Also, the labour unions have been in the vanguard in the flight for democracy. The labour movement has also played a significant role in fostering the ideology of equalitarianism. The Indian polity accords a legitimate place for trade unions. Thus, this paper an attempt is made to know the perceptions of trade union leaders and members on trade union democracy In Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant, Kalamala, Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh. To test and analyze the above, the survey was conducted, questionnaire method using interview schedule was adopted for data collection and statistical tools were used for analysis. Data is interpreted and ideas for effectiveness of trade union democracy in the RTPP are suggested the conclusion.

Objectives: The aim of the present article is to highlight how fat grafting helps to improve aesthetic and functional outcome in facial scars and contour deformities. It also highlights the factors that need to be considered while planning autologous fat grafting to get better aesthetic results. Methods: This is a prospective observational study of 60 consecutive cases with facial scars and contour deformity. The study was conducted from May 2014 to April 2019 in a tertiary care hospital. All the patients were followed up for a minimum period of 1 year from the date of surgery. Assessment of post-operative aesthetic outcome, in terms of satisfaction, was done using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), which ranges from 1 to 10 by the patient and operative surgeon. Results: The mean age was 30.8 9.8 years. Out of 60 patients, 20 pa...

Among the known alternatives, radial artery free forearm flap (RAFF) is a versatile flap that confers good results in head and neck reconstruction, but donor-site morbidity has been an issue of discontent among the plastic surgeons. This limitation needs to be studied further and addressed considering the unmatched quality of this tissue. Aims: This study aims to weigh the impact of the functional edge of this flap against the unpopular donor-site morbidity on a group of patients. Settings and Design: This is a retrospective analysis of recuperation of palatal function and patient concerns with the donor-site function and cosmesis on 7 consecutive patients with small-to-moderate palatal defects reconstructed with RAFF. Methods and Materials: Postoperative recovery of speech, palatal movement, and restoration of oromaxillary interface was assessed using objective tests, such as speech intel...

Research paper thumbnail of Aromatization of C5 -rich Light Naphtha Feedstock over Tailored Zeolite Catalysts: Comparison with Model Compounds (n-C5 - n-C7 )

(HPCL) was studied along with n-hexane (model compound for light naphtha) over non-noble metal oxide based catalyst; ZnGa/ZSM-5. Zeolite ZSM-5 was modified with zinc and gallium by co-impregnation method. High aromatic yields were obtained over modified ZSM-5 catalysts due to dissociative chemisorption of alkanes resulting in dehydrogenation/ aromatization. The effect of acid sites on aromatization was studied by varying SiO2/Al2O3 ratio (SAR) of ZSM-5 and correlated with the temperature programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD) studies. Optimized catalyst composition was further used for aromatization of n-pentane, n-heptane and light naphtha from a refinery. The Zn-Ga−H-ZSM-5 catalyst produced aromatics in high yields (64.8 % for light naphtha), especially high quantities of toluene with toluene/benzene ratio (T/B) ∼ 2. From the aromatization studies, it could be envisaged that a proper balance of acid sites with dehydrogenation function is required to achieve maximum aromatic yield. Nitrogen was found to be a better carrier gas compared to hydrogen for aromatization of light naphtha.

Pharmacognosy Journal, 2015

Chemical stress on hepatic and kidney cells can be evaluated by biochemical analysis, including serum aminotransferases, glutathione levels and extent of lipid peroxidation. Combined treatment of chemotherapy along with the natural products such as phytochemicals may be a newer approach to reduce the side effects and betterment of chemotherapy. Objective: The present study was conducted to assay kidney and liver associated parameters on animals exposed to etoposide, and the protective effect of different doses of Spondias pinnata bark extract on normal cells. In this study, total 24 male Wistar rats (either sex) aged between 60 to 90 days were considered. Each group consisted of six rats. Levels of Alanine and Aspartate aminotransferases were estimated using semi-auto analyser and GSH, GST, TAO and LPx by spectrophotometry. Results and Conclusion: Data analyzed using Graph Pad 5.0. Variation in the analyzed parameters were found between control, chemotherapy and Spondias pinnata groups. Results of the study show that significant increase in TBARS levels indicative of etoposide induced oxidative stress could be prevented by treatment with S. pinnata. GST levels also support the preventive action of S. pinnata against etoposide induced stress. However, TAO and transaminases remain unaltered in the study groups.

Acorus calamus (AC) has long been used in Indian folk medicine for various central nervous system (CNS) abnormalities. Hence the present study investigates the effect AC on learning and memory in rats. MATErIAL and METHods: Adult Wistar male rats were subjected to restrained stress for 21 days (6hr/day) and the animals were concurrently administered AC for 21 days orally. The Hebb-Williams maze and elevated plus maze served as standard behavioural models for testing memory. The rats were sacrificed on 22nd day and the brain homogenate was taken for various biochemical assessments. rEsuLTs: Sodium potassium ATPase activity and TBARS levels showed a significant decrease in the stress group compared to control. After administration of AC, the activity of Na-K-ATPase and levels of TBARS showed a tendency to revert back to normal. However there was no effect on AOPP levels, even after the treatment, which remained high. CoNCLusIoN: The present study shows the preventive action of AC rhizome powder on stress induced cognitive functions and modulatory effect on antioxidants and Na-K-ATPase activity.
