Galeazzi fractures result from hyperpronation injuries to the forearm. They require stabilization by internal fixation. Reportedly, the incidence of distal ulna fracture with a galeazzi is rare. Case Presentation: A 48-year-old woman with displaced closed fracture of the distal shaft left radius and left distal intraarticular ulna. The patient experienced deformity and swelling in his left forearm after a motorcycle accident. Based on these, we diagnosed the patient with a Galeazzi equivalent fracture. Therefore, open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) was conducted using an LC-DCP plate and screw technique. Discussion: From the report reviewed in this study, a quick diagnosis with prompt treatment makes like a Galeazzi-type fracture. Almost all four other studies apart from our study reported a good Galeazzi-type fracture. One case was initially treated operatively by internal fixation but later proceeded with distal ulna fracture with internal fixation, which ended with an excellent outcome. Conclusion: Distal ulna fracture with a galeazzi-type fracture. Risk correlated significantly or not is still need a further study to be done.

The appearance of a pulsatile preauricular mass after a traumatism is highly suggestive of the diagnosis. Diagnostic techniques are echo-doppler, CT-scan and arteriography. The most common treatment is surgical. Embolization may prove to be an alternative to surgery in some cases. We report a rare case of pseudoaneurysm arising from STA caused by blunt injury.

Peripheral nerve injuries greatly impact an individual"s activities of daily living (ADL), which in turn affects the quality of life. Its effect focuses on the enhanced gene expression, which includes (NGF, BDNF, NT 4/5, cAMP, and VEGF), expedites and enhance guidance of axonal regeneration into its proper pathway. Thus, ES allows early onset of regeneration by reducing staggering time, which increases the likelihood for more axons to cross the coaptation site within a proper pathway instead of increasing its regeneration rate. This review aims to understand the physiological nerve regeneration process with the use of ES and the appropriate application to be given in peripheral nerve injuries.

The challenge is to recognize the characteristic of TB disease, including extrapulmonary presentation. TB arthritis is an extrapulmonary TB presentation in the joint, which is frequently neglected and misdiagnosed. A 41-year-old female patient was presented with a major complaint of chronic pain in her left wrist for three months. The patient had a low-grade fever without respiratory symptoms. Local examination revealed swelling, warmth and tenderness. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was increased and chest radiograph demonstrated pulmonary TB. She underwent arthrotomy debridement and culture examination. We initiated adjuvant anti-tuberculous treatment. On the evaluation, she reported relief from pain and showed improvement in general condition. TB arthritis is unique due to its rare incidence and unspecific clinical manifestations. A better understanding of these issues will prevent possible diagnost...

Candida is the cause of most systemic fungal infections that plays a role in the pathophysiology of sepsis in newborns, especially in premature infants with late-onset sepsis. The Candida score can be used to assess the occurrence of systemic candidosis where a Candida score 2.5 can accurately identify patients who are at high risk for candidiasis infection. Monocytes also play an important role in preventing candida invasion. Materials and methods. This study used a cross sectional research design. Data was collected from premature infants with late-onset sepsis being suspected of systemic candidosis in neonatology inpatient ward. It was submitted from the period of November-December 2021. It takes a minimum of 31 samples to meet the criteria to process and analyze the data. The data obtained were processed and analyzed using the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) method to obtain the Area Under Curve (AUC) value. Based on the AUC curve, the search for the most o...

Several first-line management strategies for treating rotator cuff disease, such as physical rehabilitation and/or injection, have been reported. However, optimum management is debatable. This study aims to explore the outcome management combination of prolotherapy and physical rehabilitation with physical rehabilitation only for PTRCT. Randomized Control Trial (RCT) studies From PubMed, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, And Google Scholar were included. Two independent reviewers evaluated the quality of RCTs using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool. The primary result was pain reduction, with functional improvement as a secondary outcome. Meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.4 software. Our meta-analysis included 5 RCT studies involving 263 patients. Standardized mean difference (SMD) was collected from all of the studies. In ...

One of the deleterious effects of tourniquet is ischemic-reperfusion injury, which occurs after deflation of the tourniquet. One of the possible ways to mitigate ischemic-reperfusion injury is by administrating antioxidants to reduce oxidative stress. Natural ingredients like Aloe vera are well known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. This experimental study was conducted by fracturing the tibia of male Wistar strain rats (Rattus norvegicus) and administering Aloe vera gel orally as antioxidant. Method: A total of 18 rats were used in this study, divided into 6 groups. The first group was the control group, that included rats with fractured tibia not receiving torniquet and aloe vera treatment. The second and third groups were rats with fracture, who received torniquet application for one hour and two hours respectively without aloe vera treatment. The rest were the treatment groups, the rats with factures were given different dosages of Aloe vera extract: 40 mg/kg bodyweight (BW), 60 mg/kg BW, and 80 mg/kg BW. Three hours after administration, the tourniquet was inflated for two hours, followed by its deflation. The tibia was harvested to examine levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD), Malondialdehyde (MDA), and Bone morphogenetic protein 7 (BMP-7), and callus diameter, and osteoblast numbers were evaluated. Result: Administration of Aloe vera extract reduced the oxidative stress parameters (SOD and MDA). Tourniquet application decreased the osteoblast cell count and callus diameter, and administration of Aloe vera extract increased both variables close to the control value (p<0.05). Conclusion: The result of this study suggests that Aloe vera extract could be used to ameliorate ischemic-reperfusion injury.
