The influence of different oxidation conditions to the variation of sterolic compound of refined cacao butter (BC) was observed. BC was also treated by addition of 100 ppm (RTc), 750 ppm (RTm) a -tocopherol, 5.00 ppm Cu (II) or Fe(III). Oxidation was carried out at 45, 60

We experimentally determined the assimilation efficiency (AE) of ingested prey, the uptake-rate constant from the aqueous phase, and elimination-rate constant of mercury. By the steady state of the exposure period, the Concentration Factor (CF) of Hg was 130.66 to 150.58. The biological half-lives at slow components between small and large fishs did not change significant, and were found to be 46.8-46.5 and 72.2-75.3 days. Predictions of Bio Concentration Factor (BCF) in O. mossambicus tissues using a biokinetic model and the measured AE and efflux rates ranged from 743.31 to 4825.95.

The structure of the obtained compounds were confirmed by means of IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectral data. The results show that those condensation without addition of acetic anhydride afforded 4-[(E)-2-(4-oxo-3-phenylquinazolin-2-yl)ethenyl]benzenesulfonamide (1). The addition of of acetic anhydride accelerated the rate of the condensation reaction, but those method afforded acetylated 1. Keywords: 2-methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone, 4-formylbenzenesulfonamide, condensation, acetic anhydride.

They are clinically effective anti-inflammatory agents with less gastrointestinal and renal toxicity. However, they lack anti-thrombotic activity and hence lead to increased incidences of adverse cardiovascular trombotic events such as myocardial infarction. Therefore, there is still a need to develop better therapeutic effect and tolerability COX-2 inhibitor. The majority of COX-2 inhibitors are diaryl heterocycles. For optimum COX-2 selectivity and inhibitory potency a -SO3CH3 or a-SO2NH2 substituent at the para-position of phenyl ring was essential. A wide variety of heterocycles can serve as central ring system of the diaryl heterocycles structures. We report the screening of various 2,3-disubstituted-4(3H)-quinazolinones possessing benzenesulfonamide moiety, directly or indirectly bound to the ring system, using the Protein-Ligand ANT System (PLANTS) docking software against the COX-2 enzyme. Various molecular structures of ligands were docked and scored to identify structurally similar ligands to SC-558 (reference ligand) in binding interaction to COX-2 binding site. The results show that 2,3-disubstituted-4(3H)-quinazolinones possess pbenzenesulfonamide moiety at C-2, and phenyl moiety at N-3 binds directly or indirectly to the ring system with high binding affinity. The docked ligand has orientations similar to that observed with SC-558 satisfying Lipinski's rule of five.

The quantity of certain aldehydes formed during the oxidation of cocoa butter was examined by gas chromatography. The oxidation stability of butter was evaluated over a 12-week period. The influence of the presence of an antioxidant rr-tocopherol or a prooxidant, iron and copper on the formation of aldehydes was studied. The effects of the antioxidant have shown that the stabilisation of refined cocoa butter varies with the concentration of the antioxidant used. The presence of a prooxidant has accelerated the oxidation of refined cocoa butter. Iron and copper have shown a similar effect on the formation of aldehydes from refined cocoa butter. 0 1997 Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology. Published by

moiety have been synthesized and their COX-2 inhibitory activity evaluated. The stuctures

The COX-2 inhibition screening assay revealed that 4-[(E)-2-{3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4-oxo-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2-yl}ethenyl]benzene-1-sulfonamide had a maximum COX-2 inhibition (47.1%), at a concentration of 20 μM.
