Due to their unique architecture these have improved physical and chemical properties. Due to their terminal groups these show high solubility, miscibility and reactivity. Dendrimers have well defined size, shape, molecular weight and monodispersity. These properties make the dendrimers a suitable carrier in drug delivery application. Dendrimers are unimolecular miceller in nature and due to this enhances the solubility of poorly soluble drugs. Their compatibility with DNA, heparin and polyanions make them more versatile. Dendrimers, also referred as modern day polymers, they offer much more good properties than the conventional polymers. Due to their multivalent and mono disperse character dendrimers have stimulated wide interest in the field of chemistry biology, drug delivery, gene therapy and chemotherapy. Amisulpride is an atypical antipsychotic drug, effective for positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia with unique receptor pharmacology. As could be predicted from the pharmacologic profile of a pure D2/D3 receptor blocker. Nanoemulsion formulation containing Amisulpride was developed by ultra sonication method. Formulations were prepared using oil (oleic acid and IPM), two surfactants ( Labrasol, and Tween 20 “Smix”) and co-surfactant (PEG 400). Optimized formulation, containing 10% oil, 2:1 as Smix, co-surfactant ratio 1 and 2 as ratio of Labrasol and Tween-20 in Smix was prepared. Amisulpride is practically insoluble in water and suffers from irregular and low bioavailability (48%). The current study is aimed at developing and optimizing a Nanoemulsion formulation of amisulpride in order to improve oral absorption of amisulpride throug...

This study presents a novel colon specific drug delivery system containing prednisolone. Colon targeting is naturally of value for the topical treatment of diseases of colon such as chron’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colorectal cancer, and amebiasis. It is also valuable for the oral delivery of drugs unstable or susceptible to enzymatic degradation in upper G.I.T. tract. The advantages of targeting drug to specifically to the diseased colon are reduced incidence of systemic side-effects, lower dose of drug, supply of the drug to the biophase only when it is required and maintenance of the drug in its intact form as close as possible to the target site. That’s why improved drug delivery system is required for drugs currently in use to treat localised disease of the colon. It has been concluded that obtained microsponges work as a best dosa...

Niosomes (vesicles prepared from nonionic surfactants in aqueous media) are gaining interest as an alternative vesicular delivery system as they offer advantages such as biocompatibility, chemical stability, low cost, high purity, and versatility. However, the physical stability of niosomes, like other vesicular systems, is limited by vesicle fusion, aggregation, and leakage. Proniosomes (dehydrated powder or gel formulations that spontaneously form niosomes on hydration with aqueous media) can overcome these physical stability problems and are more convenient for sterilization, storage, transport, distribution, and dosing. Proniosomes have mostly been explored for their potential to enhance transdermal and oral absorption. In this study we assess, for the first time, the potential for hydrated proniosomes to sustain systemic ex...
