Operational enzymatic variables were investigated for further studies on feeding optimization. Ontogenetic change of the digestive system of S. paramamosain was enzymatically (trypsin, chymotrypsin, pepsin, amylase and alkaline phosphatase) evaluated. Results showed that these enzymes were already presented in the larvae before exogenous feeding. The first detection after hatching was low activity and gradually increased from Z3 except trypsin, and chymotrypsin activity increased from Z5 stage. Alkaline phosphatase activity peaked at Z2 and Z4, followed by a sharp fall in Z5 and megalope. Trypsin and Chymotrypsin activities were also decreased from Z3 to Z5, then sharply increased from Z5; however, Chymotrypsin activity decreased after megalope stage. Pepsin activity was detectable after hatching and regularly increased through the larval development. Amylase activity was low from hatching to Z3 and then suddenly increased. Alkaline phosphatase activity was recorded with the highest activity at Z2 and Z4, then complex variation, particularly at Z3 and megalope stage. The study constitutes physiological information on ontogenic development as well as the digestive abilities of mud crab larvae further, facilitates feeding diet formulation and larviculture of this species.

Thalassas: An International Journal of Marine Sciences, 2018

Caligus minimus, known as a sea louse, is a very important pathogen of sea floating cage culture.... more Caligus minimus, known as a sea louse, is a very important pathogen of sea floating cage culture. This paper describes the life cycle of Caligus minimus isolated from seabass culture in the cage in Penang, Malaysia. The parasitic copepod development was observed at 30°C and 20°C, with ambient photoperiod under laboratory conditions. Female of Caligus minimus with matured eggs were collected and incubated in a beaker with slow aeration. The life cycle consists of nine stages: two nauplii, one copepodid, four chalimi, pre-adult, and adult. The copepodid is infective, and all subsequent stages were attached to fish and did not require an intermediate host for its development. The eggs hatched out within 48 h at 30°C and within 60 h at 20°C, and two nauplii stages were recorded after 1.88 ± 0.74 h and 4.23 ± 1.02 h, respectively. Copepodid stage was informed after 24.91 ± 2.24 h. A single experiment conducted by exposing an uninfected sea bass fingerling to copepod showed the copepodid immediately attached to the body, fins, and gills of the fish. Chalimus stage was observed after 20.95 ± 3.70 h followed by pre-adult stage after 45.88 ± 5.95 h. Within 44.5 ± 1.08 h, the adult was found and showed the female became mature and lay the eggs after 43.25 ± 3.11 h. At 20°C, Copepodid was recorded after 25.86 ± 1.40 h and completed Chalimus stage within 40 h. Conclusively, 5.5-10 days were needed for Caligus minimus to complete its life cycle at tested temperature.

However, interference from the hotspots deteriorates the communication performance of original cellular system. In this paper, in order to decrease these interference, we set up the access point of hotspots with the adaptive array antenna and code assignment method between the cellular and the hotspot communication are considered. OFDM hotspot communication is overlapped to the uplink of MC/DS-CDMA cellular system in the same frequency band and we propose the beam forming method to eliminate inter-system interference. Moreover, by allocating orthogonal variable spreading factors (OVSF) code to the both hotspot users and cellular users in the hotspot uplink period, the orthogonality of each user is kept. As a result, we can embed many hotspots into the cellular system with very small interference toward the uplink communica...

The identification of relationship between those species was also assessed using molecular tool. Most of slipper orchid species in Vietnam are now endangered or threatened to extinction due high demand of ornamental trade of these beautiful species. However, it is difficult to distinguish them without their flowers. Therefore, it is needed to develop molecular markers to accurately identify these species. Our present study is in the view to set the first steps in constructing a molecular database of slipper orchids for future assessment of inter-and intra-specific molecular diversity of Paphiopedilum species from Vietnam, to contribute to the conservation of these valuable orchids. The results showed that highly variable areas (that contain many indels) in ITS region are useful for phylogenetic analysis as the dataset containing these long-indels areas and gave better Jack-knife supports in resolving the relationships of Paphiopedilum species than the modified dataset did.

It has been reported that the orientation of Ir film deposited on YSZ film depends on the deposition rate. In our case, the surface of the YSZySi structure was cleaned by diluted HF solution, just before loading the sample to the sputtering chamber. It was found that even when the sputtering gas pressure was increased to 15 Pa and the deposition rate from 0.5 to 60 nmymin, respectively, the Ir film was still epitaxially grown with a high (1 0 0) orientation. This is because the diluted HF solution treatment cleaned off the YSZySi surface. When the deposition rate was increased, the crystalline quality and resistivity of the film were decreased and increased, respectively.

Research paper thumbnail of Frequency Sharing Hotspot Communication using OFDM Adaptive Array Antenna under Uplink Multi-Carrier CDMA Cellular System

Research paper thumbnail of Molecular phylogeny of the endangered Vietnamese Paphiopedilum species based on the internal transcribed spacer of the nuclear ribosomal DNA

With an intermediate electrode inserted between a ferroelectric capacitor and a MIS-FET, the memory is potential to solve problems of short retention time, high operation voltage and instability performance of conventional ferroelectric gate FET memory. The memory was experimentally and theoretically investigated and was verified to be practicable.
