The program also aims to promote training in the social aspects of health among senior personnel responsible for service delivery and program planning in governmental and nongovernmental agencies. The program seeks to establish a network for collaboration between researchers from different disciplines, policy designers, and representatives of the nongovernmental sector. Priority is to be given to research on social inequality in reproduction, especially gender inequality and unequal access to services. Research will focus on the least favored groups, including the rural and indigenous and poor urban sectors. The perspective of family analysis and the focus on life trajectories will permit greater understanding of social construction and the intergenerational transfer of sexual and reproductive patterns. Exchanges with national and foreign specialists will help reinforce the institutional capacity of the Colegio de Mexico to train high level human resources. Publication of a bulletin, development of forums and seminars, and consolidation of a national network of specialists will promote interdisciplinary, intersectorial, and interinstitutional exchanges.

However, the involvement of men in the sexuality and reproduction is achieving a growing interest for researchers. Actually, the men intervene in many fields related to abortion both from the public and private sphere. In this article we first document some of the academic research about abortion from a masculine view. Secondly, we present the results of several researches about the men’s responses to this topic.

The menstruation and menarche play an important role in this process and their meanings have important implications in the perceptions that women have about their bodies as well as the reproduction and sexuality. This article aims to present the findings of a qualitative research carry on in two regions of the state of Morelos, Mexico. The results suggest that menstruation and menarche social regulations are a central part of the embodied experience of women's lives and they also are key elements in the learning trajectories about being a woman in societies of highly conditioned by gender inequalities.

It describes the main transformations in the agrarian sector in Latin America in the past 100 years with emphasis on the transformation from a non-capitalist economy with a relative lack of labour force into one in which capitalist relations prevail and give way to processes that generate a surplus labour force. It points out the role played by population growth in this transformation and particularly the effects of the decline in mortality. The authors contend that "in spatial and temporal situations demographic changes and conditions can impose new arrangements in practices and strategies with a view to ensuring the economic and social reproduction of agrarian production units and of families. The most relevant...conclusion is the need to undertake specific studies in different agrarian contexts to allow a deeper analysis of relations between transformations in agrarian structure and demographic dynamics."

LERNER Susana, QUESNEL André and SAMUEL Olivia: Women integration in biomedical institution through the constitution of parity. A case study in a rural mexican area. In Mexico, in spite of the important extension of maternaI and infant health institution in rural areas, many women do not have access to antenatal care in the health system during their pregnancies. Through the identification of the kind of antenatal care (doctors and / or traditional midwives) and the measure of its intensity, the paper shows that the health system integration is questioned at each pregnancy and but especially at the first. The results of a demographic survey done in three rural villages in Morelos state (Mexico) show that when the biomedical follow-up occurs at the first pregnancy, it is rarely questioned for the next ones. In the others cases, the delivery circumstances become critical to confirm the health system integration. This statement questions the issue of prevention of pregnancy and mainly this of an absence of a preventive culture for men and women.
