RR in any of the Npr1 mice genotypes. Interestingly, losartan significantly reduced the phosphorylation of Erk1/2 and p38 in Npr1 mice. The present results suggest that the ablation of Npr1 upregulates (P)RR, MAPKs (Erk1/2 and p38), and proinflammatory cytokines in 0-copy and 1-copy mice. In contrast, the duplication of Npr1 exhibits the anti-inflammatory and antihypertensive effects by reducing the activation of MAPKs and inhibiting the expression levels of RAAS components and proinflammatory cytokines.

So, this article studies the factors influencing online consumer perception and purchase orientation for digital stores operating in Vietnam through apps and websites. This study is a bi-phase study. In the first phase, constructs, such as digital store images, digital customer loyalty, satisfaction and digital socio-economic profiles of consumers, are examined. In the second part, the empirical analysis is carried by the authors. The study is done by SPSS 22, R studio, and R-cran software packages. Exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, very simple...
