A total of 500 one-day-old Ross-308 broiler chickens of mixed sex were separated into one Arg-deficient group and four experimental groups. Each group was then divided into five subgroups of 20 birds each. Arginine deficient group for all phases was fed a basal diet which contained 10% less L-Arg than optimum Arg requirement recommended by the breeder. Experimental groups were fed a basal diet supplemented with L-Arg which was progressively 10% increased in groups. Thus, the diet contained 90, 100, 110, 120 and 130% of optimum Arg requirement for each phases in groups, respectively.The highest serum infectious bursal disease antibody titer (IBD) was observed in the experimental group which was fed the diet containing 110% L-Arg at grower phase (P<0.05),...

Yumurtacı bıldırcın rasyonlarına ketencik (Camelina sativa L.) küspesi ilavesinin performans, yum... more Yumurtacı bıldırcın rasyonlarına ketencik (Camelina sativa L.) küspesi ilavesinin performans, yumurta kalite özellikleri ve lipid peroksidasyon üzerine etkisi Amaç: Bu araştırma yumurtacı bıldırcın rasyonlarına ketencik (Camelina sativa L.) küspesi ilavesinin performans ve yumurta kalite özellikleri ile serum ve yumurtada lipid peroksidasyon üzerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmada toplam 240 adet (160 dişi ve 80 erkek) sekiz haftalık Japon bıldırcını (Coturnix coturnix japonica) her biri 48 bıldırcından oluşan 1 kontrol ve 4 deneme grubuna ayrıldı. Her bir grup da 12 bıldırcından oluşan 4 alt gruba ayrıldı. Kontrol grubu ketencik küspesi (KK) ilavesi yapılmayan (%0 KK) soya fasülyesi küspesi temeline dayanan temel rasyonla beslendi. Deneme gruplarının rasyonlarında KK %5 (KK5), 10 (KK10), 15 (KK15) ve 20 (KK20) düzeylerinde kullanıldı. Araştırma 8 haftada tamamlandı. Bulgular: Araştırmada yem tüketiminin KK15 ve KK20 gruplarında en düşük olduğu belirlendi (P<0.01). Son canlı ağırlığın (P<0.05) ve yumurta veriminin (P<0.01) KK15 ve KK20 gruplarında kontrol grubuna göre azaldığı tespit edildi. Sarı renk indeksinin 4. haftada KK20 grubunda (P<0.001), 8. haftada ise tüm deneme gruplarında arttığı (P<0.01) belirlendi. Başlangıç canlı ağırlık, yumurta ağırlığı, yemden yararlanma oranı, yumurta şekil indeksi, kabuk kalınlığı, ak indeks, sarı indeks ve Haugh biriminin rasyonlara ilave edilen KK'den etkilenmediği tespit edildi (P>0.05). Serum malondialdehid düzeyi KK10, KK15 ve KK20 gruplarında azalırken (P<0.05), serum antioksidan aktivite düzeyinin tüm deneme gruplarında kontrol grubuna göre arttığı (P<0.01) belirlendi. Yumurta sarısı malondialdehid düzeyinin depolamanın 1. (P<0.05) ve 15. (P<0.001) günlerinde kontrol grubuna göre deneme gruplarında azaldığı tespit edildi. Öneri: Yumurtacı bıldırcın rasyonlarına %10 düzeyine kadar KK ilavesinin performans üzerine herhangi bir olumsuz etkisi olmaksızın, lipid peroksidasyonunu önlediği ifade edilebilir.

In our study, the effect of essential oil obtained from Nigella sativa L. (NSE) on thyroid hormon... more In our study, the effect of essential oil obtained from Nigella sativa L. (NSE) on thyroid hormones and antioxidant balance in hypothyroidism (HT) and hyperthyroidism (HP) models induced by propylthiouracil(PTU) and L-thyroxine(LT4 ), respectively, in rats were investigated for 4 weeks. NSE was administered by gastric gavage at a dose of 200 mg/kg body weight. In this study, 48 male Wistar albino rats with an average weight of 180-290 g and age 5-6 months were divided into eight groups, as follows: groups with HT, (1) control, (2) HT, (3) NSE, and (4) HT + NSE; groups with HP, (1) control, (2) HP, (3), and NSE (4) HP + NSE. As a result, we found that NSE administration increased total triiodothyronine (TT3 ) and decreased nitric oxide in HT + NSE. Besides, it decreased TT3 in HP + NSE and increased total antioxidant capacity. Our findings suggest that NSE may have beneficial effects on thyroid gland abnormalities owing to its antioxidant properties. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Essential oils derived from Nigella sativa L. seed contain many bioactive substances such as thymoquinone and cymene. This paper emphasizes the effect of NSE on thyroid hormone abnormalities and negative oxidative state that occurs in HT and HP models. The present study provides evidence of a positive effect of NSE particularly on TT3 levels in the HT and HP models. It can therefore be assumed that NSE could be used as a supportive natural alternative source to improve thyroid hormone levels and relieve increased oxidative stress.

Twenty four bitches were divided into three groups (n=8 in each) and treated during premedication as follows: FM (2.2 mg/kg, iv, Fluvil, Vilsan, Turkey), M (0.2 mg/kg, sc, Maxicam, Sanovel, Turkey) or 0.9% saline (1 ml, iv, IE, Turkey) - control (C) group. The concentrations of serum cortisol, nitric oxide (NO), malondialdehyde (MDA), antioxidant potential (AOP) and glutation (GSH) were measured in blood samples collected during incision (0 h), closure of incision line (0.5 h) and 1, 2.5, 12 and 24 hours after incision. It was observed that cortisol level was higher at 0.5, 1 and 2.5 h in group C (p < 0.05), 0.5 h in group FM (p < 0.001), and 1 and 2.5 h in group M (p < 0.01), as compared to that determine at 0 h. Amaç: Bu çalışmada ovariektomize rat uterusunda 17β östradiolün doza bağımlı olarak endoteliyal n... more Amaç: Bu çalışmada ovariektomize rat uterusunda 17β östradiolün doza bağımlı olarak endoteliyal nitrik oksit sentaz (eNOS) ve indüklenebilir NOS (iNOS) enzimlerinin ekspresyon modelleri üzerine etkisinin Western blot yöntemiyle ortaya konulması amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Sprague Dawley ırkı, ovariektomize edilmiş, 3 aylık 40 adet dişi rat kullanıldı. Kontrol grubundaki ratlar (n=10) kasiçi, 3 gün boyunca susam yağı alırken, deneme grubundaki ratlara 3 gün boyunca 25 (n=10), 50 (n=10) ve 100 (n=10) µg/rat/gün dozlarında kas içi 17β östradiol uygulandı. Son uygulamadan 18 saat sonra ratlara servikal dislokasyon uygulandı. Uterus örnekleri vakit kaybetmeden uzaklaştırıldı. Uterus örneklerindeki eNOS ve iNOS enzimlerinin varlığı Western blot ile analiz edilerek elde edilen filmlerde dansitometri gerçekleştirildi. Bulgular: 25, 50 ve 100 µg/rat/gün 17β östradiol uygulamalarının eNOS ekspiresyonunu kontrol grubuna göre arttırdığı gözlendi. 25 ve 50 µg/rat/gün 17β östradiol gruplarındaki eNOS exspiresyonu relatif dansitesinin 100 µg/rat/gün 17β östradiol grubuna göre yüksek olduğu belirlendi. eNOS'a benzer şekilde, 25 ve 50 µg/rat/gün 17β östradiol gruplarındaki iNOS ekspiresyonunun kontrol ve 100 µg/rat/gün 17β östradiol gruplarına göre yüksek olduğu izlendi. Öneri: Östrojenin NOS/NO aktivitesine aracılık edebileceği ileri sürülebilir.

A total of 480 Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica), one-day-old, including both males and females, were randomly allocated into one control group and 4 treatment groups each consisting of 96 birds. The control group was fed on the basal diet, whereas the experimental groups were fed on the basal diet supplemented with 50 mg SNP/kg, 200 mg SNP/kg, 50 mg l-NAME/kg or 200 mg l-NAME/kg. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of diet supplemented with L-arginine (L-Arg)on g... more The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of diet supplemented with L-arginine (L-Arg)on growth performance, some serum biochemical parameters and duodenal motility of broilers during three time periods: 0 to 10, 11 to 28 and 29 to 42 days old. A total of 500, mixed sex, one-dayold Ross-308 broiler chicks were divided into five groups as follows: Arg deficient group and four experimental groups. Each group was then divided into five subgroups of 20 chicks each. Arg deficient group for all time periods was fed by basal diet which contained 10% less L-Arg than optimum Arg requirement recommended by the breeder. Experimental groups were fed by basal diet supplemented with L-Arg which was progressively 10% increased in groups. The highest body weight gain (BWG) was observed on days 11-28 and 0-42 in experimental group fed by basal diet supplemented with 110% L-Arg, whereas the lowest feed conversion ratio (FCR) was determined on days 29-42 and 0-42 in the same experimental group. Feed intake did not change in all three periods, while serum urea nitrogen level in the experimental group in which diet supplemented with 10% L-Arg, was lower than other groups on day 0-10. On contractility studies, it was observed that L-Arg inhibited the amplitude of contractions in duodenum in a dosedependent manner in vitro. These results suggest that the basal diet formulated with 90-130% Arg is not effective on growth performance of chicks on days 0-10, whereas the diet supplemented with 10% L-Arg more than optimum Arg requirement is adequate during the days 11-28 and 29-42. Moreover, although the L-Arg decreased the duodenal contractility in vitro, it is suggested that the diet supplemented with 10% L-Arg more than optimum Arg requirement may be negatively affected the FCR in broilers.

The aim of the present research was to determine the effects of arginine and lysine supplementati... more The aim of the present research was to determine the effects of arginine and lysine supplementation in laying quail diets on performance and egg quality characteristics. A total of 420 Japanese quails (280 females and 140 males; Coturnix coturnix japonica) aged 10 weeks old were divided into seven equal groups, each consisting of 60 quails. The control group was fed a basal diet without the addition of arginine or lysine (with an arginine:lysine ratio at the required level). Experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with: 0.1% arginine; 0.2% arginine; 0.1% lysine; 0.2% lysine; 0.1% arginine + 0.1% lysine; or 0.2% arginine + 0.2% lysine. Feed intake decreased in the 0.1% lysine, 0.2% lysine, and 0.1% arginine + 0.1% lysine groups compared with the control and arginine groups (P<0.01). At the end of the experiment, body weight increased for females in all experimental groups (P<0.05); eggshell thickness decreased in the 0.2% arginine group (P<0.01); and the albumen index increased in the 0.2% arginine + 0.2% lysine group compared with the 0.1% arginine, 0.2% lysine, and 0.1% arginine + 0.1% lysine groups (P<0.05). There were no differences between the experimental groups in terms of egg production, egg weight, feed conversion ratio, shape index, Haugh unit, yolk index, albumen index and yolk color index. In conclusion, lysine supplementation in the quail diets did not appear to have any significant negative effect; excessive arginine supplementation might impair the quality of the eggshell; and combined arginine and lysine supplementation did not improve performance.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of myrtle (Mytrus communis L.) oil when added to... more The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of myrtle (Mytrus communis L.) oil when added to the diet of laying quails on performance, egg quality, some biochemical values and hatchability. A total of 375 quails (250 females and 125 males; Coturnix coturnix japonica), aged eight weeks old, were randomly allocated to five dietary treatments (five replicates of ten females and five males). The birds were fed either a basal diet or the basal diet supplemented with myrtle oil at a dose of 500, 1000, 2000 or 5000 mg/kg feed. The experiment was conducted for eight weeks. At the end of the experiment, no significant differences were found among the groups in terms of initial live weight, feed consumption, egg weight, egg quality (fracture strength, haugh unit, shape index, yolk index, albumen index), serum biochemical values, hatchability, early embryonic death, late embryonic death and submembranous death. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of tulathromycin on serum oxidative status and ... more The aim of this study was to determine the effect of tulathromycin on serum oxidative status and coagulation factors in rabbits. Tulathromycin was administered to eight rabbits, and blood samples were obtained 0, 1, 5, 10 and 15 days after treatment. Indicators of serum oxidative status (malondialdehyde, nitric oxide, superoxide dismutase, retinol and-carotene) and coagulation values (antithrombin III, fibrinogen) were measured after tulathromycin treatment. In addition, routine serum biochemical values (creatine kinase-MB, lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, gamma glutamyl transferase, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, amylase, total protein, albumin, glucose and calcium), haemacell counts (white and red blood cells) and arterial blood gas parameters (packed cell volume, hemoglobin, pH, partial pressure of carbon dioxide, partial pressure of oxygen, actual bicarbonate, standard bicarbonate, total carbon dioxide, base excess in vivo, base excess in vitro, oxygen saturation, sodium and potassium) were also determined. Tulathromycin increased (P < 0.05) the levels of malondialdehyde, nitric oxide and superoxide dismutase activity, and decreased (P < 0.05) the level of antithrombin III. In conclusion, tulathromycin may cause oxidative damage and coagulation disorders during the treatment period.

A total of 500 one-day-old Ross-308 broiler chickens of mixed sex were separated into one Arg-deficient group and four experimental groups. Each group was then divided into five subgroups of 20 birds each. Arginine deficient group for all phases was fed a basal diet which contained 10% less L-Arg than optimum Arg requirement recommended by the breeder. Experimental groups were fed a basal diet supplemented with L-Arg which was progressively 10% increased in groups. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmada toplam 240 adet (160 dişi ve 80 erkek) sekiz haftalık Japon bıldırcını (Coturnix coturnix japonica) her biri 48 bıldırcından oluşan 1 kontrol ve 4 deneme grubuna ayrıldı. Her bir grup da 12 bıldırcından oluşan 4 alt gruba ayrıldı. Kontrol grubu ketencik küspesi (KK) ilavesi yapılmayan (%0 KK) soya fasülyesi küspesi temeline dayanan temel rasyonla beslendi. Deneme gruplarının rasyonlarında KK %5 (KK5), 10 (KK10), 15 (KK15) ve 20 (KK20) düzeylerinde kullanıldı. Araştırma 8 haftada tamamlandı. Bulgular: Araştırmada yem tüketiminin KK15 ve KK20 gruplarında en düşük olduğu belirlendi (P<0.01). Son canlı ağırlığın (P<0.05) ve yumurta veriminin (P<0.01) KK15 ve KK20 gruplarında kontrol grubuna göre azaldığı tespit edildi. Sarı renk indeksinin 4. haftada KK20 grubunda (P<0.001), 8. haftada ise tüm deneme gruplarında arttığı (P<0.01) belirlendi. Başlangıç canlı ağırlık, yumurta ağırlığı, yemden yararlanma oranı, yumurta şekil indeksi, kabuk kalınlığı, ak indeks, sarı indeks ve Haugh biriminin rasyonlara ilave edilen KK'den etkilenmediği tespit edildi (P>0.05). Serum malondialdehid düzeyi KK10, KK15 ve KK20 gruplarında azalırken (P<0.05), serum antioksidan aktivite düzeyinin tüm deneme gruplarında kontrol grubuna göre arttığı (P<0.01) belirlendi. Yumurta sarısı malondialdehid düzeyinin depolamanın 1. (P<0.05) ve 15. (P<0.001) günlerinde kontrol grubuna göre deneme gruplarında azaldığı tespit edildi. Öneri: Yumurtacı bıldırcın rasyonlarına %10 düzeyine kadar KK ilavesinin performans üzerine herhangi bir olumsuz etkisi olmaksızın, lipid peroksidasyonunu önlediği ifade edilebilir.

(NSE) on thyroid hormones and antioxidant balance in hypothyroidism (HT) and hyperthyroidism (HP) models induced by propylthiouracil(PTU) and L-thyroxine(LT4 ), respectively, in rats were investigated for 4 weeks. NSE was administered by gastric gavage at a dose of 200 mg/kg body weight. In this study, 48 male Wistar albino rats with an average weight of 180-290 g and age 5-6 months were divided into eight groups, as follows: groups with HT, (1) control, (2) HT, (3) NSE, and (4) HT + NSE; groups with HP, (1) control, (2) HP, (3), and NSE (4) HP + NSE. As a result, we found that NSE administration increased total triiodothyronine (TT3 ) and decreased nitric oxide in HT + NSE. Besides, it decreased TT3 in HP + NSE and increased total antioxidant capacity. Our findings suggest that NSE may have beneficial effects on thyroid gland abnormalities owing to its antioxidant properties. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Essential oils derived from Nigella sativa L. seed contain many bioactive substances such as thymoquinone and cymene. This paper emphasizes the effect of NSE on thyroid hormone abnormalities and negative oxidative state that occurs in HT and HP models. The present study provides evidence of a positive effect of NSE particularly on TT3 levels in the HT and HP models. It can therefore be assumed that NSE could be used as a supportive natural alternative source to improve thyroid hormone levels and relieve increased oxidative stress.

Twenty four bitches were divided into three groups (n=8 in each) and treated during premedication as follows: FM (2.2 mg/kg, iv, Fluvil, Vilsan, Turkey), M (0.2 mg/kg, sc, Maxicam, Sanovel, Turkey) or 0.9% saline (1 ml, iv, IE, Turkey) - control (C) group. Gereç ve Yöntem: Sprague Dawley ırkı, ovariektomize edilmiş, 3 aylık 40 adet dişi rat kullanıldı. Kontrol grubundaki ratlar (n=10) kasiçi, 3 gün boyunca susam yağı alırken, deneme grubundaki ratlara 3 gün boyunca 25 (n=10), 50 (n=10) ve 100 (n=10) µg/rat/gün dozlarında kas içi 17β östradiol uygulandı. Son uygulamadan 18 saat sonra ratlara servikal dislokasyon uygulandı. Uterus örnekleri vakit kaybetmeden uzaklaştırıldı. Uterus örneklerindeki eNOS ve iNOS enzimlerinin varlığı Western blot ile analiz edilerek elde edilen filmlerde dansitometri gerçekleştirildi. A total of 500, mixed sex, one-dayold Ross-308 broiler chicks were divided into five groups as follows: Arg deficient group and four experimental groups. Each group was then divided into five subgroups of 20 chicks each. Arg deficient group for all time periods was fed by basal diet which contained 10% less L-Arg than optimum Arg requirement recommended by the breeder. Experimental groups were fed by basal diet supplemented with L-Arg which was progressively 10% increased in groups. The highest body weight gain (BWG) was observed on days 11-28 and 0-42 in experimental group fed by basal diet supplemented with 110% L-Arg, whereas the lowest feed conversion ratio (FCR) was determined on days 29-42 and 0-42 in the same experimental group. Feed intake did not change in all three periods, while serum urea nitrogen level in the experimental group in which diet supplemented with 10% L-Arg, was lower than other groups on day 0-10. On contractility studies, it was observed that L-Arg inhibited the amplitude of contractions in duodenum in a dosedependent manner in vitro. These results suggest that the basal diet formulated with 90-130% Arg is not effective on growth performance of chicks on days 0-10, whereas the diet supplemented with 10% L-Arg more than optimum Arg requirement is adequate during the days 11-28 and 29-42. Moreover, although the L-Arg decreased the duodenal contractility in vitro, it is suggested that the diet supplemented with 10% L-Arg more than optimum Arg requirement may be negatively affected the FCR in broilers.

A total of 420 Japanese quails (280 females and 140 males; Coturnix coturnix japonica) aged 10 weeks old were divided into seven equal groups, each consisting of 60 quails. The control group was fed a basal diet without the addition of arginine or lysine (with an arginine:lysine ratio at the required level). Experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with: 0.1% arginine; 0.2% arginine; 0.1% lysine; 0.2% lysine; 0.1% arginine + 0.1% lysine; or 0.2% arginine + 0.2% lysine. Feed intake decreased in the 0.1% lysine, 0.2% lysine, and 0.1% arginine + 0.1% lysine groups compared with the control and arginine groups (P<0.01). At the end of the experiment, body weight increased for females in all experimental groups (P<0.05); eggshell thickness decreased in the 0.2% arginine group (P<0.01); and the albumen index increased in the 0.2% arginine + 0.2% lysine group compared with the 0.1% arginine, 0.2% lysine, and 0.1% arginine + 0.1% lysine groups (P<0.05). There were no differences between the experimental groups in terms of egg production, egg weight, feed conversion ratio, shape index, Haugh unit, yolk index, albumen index and yolk color index. In conclusion, lysine supplementation in the quail diets did not appear to have any significant negative effect; excessive arginine supplementation might impair the quality of the eggshell; and combined arginine and lysine supplementation did not improve performance.

A total of 375 quails (250 females and 125 males; Coturnix coturnix japonica), aged eight weeks old, were randomly allocated to five dietary treatments (five replicates of ten females and five males). The birds were fed either a basal diet or the basal diet supplemented with myrtle oil at a dose of 500, 1000, 2000 or 5000 mg/kg feed. The experiment was conducted for eight weeks. Tulathromycin was administered to eight rabbits, and blood samples were obtained 0, 1, 5, 10 and 15 days after treatment. Indicators of serum oxidative status (malondialdehyde, nitric oxide, superoxide dismutase, retinol and-carotene) and coagulation values (antithrombin III, fibrinogen) were measured after tulathromycin treatment. In addition, routine serum biochemical values (creatine kinase-MB, lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, gamma glutamyl transferase, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, amylase, total protein, albumin, glucose and calcium), haemacell counts (white and red blood cells) and arterial blood gas parameters (packed cell volume, hemoglobin, pH, partial pressure of carbon dioxide, partial pressure of oxygen, actual bicarbonate, standard bicarbonate, total carbon dioxide, base excess in vivo, base excess in vitro, oxygen saturation, sodium and potassium) were also determined. Tulathromycin increased (P < 0.05) the levels of malondialdehyde, nitric oxide and superoxide dismutase activity, and decreased (P < 0.05) the level of antithrombin III. In conclusion, tulathromycin may cause oxidative damage and coagulation disorders during the treatment period.

Amac: Bu arastirma bildircin rasyonlarina aspir-aycicegi kuspesinin birlikte (AAK) ilavesinin bes... more Amac: Bu arastirma bildircin rasyonlarina aspir-aycicegi kuspesinin birlikte (AAK) ilavesinin besi performansi ve bazi karkas kalite ozellikleri uzerine etkisini belirlemek amaciyla yapildi. Gerec ve Yontem: Arastirmada toplam 300 adet uc gunluk Japon bildircini (Coturnix coturnix japonica) erkek ve disi karisik olacak sekilde her biri 60 bildircindan olusan 1 kontrol ve 4 deneme grubuna ayrildi. Her bir grup da 12 bildircindan olusan 5 alt gruba ayrildi. Kontrol grubu aspir ve aycice- gi kuspesi icermeyen misir-soya fasulyesi kuspesi temeline dayanan rasyonla beslendi. Deneme gruplarinin rasyonlarinda aspir ve aycicegi kuspeleri birlikte %10 (AAK10), 20 (AAK20), 30 (AAK30) ve 40 (AAK40) duzeylerinde (AK ve ACK orani 1:1) kullanildi. Arastirma 5 haftada tamamlandi. Bu calismada, Afyonkarahisar ilinin Gazligol bolgesinden alinan kaplica suyu ve bu suyun bekletil... more Bu calismada, Afyonkarahisar ilinin Gazligol bolgesinden alinan kaplica suyu ve bu suyun bekletilerek, distile ve deiyonize edilerek tuketilmesinin oksidan-antioksidan denge ve bazi biyokimyasal parametreler ile karaciger ve bobrek dokusuna etkilerinin belirlenmesi amaclanmistir. Calismada her grupta 6 sican yer almistir. 30 gun boyunca, deney grubundaki sicanlara taze, bekletilmis, deiyonize ve distile edilmis kaplica suyu, kontrol grubundakilere ise normal su verilmistir. Deneme sonunda sicanlardan kan numuneleri ile karaciger, bobrek ve kalp doku ornekleri alinmistir.Hemoglobin degeri bekletilmis kaplica suyu tuketen sicanlarda taze ve deiyonize tuketen sicanlara gore onemli oranda dusuk oldugu gozlenmistir(p<0,05). Distile edilmis kaplica suyu tuketen sicanlarda Cinko degerinde diger gruplara gore anlamli (p<0,05) bir dusus olusmustur. Bu calisma, koyunlarda yeme nane ilavesinin rumen protozoon sayisi ile bazi rumen ve kan parametr... more Bu calisma, koyunlarda yeme nane ilavesinin rumen protozoon sayisi ile bazi rumen ve kan parametrelerine etkisini belirlemek amaciyla yapildi. Calismada 18 adet koyun kullanilmis olup, bunlar her grupta 6 adet olacak sekilde 3 gruba ayrildi. Toplam 30 gun suren deneme periyodu boyunca, Kontrol, %2.5 Nane ve %5 Nane gruplarindaki koyunlar sirasiyla nane icermeyen, %2.5 nane ve %5 nane ilave edilmis yemlerle beslendi. Denemenin sonunda koyunlardan rumen ve kan ornekleri alindi. Rumen orneklerinde; protozoon sayisi, pH ve amonyak duzeyleri belirlendi. Kan orneklerinde ise kan sayimi, plazma ure, glikoz, malondialdehid (MDA) ve glutasyon (GSH) duzeyleri, eritrositlerde superoksit dismutaz (SOD) ve katalaz (CAT) enzim aktiviteleri belirlendi. Calismada; gruplar arasinda rumen protozoon sayisi, pH ve amonyak duzeyleri bakimindan istatistiksel farklar oldugu tespit edildi.
