One hundred and fifteen Coleoptera species were identified. The families and numbers of these species found were as followed; Lymexylidae (1), Anobidae (1), Elateridae (2), Lucanidae (3), Scarabaeidae (8), Cerambycidae (41), Chrysomelidae (7), Curculionidae (21), Scolytidae (17), Bostrychidae (1), Buprestidae (13), Oedemeridae (1), Serropalpidae (1). In addition, 28 predators and 6 parazitoids of Coleoptera species were identified.

One research area within the pure spruce forests of Ardanuc-Karanlikmese in Artvin Province of Turkey was selected for this study. A total of 30 pheromone traps (with ten of each type of pheromone lures) were placed in the area. The traps hunging in the third week of May in 2003 stayed for 45 days. All of them were checked four times in 45 days to count trapped insects. As a result, in the early weeks of the placement, there were more insects collected, followed by a gradual decrease in trapped insect number in the later weeks. Furthermore, there was no significant difference between Ipstyp® and Typosan® in number of trapped insects. Both pheromone lures were, however, much more effective than Ipsowit®That is why, instead of Ipsowit®, using Ipstyp® and/or Typosan® lures against the pest would be more economic and more effective.

This insect poses a danger by feeding on the juices of hundreds of plants in the region. This study was designed to create a fight strategy against M.pruinosa, which has posed an intense danger in Artvin-Kemalpaşa in recent years, and the effect of Spruzit Neu and Dipel biopesticides on the nymphs and adults of the insect was investigated, and the applicability of these biopesticides was revealed. The study was conducted in the summer season of 2016 when the nymphs and adults of the insect are abundant in the region. In in vitro conditions, the Spruzit Neu (Pyrethrum) and Dipel DF (Bacillu thuringiensis) biopesticides were sprayed at different doses (DiPel ® DF BT 100gr / 100lt, Dipel ® DF BT 300gr / 100lt, Dipel ® DF BT 500gr / 100lt ve Spruzit ® Neu) on the nymphs and adults of the insect. The adults and nymphs were checked with 2-day intervals, and the results were assessed according to the One-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA) and the Duncan Test. It was determined that the most effective applications for the nymphs were Dipel DF 300gr/100lt and 500gr/100lt. It was also determined that the most effective applications for the adult individuals were Spruzit Neu 600ml/100lt and Dipel DF 500gr/100lt doses. The highest death rates in the nymphs were determined in Spruzit Neu 600ml/100lt dose as 72,5%; and in Dipel DF dose as 80%. These rates were determined in Pyrethrum 600 ml/100lt dose as 78%, and in Dipel DF 500 gr/100lt dose as 75%. As a conclusion, it was determined that both biopesticides are influential on the nymphs and adults of M.pruinosa. However, it was also determined that the fight will be more influential in the nymph period of the insect.

Essential oils are of increasing interest because of the increased risk of chemical contamination with synthetic pesticides to control pests. The chemical constituents of essential oils of flowers and leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis were produced with steam distillation in Clevenger apparatus in this study. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) were used to analyse the oil and to identify 38 components that represent 99.80 % of the total oil, with α-Pinene (27.02%), 1.8-Cineole (25.1%), Camphor (13.11%), Borneol (6.43%), and Linalool (4.27%). The essential oil of R. officinalis was applied with as 10, 15, and 20 μL/petri to determine the larvicidal efficacy and Lethal Dose (LD) toxicity of R. officinalis essential oil on P. abietina larvae in the laboratory. Deaths were observed at different proportions at R. officinalis essential oil applications at 10, 15, and 20 μL/Petri doses at 24 th , 48 th , 72 nd and 96 th hours on four instar larvae of P. abietina (38.3-100%). According to LD50 and LD90 values, the highest toxicity was found as L1 (0.63 μl/larvae), and the lowest toxicity was found as L4 (10.94 μl / larvae). As a result, rosemary essential oil showed high toxicity against L1 and L2 instar larvae of P. abietina.

There are numerous methods used for its control. Due to the increased risk of chemical contamination upon the application of synthetic insecticides to control harmful insects, essential oils are gaining increasing attention. In this research, the insecticidal effectiveness of Satureja spicigera (C. Koch) Boiss (Laminaceae) essential oil at 10, 15 and 20 μL/mL doses, and 24, 48, 72 and 96 h against five nymph instars and adults of H. halys was investigated. In addition, the chemical analysis of S. spicigera essential oil was done by GC-MS. The major components of the S. spicigera oil were carvacrol (32.14%), thymol (20.01%), ɣ-terpinene (17.05%), p-cymene (9.08%) and carvacrol methyl ether (5.70%). At the 96th h of the study, the essential oil caused a mortality rate of between 20.1 and 87.5%. The positive control (Nimbecidine®) had the highest mortality rates for nymphs (100%) and adults (90.3%). According to the LD50 and LD90 values, while the most toxic LD50 values were recorded as 0.63 and 4.66 μL/mL for the N1 instar and adults, the lowest LD90 values were 19.12 and 26.32 μL/mL for the N5 instar and adults, respectively. In conclusion, results showed that S. spicigera oil had a highly toxic effect against five nymph instars and adults of H. halys.

We provided checklist of the mammalian fauna of Artvin based on direct observations, interviews and available literature. A total of 55 mammals belonging to 20 families (total 6 orders; insectivora (7), chiroptera (14), lagomorpha (1), rodentia (18), carnivora (10) and artiodactyla (5)) were reported in Artvin. Twenty nine mammal species were identified by direct observation, and by observation of breeding areas, traces and feces. Although not observed on site during the field studies or reported by inhabitants, twenty six additional species are considered likely to occur in the study area based on literature information. The extent to which the various groups of animals in the study areas are to be protected under the Bern Convention or cited on the IUCN Red List varies from one group to another. There are no endemic species in Artvin mammal fauna. There are 5 NT, 1 VU, 48 LC, 1 DD species have been introduced. Some of the mammal species that were observed or reported in the study area are listed in Annex 2 (18 species) or Annex 3 (13 species).
