Different characters of left handers display inclination to high intelligence which is also supposed to have association with handedness. This study was conducted to find out the correlation between handedness and intelligence among left and right handers in school population. Materials and methods: A sample of 210 student volunteers were selected from various schools. Edinburgh Handedness Inventory was used as a tool for the assessment of handedness and Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices was opted to assess the level of intelligence. Results: In the present study, it was concluded that the left-handers are more intelligent than the right handers which was calculated on the basis of raw scores and time of completion in the test for intelligence Conclusion: The cerebral asymmetry of a ...

To evaluate the anti oxidant level ascorbic acid, α-tocopherol, glutathione, caroteniods, and polyphenol. And oxidative enzymes such as superoxide dismutase(SOD),and catalase(CAT). By Thiocyanate method. Oxidative stress is a major problem for all the biological system including humans. Oxidation is essential to many living organisms for the production of energy to fuel biological processes, excessive production of oxygen derived free radicals is involved in the onset of many pathological conditions such as cirrhosis, metastasis, rheumatoid arthritis, Inflammatory diseases and degenerative diseases of multiple visceras incuuding brain and nerve cells. When degeneration process occurs due to senility, detoriation of normal functions by any diseases the natural antioxidant property in the reduces. To prevent that oxidative cell damage antioxidant food products are essential. Mushrooms have more anti oxidant property.

Left handedness has existed in a small subset of the human population, approximately 8%, since the origin of man. The prevalence of left handedness is usually reported to be consistent among human populations. Sinistrality is more common in males than in females. Hand clasping , arm folding and foot overlapping are bilateral limb postures which are subject to lateral preferences. Arm folding refers to the preferential tendency for individuals to fold one forearm over the other, whereas hand clasping refers to the preferential tendency for individuals to clasp the hands together and foot overlapping refers to the preferential tendency for individuals to fold one leg over the other. Applying chi-square test we analyzed the relationship between handedness the marker of laterality with hand clasping, arm folding and foot overlapping in left and right handers.

Also we have footedness in the motor domain. This study investigated the percentage distribution and their significance for handedness and footedness in both sexes of adolescent age group in both left and right handers based on laterality preference inventory. Handedness got a significant result whereas footedness score has no significance based on the laterality preference inventory.

The clinically significant features of the posterior surface of the sacrum are the triangular or inverted 'U' shape sacral hiatus and the sacral cornua. The knowledge of Anatomical variations of Sacral hiatus is significant while administration of Caudal Epidural Anaesthesia and it may help to improve its success rate. Aim: The purpose of this study is to recognize anatomical variations and additional landmarks of sacral hiatus in cases where the sacral cornua could not be identified and to assess proportions that may magnify the location of the apex of the sacral hiatus and thus to find a practical solution for Caudal epidural block (CEB). Materials and methods: The present study was conducted on unknown sixty one complete and undamaged adult, dry sacral bones. The material was of undetermined age and gender. Anatomical measurements was carried out on these bones using a vernier calliper to the accurate of 0.1mm. Results: Variations in the shapes and their percentages of Sacral hiatus were observed namely Elongated, Inverted U, Irregular, Inverted V, Dumbbell and Bifid along with their distances and Angles of use in detecting the Apex were measured. The location of Apex of Sacral hiatus was found at varying levels from upper end of S2 to lower part of S5 vertebrae. Also we measured the angles between the margins of the triangle formed by the two superolateral sacral crests and the sacral hiatus. Our measurements reveal this to be an equilateral triangle. Conclusion: This knowledge of variations in Human sacral hiatus provides a safe caudal epidural block before surgery and complications can be avoided. We believe that the equilateral character of the sacral triangle formed connecting the two posterior superior iliac spines and the apex of the sacral hiatus will be practical advantage to the clinician in ascertaining the location of the sacral hiatus during CEB.

Handedness is one of the most obvious functional asymmetries. Approximately 90% of all subjects are right handed ,the remaining 10% of the population are left handed. Lefthandedness results from perinatal left hemisphere neurological damage, due to an oxygen deficiency induced by birth stress. Studies do show that there is a predictable relationship between laterality and sleep disturbance. There are several developmental factors implied in handedness in humans. There have been studies using one or some measures but using a wide range of the measures is rare in research literature. Against this backdrop this study examines the association between handedness and various socio-demographical factors.

Humans show a strong and population-level bias toward using one hand rather than the other for manual activities, which is unusual among mammals. As handedness is biologically and genetically linked, so it has various effects on one's behaviour and abilities. Since intelligence has an impact on human behaviour, intelligence is considered an important aspect. Language is a system by communication. The meaning of anything is created by using symbols and our intelligence can be communicated to others by reading, speaking and writing. Researchers argue that right handers are more intelligent than the left handers and this is the reason behind changing the handedness of the children. This present study aims at finding the authencity of this opinion. Aim: We assessed the cerebral dominance and association between handedness and intelligence among school students. Method: Lateral preference inventory for handedness and Raven's Standard Progressive Matrix Test for intelligence. Statistical method used: IBM statistics-20. The P-Values less than or equal to 0.05 (<0.05) were considered as statistically significant. Result: Statistical significance results were observed between left and right handers in terms of gender, age and educational standards. Conclusion: Left handed students were more intelligent than right handed students. Furthermore if more accessories are specially designed for left handers, they can achieve much more better.
