The main activity in these areas is essentially agriculture, whose products need to be preserved after harvest. Sun drying, often used by populations, does not allow the consumption or the sale of often degraded products and therefore generates large losses. The bush refrigerator, called “the pot-in-pot,” composed of two jars nested, one inside the other separated by a material medium and a lid, is one of the conservation solutions for these products from agriculture and especially for the diffcult lean season. The present study focused on optimizing the performance of the so-called pot-in-pot refrigerator. Experimental investigations on its performance factors were performed. The shape and closure of the jars and also the material separating the two jars have been shown to be particularly important in the heat dissipation capacity in these systems. In addition, our bush refrigerator has been shown to be economically ten times less expensive to operate than an 85W electric refrigerator over the same period of operation.

The strong urbanization in the cities of developing countries leads to a gradual rapprochement of dwellings and companies of airport zones. A fact that is real in Mali, where Bamako airport area has become an inhabited urban zone for some years by a part of the population. Given the importance of Bamako's airport traffic (West African crossroads), the proximity of the dwelling houses must receive the authorities and scientist's attention on the occupants' safety and quality life. The noise levels generated all around the airport zone throughout landings and takeoffs by different aircraft types require an assessment of the acoustic noise level, the level of noise exposure and the building acoustic performance near the airport for users comfort and quality of life. In this article, we give in one hand the general notions on the inhabitants discomfort indicators, the building acoustics and, on the other hand, non-quality identification, and the discomfort factors whose resolution contributes to improving the building acoustic and environmental performance. These assessment studies are based on acoustic measurements and in-situ surveys from construction actors and users. Data from these surveys are processed with an evaluation methodology developed to improve knowledge and strategies aimed at preventing or minimizing the acoustic risks near airports. The capitalization of knowledge resulting from this study can serve as experience feedback through good practices advocacy and corrective and preventive solutions for building construction and renovation projects.

This requirement imposes the implementation of effective strategies for evaluating energetic performances. However, most of the literature works focused on the use of analytical approaches which sometimes proves insufficient, in the absence of taking into account the practical realities. This paper presents a methodology of risk analysis and assessment for efficient performance of buildings using the knowledge capitalization and exploitation from experience feedback processes. The target buildings (residential, tertiary and commercial) are chosen in the airport area of aeronautic context in which the lessons learnt are generated from the environmental assessment with the assistance of the main domain actors (experts, technicians and users). The effort is focused on identification of non-qualities and discomforts whose resolution could contribute to improving the energy and environmental performance of buildings. This approach integrates the collection of experienced knowledge from passive design strategies of sustainable buildings with innovative practices. Capitalization of knowledge from experience feedback processes will foster the development of proposais for preventive and corrective solutions and dissemination of good practices for solving problems regarding pathologies, damage, and other dysfunctions observed in the building field.
