Therefore, digital literacy skills and system quality were used as predictors to predict LMS use among postgraduate students in universities in Ibadan, Nigeria. A survey design of the correlational type was adopted. At the same time, the population of the study comprised all the 4,750 postgraduate students of two universities in Ibadan, Nigeria, and 328 postgraduate students were drawn using a multi-stage sampling technique. The instrument adopted for data collection was a questionnaire which had three sections. The questionnaire return rate was 316 copies, representing a 96.3% retrieval rate. Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and multiple regression analysis were conducted to test the null hypotheses at a 0.05 significance level. A significant relationship between digital literacy skills and the use of learning management (r =.319; p < 0.05) was found, while a signific...

Alumni from all Nigerian library schools constituted the target population. The study gathered data through a semi-structured questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to several platforms, including WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook. A total of 150 filled questionnaires were received from participants in Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The findings show that participants were fully aware of the emergence of the 4IR. They indicated the impact of the 4IR era on the future job market as driverless cars, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), robot technology, metaverse, blockchain and soft skills. It is evident from the findings that these technologies have changed the landscape of all ...

Findings Sci-Hub has been a valuable resource for accessing full-text documents. Sci-Hub is potentially problematic from a legal standpoint but has provided a “blessing in disguise” to library users who lack access to academic resources. Sci-Hub has gained significant popularity among scholars and researchers; it has democratized access to academic research. The ability to access scholarly publications for free has provided an important avenue for research and has allowed for greater efficiency and effectiveness in research projects. The legality of the service, concerns about the quality and accountability of the available materials, and the unclear long-term sustainability of the service are some of the challenges associated with using Sci-Hub in libraries. Originality/value This paper highlights how the...

It is on that note that this study has examined artificial intelligence (AI) humanoid robots for public libraries reference services. This study aims to discuss AI and draw the link between it and robotic technology. Design/methodology/approach This study adopted conceptual analysis and review of literature on AI humanoid robots for public libraries reference services. Findings This study focused not only on humanoid robots but also discovered that there are other types of robots relevant to libraries including chatbot, telepresence and shelve-reading robots as well as general robots such as aerospace robots, drones and army robots, commercial entertainment robots, industrial robots and medical-surgical robots. A descriptive survey design was adopted. Three hundred and seventy-two (372) undergraduate students randomly selected from twelve universities constituted the sample for the study. Four research questions were developed and answered and data was collected through a self-designed questionnaire. The findings demonstrate that the majority of the respondents are aware of copyright infringement and have strong perception that copyright infringement is a form of intellectual dishonesty. In addition, the results indicate that downloading content from the internet without permission from the owner is the major way through which undergraduates mostly infringed on the copyright. The findings also show that high cost of textbook is a contributing factor that leads students to infringe on copyright law, followed by scarcity of materials, fear of scoring poor marks, lack of awa...

The study used a total sample of 150 part 3 and 4 students in the department of mathematics and mathematics education students in the university of Ibadan and university of Lagos, Nigeria. The 35 items academic procrastination scale developed and validated by Tuckman (1991) was used for the collection of data, in conjunction with the subjects GPA scores till date in mathematics. Findings indicates that: a significant correlation was found in the academic procrastination and academic achievement of the subjects in mathematics, significant difference also exists in the levels of procrastination and mathematics achievement of the subjects, with low procrastinators performing better than the moderate and the high procrastinators. Results further reveals the subjects procrastinate the same way irrespective of their gender. Implications of procrastination on academic achievement of students at all levels generally and some effective ways of remediation of procrastination were suggested.

A survey design was employed, using a questionnaire as an instrument for data collection from 919 postgraduate students selected from twelve universities in Southwest Nigeria. The findings revealed that scholarly publication means the procedure of generating, producing, and judging scholarly content, distributing and circulating it to the scholarly community and conserving it for future use, and writing and publishing novel academic ideas in scholarly communication outlets. A (23.7%) of research students had published academic papers and the majority of those research students had 0-2 years' experience. Knowledge of data analysis, literature search and review, development of relevant research questions, methodology, access to relevant materials, e-mail, phone, identification of relevant keywords, and ICT skills are considered necessary for scholarly publishing. Postgraduate students are aware of predatory journals and publishers. Challenges to scholarly publishing experience are inadequate mentorship and support, skills, knowledge; lack of funds, and limited access to available materials including journal articles, databases, and others. Also, universities in Nigeria should consider funding scholarly publications for any postgraduate students that put in the effort to get published; and mentorship, support, and collaboration with supervisors should be more emphasized.

Methods: A survey was adopted and a questionnaire was distributed to 555 banks' employees across 11 banks head office in Lagos, Nigeria. Data collected were analysed using frequencies and percentages, Pearson multiple correlations, and multiple linear regression. Results: The result shows that the intranet is used for knowledge creation, storage, retrieval, distribution, and application in Nigerian banks. Furthermore, system quality was found to be the best predictor of the four KM processes followed by task technology fit, while service quality was not. Conclusion: The study concluded that system quality is the most important intranet feature in predicting intranet utilisation for all the KM processes followed by perceived task technology fit, while service quality was found not to be a good predictor. Contribution: This study is unique and one of the pioneer studies in Nigeria that focused on using intranet to manage knowledge in the Nigerian banking sector. The study identified intranet characteristics that are best predictors of KM processes.
