The course outcome is assessed and evaluated at the end of each course because of which most of the time the concerned faculty falters to take corrective action on time. This paper presents a simplified but robust approach for the measurement of the course attainment as an assessment tool. It can be used while delivering the course and can be easily calculated. This will allow the faculty members to quickly tweak (if required) the teaching and learning methodology meeting the required course outcome. In the absence of the method as discussed in the paper, the process of measurement of course attainment is seen more as a post processing method, as it is calculated at the end of the completion of the course. The input required to indicate the course attainments are: Target value, University norms for the allocation of grades, list and number of assessment tools and count of students. It provides the gross...

The study was based on extensive and intensive fields surveys made during different months of rainy season [2009][2010][2011]. During the course of field study the authors have selected 6 important paddy growing blocks in district Rajouri and divided them into two sites (S1 upland site containing the blocks Kalakote, Manjakote and Sunderbani in which irrigation facility is lacking and S2 lowland site containing blocks Nowshera, Rajouri and Budhal which is facilitated with irrigation). Frequent field trips were made twice a month in each site for collection of weeds. During this period the authors have reported a total of 65 weed species belonging to 23 angiospermic and 1 pteridophytic families from both the sites. Out of 23 angiospermic families the predominance was shown by monocot families Cyperaceae and Poaceae having 15 and 12 weed species, respectively. The pteridophytic family Marsilea...

Applying this technique, two exact interior solutions of Einstein-Maxwell equations are given. They can be joined continuously to the 1Reissner-Nordstr~m exterior and hence represent charged fluid spheres of fmite radius. In the absence of charge, one of these solutions reduces to Acller's solution and the othew reduces to the Vaidya-Tikekar solution. The physica] features of one of these solutions are also discussed.

The Z-dependence index ‘n’ and yield constant are determined in the photon energy region 5-30 keV. The Z-dependence index ‘n’ values obtained from experimental bremsstrahlung photon distributions shows better agreement with the index ‘n’ values obtained from the modified Elwert factor (relativistic) Bethe-Heitler theory, which includes the polarization bremsstrahlung into ordinary bremsstrahlung. It was observed, that a yield constant shows exponential decaying dependence on photon energy. Further, it has been found that the Z-dependence index ‘n’ values are not constant and decreases with increasing photon energy. The higher ‘n’ values than unity clearly indicates the inadequacy of theoretical models to represent the dependence of spectral shape of total bremsstrahlung on atomi...

Type-2 diabetes mellitus has mainly peripheral insulin resistance as a cause with or without insulin secretary defects. In particular, type-2 diabetes mellitus has been shown to be associated with abnormalities in the metabolism of Zinc, Chromium, Magnesium and Manganese. The serum levels of Zinc and Magnesium are usually low in diabetic patients. The study finding may exhibit the extent of deficiencies of these two trace elements in relation to duration of the disease. It may be utilized to optimize the control of type-2 diabetes mellitus by supplementation of zinc and magnesium. By doing so the metabolic complications of diabetes mellitus can be delayed.

It is often fatal, and its occurrence is largely independent of classic metabolic treatment modalities. Liver transplantation (LT) is a treatment option for severe PA as the liver plays a vital role in metabolism of the precursors that accumulate in patients with PA. LT in PA is now considered to be a long-lasting and valid treatment to prevent cardiac disease. The subject of this report had severe cardiomyopathy that largely disappeared prior to undergoing a LT. Three years following the transplant, there was recurrence of cardiomyopathy following a surgery that was complicated with a postoperative aspiration pneumonia. On his last hospital admission, he was presented with pulmonary edema and heart failure. He continued with episodes of intractable hypotension, despite maximum inotropic and diuretic support. He died following redirection of care. We conclude that lethal cardiomyopathy may develop several years after successful LT in patients with PA.

The earlier measurements of bremsstrahlung [1,2] were made with the ionization chamber, proportional counters and G.M. Counters. Later, various researchers [3,4] have used the NaI (Tl) detectors having high efficiency and more effective to make the measurements of bremsstrahlung at high energies, particularly above photon energy of 30 keV. Numbers of measurements [5-7] were also reported below 30 keV by using Si(Li) detector. In the present measurement, the complete response of the detector taken into account, while measuring the bremsstrahlung spectra. The present measurements were taken to obtain the total bremsstrahlung (BS) spectral photon distribution, produced by the continuous β-particles of 45 Ca in thick metallic targets of Al, Cu, Sn and Pb, in the photon energy regions of 5-30 keV. So, in view of the range of photon

Coding plays a major role is 3D mobile generation. The image processing methods have been exploited through the years to improve the quality of digital images. In the image processing system De-noising based coding is used extensively. As we know that, in low bit rate applications, the blocking artifacts problem arises, which severely reduce the visual quality of the image. Reducing blocking artifacts is essential to render the compressed visual data acceptable to the viewer. So, to detect and reduce noise from the image is a major task. So removing the noise from original signal is still a challenging problem for researchers. There have been several published algorithms and each approach has its assumptions, advantages, and limitations. For real-time applications like television, photo-phone, etc. it is essential to reduce the noise power as much as possible...

The total bremsstrahlung spectra in the thick targets of lead acetate trihydrate (Pb(CH 3 COO) 2 ... more The total bremsstrahlung spectra in the thick targets of lead acetate trihydrate (Pb(CH 3 COO) 2 Á3H 2 O), lead nitrate Pb(NO 3) 2 and lead chloride (PbCl 2) produced by 90 Sr beta particles have been investigated in the photon energy region of 10-100 keV. The experimental bremsstrahlung spectra have been compared with the theoretical models Elwert corrected (non relativistic) Bethe Heitler theory, modified Elwert factor (relativistic) Bethe Heitler theory for ordinary bremsstrahlung and modified Elwert factor (relativistic) Bethe Heitler theory which includes polarization bremsstrahlung in the stripped atom approximation. The experimental results show better agreement with theoretical model that includes polarization bremsstrahlung in stripped approximation in the photon energy region below 30 keV. However, at higher photon energy region 30-100 keV, the theoretical model which describes ordinary bremsstrahlung is more accurate to describe the experimental bremsstrahlung spectra. The experimental results show positive deviations from the entire theoretical models at higher energy end of the spectrum. The results indicate that polarization bremsstrahlung plays important role in the formation of total bremsstrahlung spectra in lead compounds produced by continuous beta particles at low photon energy region of 10-30 keV.

Following plane wave analysis, we arrive at the optimum parameters of the OPO, with the intracavity idler absorber, to achieve high conversion efficiency for the signal. For a given pump intensity, we have analyzed the effect of position and number of absorbers required for optimum performance of the device. The model is also extended to the case in which the signal is absorbed, yielding higher conversion efficiency for the idler (in mid-IR region). The magnitude of absorption and the effect of intercrystal phase shift on the conversion efficiency are also discussed. We also present an analytical solution for twin-crystal SR-OPO with an absorber in between, taking into account the variation of signal amplitude inside t...
