The practice of environmentally friendly shallot cultivation is nowadays widely applied by farmer... more The practice of environmentally friendly shallot cultivation is nowadays widely applied by farmers, beside reducing environmental contamination and producing agricultural products that are safe for consumption, it can also increase shallot production. This study aimed to determine the effect of biochar, compost, and organic pesticides on the growth and yield of shallot, and the activity of microorganisms in the soil. The study was conducted in Klampok Village, Wanasari, Brebes Regency from January to July 2020 using a complete randomized block design with nine treatments which were a combination of biochar, compost, organic pesticides, recommended dose of pesticides, and farmers’ dose of pesticides. The shallot seed used was the Bima Brebes variety. Soil characteristics, compost nutrient contents, plant growth, shallot yield, and total soil bacteria population were measured. Central Java is one of the centers of shallot production in Indonesia. The number of anthropogeni... more Central Java is one of the centers of shallot production in Indonesia. The number of anthropogenic activities in the area causes the accumulation of heavy metal contamination in the soil. This study aimed to determine the heavy metal content of Cadmium (Cd) in three regencies of shallot production centers in Central Java. The study was conducted in three regencies of shallot production centers in Central Java: Pati, Demak, and Brebes Regency. Soil samples were taken by the purposive sampling method. The highest Cd content was found in Brebes Regency at 3.53 mg kg-1, and the lowest was in Pati Regency with a value of 1.10 mg kg-1. The value of the geoaccumulation index shows the presence of Cd contamination from anthropogenic activities. In Pati and Demak Recency contaminated with Cd with moderate to heavy status, Brebes Regency showed Cd contamination as serious. The high content of Cd in the Brebes Regency with severe contamination status is thought to be due to the intensity of cultivation and the increased use of agrochemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides.

Assessment of heavy metals contamination was carried out in agricultural soil in Wanasari, Brebes... more Assessment of heavy metals contamination was carried out in agricultural soil in Wanasari, Brebes Regency, Central Java Province. The study purposed to assess the level of metal contamination using statistical analysis, contamination factor (CF), geo-accumulation index (I-geo), and load pollution index (PLI). In this research, a total of 18 topsoil samples were taken and analyzed for the several metal concentrations are Pb, Cd, Cr, Co, and Ni. The concentration of heavy metals in soil samples was in the order of Cr > Ni > Pb > Co > Cd. The I-geo values of Pb, Co, Ni, and Cr indicated uncontaminated soils, while I-geo values for Cd showed level contamination in soil was uncontaminated to moderately contaminated. The values of pollution load index (PLI) indicated that these observed samples in agricultural soils for shallot in Wanasari, Brebes Regency were uncontaminated.

The presence of heavy metals in agricultural land is a serious problem because heavy metals are t... more The presence of heavy metals in agricultural land is a serious problem because heavy metals are toxic, persistent, and non-biodegradable, so they can have an impact on the environment and human health. This study aims to analyze the distribution of heavy metals in agricultural land in Batu City and analyze the public health risks associated with metal concentrations in agricultural land. This study used a survey method for taking soil samples with a total of 292 points for taking soil samples. The analyzes performed included spatial analysis, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis, cluster analysis, and health risk analysis. The results of this study indicate that the concentrations of heavy metals Cd, Co, and As in agricultural land in Batu City have exceeded the critical limits (3, 25, and 2 mg kg-1). Pertumbuhan industri yang meningkat dengan pesat di wilayah Daerah Aliran Sungai memungkinkan terjadinya pencemaran berbagai jenis logam berat di lahan sawah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji kemampuan tanaman mendong (Fimbristylis globulosa) yang ditanam dengan inokulasi bakteri penghasil eksopolisakarida Azotobacter maupun arang aktif dalam menurunkan kandungan kadmium (Cd) dan timbal (Pb) dari tanah serta meningkatkan serapannya di tanaman mendong. Penelitian rumah kaca ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan empat perlakuan yang diulang tiga kali. In general, tailings contain very low organic carbon and plant nutrients but are high in mercury and have extreme soil acidity. The objective of this study was to observe the growth of various legume cover crops (LCC) and the change of Hg in tailing inoculated with Azotobacter-Trichoderma. The field trial was conducted on Buru Island of Maluku by using a split-plot design with three replications. The main plot was LCC species, composed of Centrosema pubescens (CP), Mucuna sp. (MC), and Crotalaria sp. (CR); the subplots were microbial inoculants composed of two formulations of Azotobacter-Trochoderma inoculants. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai tingkat kontaminasi logam berat pada lahan pertanian di Kabupaten Bandung (DAS Hulu Sungai Citarum) dengan menganalisis faktor kontaminasi, faktor resiko ekologi, indeks beban polusi dan tingkat akumulasi logam berat yang berasal dari sumber antrhopogenik. Penentuan titik pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan secara grid pada satuan (unit) lahan pada peta penggunaan lahan. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan dengan metode survey pada 273 titik lokasi. Sampel tanah dianalisis kandungan logam berat Pb, Cd, Cr, Co dan Ni, kemudian dianalisis pola sebaran dan kontaminasi tanahnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan konsentrasi logam berat pada beras yang ditanam pada lahan pertanian di Kabupaten Bandung dan menganalisis risiko kesehatan masyarakat yang mengkonsumsi beras tersebut.Metode: penentuan lokasi pengambilan contoh dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling pada lahan pertanian yang siap panen di beberapa kecamatan di Kabupaten Bandung dengan jumlah contoh beras sebanyak 26 sampel. Analisis logam berat yang dilakukan adalah analisis logam berat Pb, Cd, Cr, Ni, Co, Cu dan Zn dengan ekstrak HNO3:HClO4 dan diukur menggunakan Atomic Absorbption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Pertumbuhan industri yang meningkat dengan pesat di wilayah Daerah Aliran Sungai memungkinkan terjadinya pencemaran berbagai jenis logam berat di lahan sawah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji kemampuan tanaman mendong (Fimbristylis globulosa) yang ditanam dengan inokulasi bakteri penghasil eksopolisakarida Azotobacter maupun arang aktif dalam menurunkan kandungan kadmium (Cd) dan timbal (Pb) dari tanah serta meningkatkan serapannya di tanaman mendong. Penelitian rumah kaca ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan empat perlakuan yang diulang tiga kali. In general, tailings contain very low organic carbon and plant nutrients but are high in mercury and have extreme soil acidity. The objective of this study was to observe the growth of various legume cover crops (LCC) and the change of Hg in tailing inoculated with Azotobacter-Trichoderma. The field trial was conducted on Buru Island of Maluku by using a split-plot design with three replications. The main plot was LCC species, composed of Centrosema pubescens (CP), Mucuna sp. (MC), and Crotalaria sp. (CR); the subplots were microbial inoculants composed of two formulations of Azotobacter-Trochoderma inoculants. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai tingkat kontaminasi logam berat pada lahan pertanian di Kabupaten Bandung (DAS Hulu Sungai Citarum) dengan menganalisis faktor kontaminasi, faktor resiko ekologi, indeks beban polusi dan tingkat akumulasi logam berat yang berasal dari sumber antrhopogenik. Penentuan titik pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan secara grid pada satuan (unit) lahan pada peta penggunaan lahan. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan dengan metode survey pada 273 titik lokasi. The objectives of the study were to know effect of organic fertlizer that high iron content on growth and production paddy rice. Pot experiment was conducted on May to November 2011 in green house. This experiment using a randomized complete block design with two factors; the types of soil (Endoaquert, Tropaquept, and Hapludult) and organic fertilizerenriched with Fe (FeCl3) in various level.
