The business environment has become fiercely competitive due to higher customer expectations. The... more The business environment has become fiercely competitive due to higher customer expectations. The fierce competition has forced companies to enhance their competitiveness which leads to a need of supply chain performance measurement. Its existing tool appropriate and used broadly for SMEs in Thailand is the supply chain assessment tool (SCPAT) of Banomyong and Supatn. The SCPAT is capable of quantitatively measuring and evaluating individual supply chain measures, but not considering their causal linkages as holistic system thinking. This paper aims to develop a CAusaL Linkage-based Systematic tool (CALLS) as an extension of the SCPAT. The developed CALLS were successfully validated in an industrial case. It provided suggestions based on sensitivity analyses to the causal supply chain measures.

Logistics Service Providers; LSPs become important in logistics and supply chain management nowad... more Logistics Service Providers; LSPs become important in logistics and supply chain management nowadays due to the outsourcing of logistics activities. The performance of logistics service providers, hence, affect logistics and supply chain management of LSP users. In order to ensure the performance, Business Excellence Models are employed. The ELMA Award are developed from MBNQA principle with the believe that the award can ensure the business excellence in LSPs. The study of causal relationship among criteria is required so that the model can be used for self-assessment in LSP. This research aims to study the causal relationships among the criteria of business excellence for LSPs employing DEMATEL methodology. The DEMATEL questionnaires are completed by the in-depth interview with 11 industry experts from various types of LSPs. The result reveals the essential causal relationship among the criteria of business excellence for LSPs. These relationships can be used in creating improvement initiative for LSPs. The result from DEMATEL also shows that Leadership, Planning, and Customer and Market focuses, are the most important criteria towards business excellence for LSPs. In addition, Innovation in products and services should be included for LSPs business excellence.

Previous studies of hospital supply chain performance measurement normally focus on either the pe... more Previous studies of hospital supply chain performance measurement normally focus on either the performance of the hospital supply chain to be measured and the framework/methodology for performance measurement, or the performance of certain activities/processes in the chain for improvement. There is limited number of studies that explore the entire hospital supply chain performance concurrently with the processes in the hospital supply chain. This paper attempts to explore the performance of hospital supply chain and link them to the activities of the hospital supply chain in order to see the relationship of performance on the hospital supply chain activities to eventually identify the key performance indicator for the particular process. The result of the study shows that relationship of hospital supply chain performance, the business process and the link between the two can yield the key performance indicator for the considered process.

Each production stage to be scheduled in typical flow shop scheduling contains only one machine. However, in automotive part industry, many parts are produced in sequential flow shop containing more than one machines in each production stage. This circumstance cannot apply the existing method of flow shop scheduling. The objective of this research is to schedule the production process of automotive parts. The feature production is hybrid flow shop which consists of two-stages. In each stage, there are several manufacturing machines and each machine can produce more than one product. The lengthy discharge process would elevate the frustration to the patient. This concerns the hospital's executive. They feel that the discharging process performed in the hospital is time consuming and consequently results in patients waiting and blocking beds from new admission. The purpose of this paper is to attempt service process redesign by applying the concept of value stream analysis as well as the service process design. The attempt to apply value stream mapping to the service process has also been made despite of its complexity to the service context [11]. Waste can be identified applying the service waste terminology [8]. The proposed discharging process is developed.
