The Government has been pressing companies to improve safety of their activities in order to reduce society lost due to occupational accidents and illnesses. Occupational safety and health is crucial part of a workplace because every worker has to take care of his own safety and health. The main occupational safety and health (OSH) national policy in Malaysia is the enactment of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994. Only those companies who have excellent health and safety care are good quality and productive employees. This study investigated safety management practices in the logistics sector. Objectives: The present study is concerned with the human factors to safety in logistics industry. The authors examined the perceived safety management practices of workers in logistics sector. The purpose is to identify the perception of safety management practises of Malaysian logistics personnel. Method: Survey questionnaires were distributed to assess logistics personnel about management commitment. Quantitative method using availability sampling method was applied. The data gathered from the survey were analysed using SPSS software. The responses to the survey were rated according to the Likert scale type with "1" indicated strongly disagree and "5" indicated strongly agree. One hundred and three employees of logistics functions completed the survey. Findings: Highest mean scores found for fire apparatus, prioritization of safety and safety policy. Impact on industry: Results from this study also emphasize the importance of management commitment in enhancing workplace safety. Specifically, companies should maintain good relation between the employer and the employee to help reduce workplace injuries.

The automotive sector is one of the leading generators of industrial waste that affect the quality of the natural environment. This study aims to investigate the determinants of green innovation adoption and its effect on firm performance. Data were gathered by surveying 153 firms in the Malaysian automotive supply chain industry. Data were analyzed using the partial least squares technique. Environmental regulations, market demand, and firm internal initiatives have a positive effect on green innovation initiatives (GII), while GIIs have a positive effect on the three categories of sustainable performance (i.e., environmental, social, and economic). These results have important implications for designing strategic plans for the Malaysian automotive industry.

Hospitals must implement information systems that can quantify every aspect of disease management... more Hospitals must implement information systems that can quantify every aspect of disease management, can track and preserve patient outcomes data, can capture information across multiple business segments, and can even provide predictive modeling formulas (Grazier, 1998). The need for technology investment in hospitals is clear. Technology is the key component of efforts to meet new standards and to ensure that those standards translate into meaningful clinical, operational and financial outcomes. That is, in addition to routine information demands, administrators often require specific types of information to address specific management issues. Because the quantity and types of information needed are constantly changing, keeping up with such change is an administrative challenge. At the same time, external demands for information from governmental agencies, insurers and so on are also on the rise and are also dynamic. These shifting dynamics are rapidly changing the healthcare industry. As Austin (1992) notes, the changing nature of the healthcare industry necessitates an increasing reliance on good management information.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that may effect RFID adoption in Malaysia's healthcare industry. In addition, the moderating role of occupational level was tested. Data was collected from 223 managers as well as healthcare and supporting staffs. This data was analyzed using the partial least squares technique. The results show that perceived ease of use and usefulness, government policy, top management support, and security and privacy concerns have an effect on the intent to adopt RFID in hospitals. There is a wide gap between managers and healthcare staff in terms of the factors that influence RFID adoption. The results of this study will help decision makers as well as managers in the healthcare industry to better understand the determinants of RFID adoption. Additionally, it will assist in the process of RFID adoption, and therefore, spread the usage of RFID technology in more hospitals.

Data were gathered by means of a survey of physicians and nurses as the main group of users of telemedicine technology from hospitals that are currently using telemedicine technology. The results indicated that government policies, top management support, perception of usefulness and computer self-efficiency have a positive and significant impact on telemedicine acceptance by public hospitals in Malaysia. The results also confirmed the moderating role of health culture on the relationship between government policies as well as perceived usefulness on telemedicine acceptance by Malaysian hospitals. The results are useful for decision-makers as well as managers to recognize the potential role of telemedicine and assist in the process of implementation, adoption and utilization, and, therefore, spread the usage of telemedicine technology in more hospitals in the country.

This study adopted a quantitative research design. The questionnaire developed for this study captured the determinants and apply the supply chain agility practices. A closed-ended online survey was sent to 438 Electrical and Electronics (E&E) firms members of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) throughout Malaysia and 23.97 percent of respondents responded. The study found that the organizational linkage, sharing resources and supply chain infrastructure stand out to be the three utmost important determinants of supply chain agility practices. Organization are urged to accept the importance of supply chain agility and make changes the company strategy as well as integrated with supply chain agility in the way organizations operate. This paper addresses an important and not so well researched issue. It analyzes the interactions between the dimensions of determinants and supply chain agility practices in improving the organizational effectiveness of electrical and electronics (E&E) firms in Malaysia.

In today's complex and interdependent business environment, no company can rely on strategy developed from a single firm perspective to stay competitive. However, a supply chain has no solid structure like an individual organization. In supply chain management, strategy should focus on shared objectives and the cost-benefit trade-off in building an efficient and reliable structure incorporating vulnerability mitigation measures. The development of a supply chain risk management culture is considered essential as the influence of culture to mitigation strategy is significance. Congruence between organizational culture and strategies is believed to enhance organization performance.

While safety management system has been researched, only limited literatures have given attention to warehousing. The development of effective partnerships between customers and vendors to identify opportunities for enhancing safety management system. Employee safety behaviour in the workplace is crucial in approaching towards safety compliance and safety performance indicators. The main objective was to test the safety behaviour of the workers. Data were collected throughout the warehousing processes of a multinational electronics manufacturer in Malaysia. A questionnaire has been filled-up by the warehousing employees. This study proposes the theory of planned behaviour were to explain the linkage between customer - vendor partnership and safety behaviour. Respondents were questioned partnership with its customers to systematically improve safety behaviour. Usually most of the occupational accident or disease took place in the material handling operations and activities with cargo interface. The findings of this study show that customer-vendor partnership has a significant and positive relationship on safety behaviour. This approach to be examined for improved safety ownership and the possibility that enhancements would become an essential part of the vendor’s processes, systems, and culture. This customer-vendor partnership approach will develop safety improvements for next heights of success. SPSS was applied for processing the data. It was found that information dissemination and collaboration with the client are important. Employees should participate in the safety program as required by the clients so as to obtain the merits of high performance workforce.
