The article states the problem of high rates of overweightand obesity, Type 2 diabetes that create serious public health concerns for the Navajo Nation. It has more than 300,000 enrolledmembers in 110 chapters spread across 27,000 square miles in northeastern Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. The Indian HealthService estimates that 25,000 members of the Navajo have Type 2 diabetes and 75,000 are pre-diabetic.Keywords: Diabetes, Navajo Nation, obesity, historical trauma, health

The article provides a comparative analysis on how Georgian and Native American nations had to struggle to protect their environment. In 2004, an important archaeological discovery was made by the German and Georgian scientists on the Sakdrisi-Kachaghiani hill, located at the territory of the Bolnisi Municipality, Georgia. Later, the Georgian and foreign media outlets started discussing the world-wide scale and uniqueness of the pre-historic mine. In 2013, the status of the Sakdrisi-Kachaghiani, as a cultural monument was deprived and the mining company "RMG Gold" got a permission to extract gold in the wider area where Sakdrisi was located, which caused protests from academics and preservationists.

Since the Proclamation of Emancipation in 1863 through the race riots and peaceful marches of the 1960’s, this problem continues to plague America in the twenty-first century. The 1964 Civil Rights Act represents a clear turning point in history - a point at which America made a genuine attempt to resolve its contradictions and its constrictions. However, while the nation echoes, “All men are created equal,” in every corner of the United States there are still small pockets of racism and hate and within these pockets they believe that the “other” race is inferior to them.

The traditional notion of winning a war is clear, defeating an enemy on the battlefield and forcing it to accept political terms. However, it is important to determine what does victory or defeat mean in a war on terror? Will this kind of war ever end? How long will it take? Former U.S. President George Bush's approach to the war on terror implicated the use of offensive measures against terrorist organizations. This approach was criticized by leading Democrats who argued that it was important to conduct more and smarter diplomacy, and intensify cooperation with key allies. Bush's critics considered that his approach to the war on terror created more terrorists than it eliminated and that it will continue to do so unless the United States, under the presidency of Barack Obama, radically changes course.

The accuracy and reproducibility of the estimates have been documented in 3H-thymidine (3HTdR)-labeled rat kidney cell cultures. The Quantimet and visual grain count estimates showed excellent correlation over a wide range of counts and was independent of grain density and clustering pattern. One advantage of this approach is that the grain counts can be related to specific cellular structures. The simultaneous measurement of the mean optical density of the grain-free nucleus provides a way of evaluating 3HTdR-absorption effects for valid grain count comparisons. Using a light pen, about 800 cells are measured per hour. The grain count estimates may be made simultaneously with estimates of Feulgen-stained DNA content in the labeled nuclei. This automated technology opens new avenues for critical applications to cell cycle analysi...

The research aims to investigate the impact of educational policy of the U.S. government on the Native American population and culture with a particular focus on the Cherokee people.

Due to this impact and modern ways of living, the Cherokees had been in a constant state of change. The main purpose of this article is to elaborate and understand the impact of Christian missionaries on the Cherokees lifestyle, distribution of power between the Cherokee man and woman, and the transformation from a traditional style of Cherokee marriage to more Westernized methods. This change implies every aspect of marriage in the Cherokee community, from the use of dances, feasts, and festivals as a means of courtship to the marriage ceremony itself and interracial marriage and impact of Christianity following the massive movement of white settlers into the Cherokee territory.

During the upheaval of the Civil War (1861-1865), many American Indians expressed their commitment to the Union or Confederacy. They assembled armies and participated in battles. Their alliance was important for both sides of the war (the Union and the Confederacy) as they recognized that American Indians’ involvement in this conflict could influence the outcome of the bloody conflict. At the same time, Native Americans were affected by the Civil War, because during this period they faced division among their tribes, and after the war they struggled to exist without slavery and to cope with broken treaties and territorial growth despite promises by the United States government. This article examines the role of American Indians during the Civil War and their condition after the war. Differences in how regions are affected by varying degrees of warming, precipitation and changes in animal and plant species are likely to get even more extreme as climate change continues. Nowadays, Native Americans are experiencing the effects of dislocation and food shortages, which they attribute to the Climate Change. The article aims to elaborate the impact of the Climate Change on Native American communities, particularly, the research examines the basis for Native Nations to consider how they may be affected by changes in climate and extreme measures they can take in order to proactively address those impacts.
