This paper aims to explain the procedures for the massempek game. The qualitative approach results showed that massempek is only conducted once a year when the ritual is carried out at the Perrinyameng. The ritual in Perrinyameng is to visit the ancestral graves of the Tolotang people. This massempek game is carried out as entertainment for the people in Perrinyameng. Massempek is a game that requires courage to kick the opponent and dodge the opponent's kick. This game is only played by small children who are brave and not afraid. The children's players are those from the Tolotang community. That is done to avoid conflicts with the surrounding community who are not from the Tolotang community. Massempek is included in agility games that require physical endurance. Folk games are part of the culture of society and as a characteristic of the identity of the wearer. The values of sacredness, caring, and familiarity are the unifying tools of the nation. Massempek folk games are part of the Tolotang people's culture that should be preserved.

According to the 2017 global burden of disease report, it was indicated that the number of individuals worldwide suffering from hypertension will have reached 1.56 billion by 2025, indicating a 60% rise in its global prevalence. 1 Research conducted in various countries has revealed a global rise in the prevalence of hypertension, primarily attributed to such factors as population growth, aging, and changes in behavioral risks. Middle-and low-income countries experienced a significant increase in hypertension prevalence in comparison with high-income countries in recent years. 1, 2 Brisk walking exercise, as a form of aerobic exercise, can involve major muscle groups, increase oxygen consumption, and improve physical fitness. When you do brisk walking exercises every day, the body moves, the muscles and nerves also move, and you sweat. These movements can respond to changes in physical and physiological functions, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and muscles. Regular brisk walking not only strengthens the muscles, but also improves the blood and oxygen circulation in the body, optimizing the body metabolism. The central nervous system works better, so the body feels refreshed, and the brain works better. 3, 4 A study showed the effect of brisk walking exercise on increasing the oxygen volume to its maximum in overweight and non-elderly obese females. 4 A systematic review showed that the benefits of brisk walking included enhancing cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength, and body composition in the elderly. However, further research is needed to validate the effects of brisk walking, endurance, and overall life satisfaction in this group. 5 A pilot study showed that 60 minutes of brisk walking, three times a week for 12 weeks, can reduce systolic blood pressure in the elderly patients with hypertension. Engaging in brisk walking can potentially decrease the sympathetic activity and increase the vagal tone, which may result in a decrease in peripheral resistance. It is widely recognized that consistent physical activity can lower norepinephrine levels by around 30%, and these reductions may correspond to the decrease in resting blood pressure. 6 It seems that brisk walking exercise is effective for the elderly people with hypertension. Frequency, intensity, time, and type of the principles of brtisk walking training should be examined for better evaluation of the effect of the exercise on the hypertension of the elderly in future research.

The construction of this pinisi ship as local wisdom was designed and calculated for each component of the raw material carefully and thoroughly. High quality wood raw materials are the main elements in the process of making a pinisi boat to produce a quality pinisi boat. The purpose of this study was to determine the inventory control model for pinisi shipbuilding raw materials in Bontobahari District, Bulukumba Regency. This research was conducted in Bontobahari District, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Determining the research location was carried out with the consideration that the area is the center of the pinisi shipbuilding industry. This study aimed to describe the maritime trade in the half of XVI and XVII centuries. The method... more This study aimed to describe the maritime trade in the half of XVI and XVII centuries. The method used was the historical method, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the study, it was found that Makassar traders played a central role in the archipelago maritime trade. The fall of Malacca Strait made Makassar as a new trading port that allowed the Makassar traders in a higher mobility. Makassar got a significant change as a trading center in the XVI century, previously in the XV century before becoming a trading center. Makassar traders established trade relations with foreign traders from Europe, China, India, and Arabic. The commodities traded were spices, textiles, and porcelain. The free trade policy at Makassar Port was a determining factor for the success of Makassar in attracting foreign traders to do their trading activities at Makassar Port.

Tulisan ini menjelaskan tentang peran istri nelayan dalam sektor domestik dan publik. Metode yang... more Tulisan ini menjelaskan tentang peran istri nelayan dalam sektor domestik dan publik. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa istri nelayan menjalankan dua peran sekaligus dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Peran ganda tersebut adalah mengurus rumah tangganya dan membantu suami dalam berusaha untuk meningkatkan ekonomi keluarga. Peran istri dalam keluarga adalah mengurus segala kebutuhan sehari-hari suami dan anak-anaknya, sedangkan di sektor publik, istri nelayan bekerja secara nonformal sesuai dengan kemampuannya. Walaupun menjalankan dua peran sekaligus, istri nelayan melakukannya dengan ikhlas demi keluarga dan menghadapi situasi ekonomi sederhana. Dengan menjalankan peran ganda tersebut, setidaknya ada bantuan dana untuk kebutuhan yang tidak terduga.

Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, pengamatan, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemiskinan nelayan disebabkan oleh kurangnya keberpihakan dari pemerintah terhadap kehidupan nelayan di Desa Aeng Batu-batu. Program pemerintah belum menyentuh seluruh lapisan masyarakat miskin karena kurangnya informasi tentang budaya masyarakatnya. Hal tersebut menyebabkan hanya segolongan masyarakat saja yang merasakan program pemerintah dalam rangka pengentasan kemiskinan. Selain itu, masyarakat nelayan di Desa Aeng Batu-batu memiliki budaya perilaku di mana keadaan yang terjadi dalam kehidupan mereka dianggap sebagai sebuah takdir sehingga hanya bisa bersikap pasrah. This paper explains the weaving activities of people in South Sulawesi, which expressed through d... more This paper explains the weaving activities of people in South Sulawesi, which expressed through dance movements called pattennung dance. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are using literature studies, observations, and interviews. The results show that pattennung dance is a dance that illustrates the weaving activities of Bugis women when they have leisure time. This dance is created by its creator with deep appreciation and creates a beautiful, graceful movement. Every action has a meaning that can be identified by linking the movements of the dancers with the weaving activities undertaken by the weavers. Every element in the movement has a name by cultural activities starting from the beginning of the weaving process to finishing the weaving work, namely the creation of silk woven fabric. In pattennung dance, it can illustrate the agility, tenacity, and patience of the weaves when they do their work. It takes concentration and focuses. Thus, it produces beautiful silk fabric. Therefore, the musical instrument is essential in accompanying dancers to express every movement when fast or slow, movements when it requires patience and perseverance, and actions that indicate the moving changing of the dancers. To show the beautiful movements in the pattennung dance, it takes the cohesiveness of the dancers to create an element of beauty in the dance.

Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa pengamatan, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan FGD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberagaman bukan menjadi penghalang bagi masyarakat untuk berhubungan baik satu dengan yang lain. Untuk menciptakan keharmonisan dalam masyarakat, dibutuhkan sebuah modal yang bersifat sosial dalam rangka menetralisasi risiko terjadinya konflik karena perbedaan yang ada. Modal sosial menjadi sarana menjalin hubungan; meredam ego dan kepentingan pribadi atau golongan; dan menyatukan perbedaan, sehingga keberagaman dalam suatu lingkungan masyarakat terjalin harmonis. Adanya kesepakatan bersama menjadi modal dalam berinteraksi di masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang makna dari pakaian adat suku Tambee yang berada di Sulawesi Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa dokumentasi, pengamatan, dan wawancara dengan informan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pakaian adat Suku Tambee memiliki beragam jenis tergantung pada kegiatan yang dilakukan. Nelayan Untia merupakan nelayan yang berasal dari Pulau Laelae yang direlokasi ke daerah Untiadi Kecamatan Biringkanaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, pengamatan langsung, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola permukiman nelayan untia berbentuk kelompok perumahan yang terpisahkan oleh jalan kecil dan kanal. Kanal berfungsi sebagai arus mobilitas nelayan dari atau ke laut. This paper aims to explain the uwa as a community leader to become a facilitator in various probl... more This paper aims to explain the uwa as a community leader to become a facilitator in various problems that occur in the community. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and literature study. The results showed that uwa as the leader of the Tolotang community were fair in solving any problems that occurred regardless of whether the problems faced involved people outside Tolotang. Uwa is trusted by the community as a leader who decides things wisely because what uwa does is an extension of god's hand. Every problem that is resolved is mutually agreed upon through deliberation and is not authoritarian. And the community carries out every decision that has been taken by uwa because it is considered the best, whether it is obeyed by the Tolotang people themselves, or those outside the Tolotang. The charisma of a leader can be felt by the community when the leader himself guards his life without blemish.

Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa istri nelayan menjalankan dua peran sekaligus dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Peran ganda tersebut adalah mengurus rumah tangganya dan membantu suami dalam berusaha untuk meningkatkan ekonomi keluarga. Peran istri dalam keluarga adalah mengurus segala kebutuhan sehari-hari suami dan anak-anaknya, sedangkan di sektor publik, istri nelayan bekerja secara nonformal sesuai dengan kemampuannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, pengamatan, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemiskinan nelayan disebabkan oleh kurangnya keberpihakan dari pemerintah terhadap kehidupan nelayan di Desa Aeng Batu-batu. Program pemerintah belum menyentuh seluruh lapisan masyarakat miskin karena kurangnya informasi tentang budaya masyarakatnya. Hal tersebut menyebabkan hanya segolongan masyarakat saja yang merasakan program pemerintah dalam rangka pengentasan kemiskinan. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are using literature studies, observations, and interviews. The results show that pattennung dance is a dance that illustrates the weaving activities of Bugis women when they have leisure time. This dance is created by its creator with deep appreciation and creates a beautiful, graceful movement. Every action has a meaning that can be identified by linking the movements of the dancers with the weaving activities undertaken by the weavers. Every element in the movement has a name by cultural activities starting from the beginning of the weaving process to finishing the weaving work, namely the creation of silk woven fabric. In pattennung dance, it can illustrate the agility, tenacity, and patience of the weaves when they do their work. It takes concentration and focuses. Thus, it produces beautiful silk fabric. Therefore, the musical instrument is essential in accompanying dancers to express every movement when fast or slow, movements when it requires patience and perseverance, and actions that indicate the moving changing of the dancers. To show the beautiful movements in the pattennung dance, it takes the cohesiveness of the dancers to create an element of beauty in the dance.

Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa pengamatan, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan FGD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberagaman bukan menjadi penghalang bagi masyarakat untuk berhubungan baik satu dengan yang lain. Untuk menciptakan keharmonisan dalam masyarakat, dibutuhkan sebuah modal yang bersifat sosial dalam rangka menetralisasi risiko terjadinya konflik karena perbedaan yang ada. Modal sosial menjadi sarana menjalin hubungan; meredam ego dan kepentingan pribadi atau golongan; dan menyatukan perbedaan, sehingga keberagaman dalam suatu lingkungan masyarakat terjalin harmonis. Adanya kesepakatan bersama menjadi modal dalam berinteraksi di masyarakat. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa dokumentasi, pengamatan, dan wawancara dengan informan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pakaian adat Suku Tambee memiliki beragam jenis tergantung pada kegiatan yang dilakukan. Nelayan Untia merupakan nelayan yang berasal dari Pulau Laelae yang direlokasi ke daerah Untiadi Kecamatan Biringkanaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, pengamatan langsung, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola permukiman nelayan untia berbentuk kelompok perumahan yang terpisahkan oleh jalan kecil dan kanal. Kanal berfungsi sebagai arus mobilitas nelayan dari atau ke laut. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and literature study. The results showed that uwa as the leader of the Tolotang community were fair in solving any problems that occurred regardless of whether the problems faced involved people outside Tolotang. Uwa is trusted by the community as a leader who decides things wisely because what uwa does is an extension of god's hand. Every problem that is resolved is mutually agreed upon through deliberation and is not authoritarian. And the community carries out every decision that has been taken by uwa because it is considered the best, whether it is obeyed by the Tolotang people themselves, or those outside the Tolotang. The charisma of a leader can be felt by the community when the leader himself guards his life without blemish.
