However, the creation of poorly designed SCs poses significant risks, including substantial financial losses, diminished trust in the technology, and heightened susceptibility to cyber-attacks. While several tools and DLT Protocol-specific frameworks are available to assist in the development of SCs, their limited functionality often complicates the development process. Cybersecurity Architecture expertise and oversight are essential to ensure the reliability, resilience, and scalability of contracts.
This paper covers the entire Smart Contract (SC) security for business in all stages from concept to destruction (not limited to smart contract development lifecycle). It adopts SC modelling and automated formal verification methodologies to detect security vulnerabilities and gaps and enable standardized and secure cross-platform Digital asset modelling language (DAML) SCs. The paper introduces systematic steps and techniques that, when followed, will significantly enhance the security posture of Smart Contract architecture. The oversight and governance guidance provided will assist in mitigating common vulnerabilities identified across different DLT protocols and blockchain platforms, thus setting a new standard and methodical approach towards smart contract security.
This study provides an integrated approach to cybersecurity risks in smart contracts across different phases of the business not just Software development lifecycle. By introducing a unique verification toolkits and validation frameworks it, the study presents a systematic platform and language independent method and a unique technique to mitigate cybersecurity risks for attaining overall secure posture.
