Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a polygenic, endocrine disorder causing ovarian dysfunction. ... more Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a polygenic, endocrine disorder causing ovarian dysfunction. This syndrome encompasses a broad spectrum of phenotypic expression due to heterogeneity. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and phenotypic factors contributing to the onset of PCOS in Pakistani women. Participating females (n=130) were recruited from different regions of Pakistan explicitly those who were trying to conceive for years. We designed a questionnaire having different subsections comprising questions related to psychological and environmental aspects linked with PCOS. We also analyzed the proportion of women having prior awareness about the genetic basis of the disease. The retrieved data was analyzed through SPSS V.21 by employing descriptive statistics. A Chi-square test was used to establish a correlation between PCOS and associated symptoms. Among various oral diseases, periodontitis affects a large number of populations around the developed and underdeveloped countries of the world. The first step to manage this disease at the community level is to know its prevalence and trend. Therefore, this systematic review was planned to document the prevalence of periodontitis at the national and regional level. Methods Literature was searched using various databases, such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Pak Medi net and Eric. Keywords used were “Prevalence”, “Periodontitis”, “Pakistan” “Prevalence of periodontitis in Pakistan”, “prevalence and/or periodontitis and/or Pakistan”. The research methodology was based on the PRISMA guidelines (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) to extract and later analyze relevant studies. Objective: This study aimed to report the incidence of dental caries among deaf students of prima... more Objective: This study aimed to report the incidence of dental caries among deaf students of primary school in Lahore Method: This descriptive crossectional study was conducted at 2 private primary schools for deaf students in Lahore. Sample of the study was 150 students who were completely deaf. Data was collected by screening of oral health maintenance of students by two dentists. Chi Square test was used to explore the age wise difference in occurrence of dental caries among deaf students of primary school in Lahore Results: Overall incidence of dental caries is quite high among deaf students of primary school in Lahore (112(74.67%). Results of chi square test revealed no significant difference of incidence of dental caries in terms of age (X 2 =4.597, P=.204). Conclusion: In Lahore, incidence of dental caries among primary school deaf students is quite high which need to be address. Moreover, age has no significant effect on the incidence of dental caries among primary school deaf students.

Objective: With recent advancement in technology, generation Z has become addicted to gadgets, pa... more Objective: With recent advancement in technology, generation Z has become addicted to gadgets, particularly smartphones. The fear of being separated from mobile phones, is known as Nomophobia. The aim of our study was to ascertain whether nomophobia and/or problematic mobile phone use has any influence on decision-making of undergraduate dental students. Methodology: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted on dental students of Pakistan. The level of nomophobia was determined using the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q), Mobile Phone Problematic Use Scale (MP-PU), and the decision-making skills of dental students was determined using the Melbourne Decision Making Questionnaire (MDM-Q). Results: The mean score of the NMP-Q was 102.49 ± 11.07, and the mean score of MP-PU Scale was 83.45 ± 17.82.
